Not only that dude but some ppl find that transition from ring to cage very difficult. Cro Cop could not adjust properly. It showed in a lot of his UFC fights.

@@Coach_Vedo so true man some ppl dismiss It like it’s no big deal. Some fighters have been able to transition but not all. Even Fedor struggled a bit when put in a cage. They were def past their primes though.

@@pabloenrikay Theres a lot that people overlook from that transition. The size of the ring/octagon, having a fence instead of ropes, the bounce of the mat, the feel of it and not to mention the rule changes. Cro Cop was so legit in PRIDE though. One of my all time faves!

@@Bruhh253 I respectfully disagree. Tyson had speed, maneuverability and power. He also had training in marital arts. I dont know why people think he only trained in boxing. I dont believe shooting on the man with the most dangerous uppercut would be beneficial to any fighter.

I know this is kinda late but on a Croatian podcast he was asked this question and he said something like this " I dont understand weight cutting, i dont like it , if i weight 102kg i weight 102kg and i wont change it. I see guys losing 10-20kg and then they get all that back before the fight so whats the point of it? We should have a weight test before entering the ring , thats how you would stop drastic weight cutting." Then he said a joke something like this " What are you gonna do? You lose 15kg to fight in a lightweight division, you become a champion and you go to a club , a 100kg guy picks a fight with you and you tell him you wont fight him because you dont weight the same. Fuck kinda champion is that?"

the pride that I carry in my heart because I'm from Croatia and we have a legend like Mirko. when I was a kid, we would all sit and watch every single fight. the whole family. knowing Mirko's past and what a kind and humble soul he is and what he achieved truly makes everyone in Croatia more than proud 🇭🇷❤️

One of my favourite Mirko moments is when he is interviewed in Croatia about his loss against Nogueira in 2003. He bashed into the people who look down on Minotauro, acknowledging his skills as a fighter and talking about how he survived being run over by a truck when he was a child. It was one of the most gracious shows of respect I've ever seen.

cro cop is sooo famous here in croatia that people know the sport cause of him, if you just say mma or ufc most of the general population doesn't know but if you mention Mirko they know for us he is the meaning of mma and kickbox. That speaks alot for what he has done for the sport in our region.

One thing I respect a lot about Crocop that people don't give him credit for was being a top Kickboxer in K1 and just going to fight full MMA rules. He became a top HW (but let's face it, Crocop, Nogueira, and Fedor could have all cut to 205 and dominated, they just didn't feel like it). He had ups and downs, he got Koed in stand-up, he submitted people. But, he became a full fledged MMA fighter. Now, let's see if Tyson Fury would risk his reputation and fight full MMA rules

Mirko "CRO COP" Filipovic is one of the best MMA Strikers of all time maybe the best Heavy weight Striker [thats for debate] but he NEVER TOOK STEROIDS when he got signed to UFC he had his 2nd knee surgery and the dr. prescribed him G.P.Hormones and when they came to test him he told them that and they still flagged him and he appealed and by the time the results from a laboratory in London came back proving he was not taking more than he had to after the surgery which the UFC does not forbid ...so they fucvked him susp. for 2 years. this is what he said to a Croatian TV Reporter and if you wonder how he is still in shape ..its because he has his own gym , he trains 2 times a day for over 25 years now ,and Brendan Schaub that knocked him out even said he never fought anyone that is stronger ,plus CRO COP's ground game improved in his later career cuz he started out as a boxer then kick-boxer but a SECOND FIGHT WITH FEDOR WOULD BE THE FIGHT OF THE YEAR and BELLATOR CAN STEAL THAT and BOOM out ,they already have good fighters like Rory MacDonald who got fight coming up in may i think

Pride FC, to me, was peak MMA. Yes the fighters are overall better now but I have never liked the UFC style and I miss the presentation, the show if you will. The intro's, the outlandishness, the ring, the banshee lady, it's never been matched.

If somebody would do a movie about Mirkos life Im sure it would be a hit!!! What you all dont really know if his childhood and what made him the way he is. Plus war plus police work he did. There is no person or it will be. His story needs to be told, he lives his life to the fullest.

There's a documentary about him from the early 2000s. People translated it and uploaded it to youtube - "Cro Cop Story - Croatian television documentary special (Cijeli film) - translated". The channel name is SamuraiStyleTV if you wanted to look it up, it touches on his childhood and shows his daily life
