I have struggled with addiction since I was 14 and now am 32 still not willing to face myself. I've been in and out of rehab but never worked for it and always had my parents as a safety net. After talking with my cousin and being honest I want to heal and put the work in. He suggested to me to watch Chris Herron's story. It was 2 am when we finished talking and for once I listened to someone and followed their advice while keeping my word. I just got done watching his story and although we have different stories we're the same. I am taking positive attitudes and am willing to apply it to my life. I have a long road ahead that won't be easy but I realize I can do this. Thank you Chris and all those who are willing to share their story and help fellow addicts. It's going to take a lot of work, showing true humility, facing my shame, letting go of the past, and knowing I'm worth it to save. I take anyone's story who faced this and is winning the battle one day at a time. Powerful story!

This guy came to my school in New Jersey. What a great soul and strong person. Many kids walked up to him and asked for his advice on their problems, and each one of them got a heartwarming hug in the end.

There are not many jobs out there for ex cones. I think what he's doing is great. If he helps just one person it's worth it.

he is earning a living, and he is helping kids and you somehow found a problem with that.

People with drug habits are so not alone. This is a HUGE problem that gets splashed across the news with little follow up. Damn though, people are not insignificant, your worth getting off that discouraging tread mill of addiction. Believe that.

Addiction is a disease that can be beat. Don't listen to the stigmatism that we face. Instead work on healing yourself one day at a time. Listen to those who have accepted it and live the life with discipline in order to stay sober. If you can do it then I can. That's powerful and inspirational when you hear others stories and see how their healed and living one day at a time. Remember that when you have tough days. Let the past be the past but it doesn't define you. When you are willing to face it you are an inspiration to others and you're an extremely strong person. It's not easy to face the secrets but if you're willing and ready to do what it takes then you can have the joy others had who had the courage to heal. Thank everyone who share their story. Little did they know how many people they reached. It's time for me to put my words into action. I can do it and will do it. Not one day at a time but one hour at a time. Other people have power by sharing. Thank you!!

1:53 "you lie, you cheat, you steal." Sounds like John 10:10 the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. Satan certainly corrupts many minds, and tries very hard to make people act the way he wants them to. We have to keep fighting the good fight of faith and not give into the devil's schemes. God is GOOD! Lean on him at all costs. I'm so glad He was able to give Chris Herren the strength to get through his addiction. What a beautiful story, our God is so beautiful.

he's right about that rock bottom shit, as an addict each day you regress and each year you look back and say "this was the worst year of my life" and then a year later you'll envy that year compared to this one. Happy he found his way, his 30 for 30 blew my mind

This is just my opionin of this guy. He was a very good basketball player who screwed up a lot. He was a drug addict who did not get a degree the NBA did not work out and now he gets paid to speak about how he screwed up. Sure I know many kids need to hear his story, but I think he is a joke!! He does not want to go to work and do a 9 to 5 like most of us. He also is trying to promote a book about his screw ups. Go out and earn a living and be legit!!
@KyleHurd6 жыл бұрын
Chris Johnston so you think traveling around speaking and writing books isn't "earning" a living?! Lol clearly you've never traveled for a living. Why don't you do this, just shut your stupid mouth. You are a person who thrives on negativity, no one likes you and that's for obvious reasons, shut yourself down.
@chancock42225 жыл бұрын
So You're mad because even with all the adversity he faced he still has done more with his life and contributed more to society than you. Perhaps it's you who is the joke.
