After watching so many BassTheWorld videos featuring Frank, it was fun and fascinating to get a glimpse of you two unscripted. As a bassist who plays at home only, you provide boatloads of inspiration. And let's not forget you're both making the effort to do this interview in a second language. Respect and thank you! I'd love to grab a beer or four with you two and be able to let loose in German.

Frank, you are an inspiration! I started playing bass at the age of 67 - I'm nearly 70 now - and watching you having fun and giving it the trademarked "Frank Itt" bassface reassures me that my pleasure in the bass can only get richer. Thank you too, Gregor, for the interview.

Ich bin so froh die The Touch Platte mit einem damals unbekannten Terence Trent d‘Arby ergattert zu haben. Franks Basslines haben mich damals umgehauen. Ist aber leider auf keinem mir bekannten Streamingdienst vertreten.

I remember wanting the BBG5a, but couldn't afford it, so I got the passive BBG5. I've used it regularly ever since 1997. It's a wreck, and everything has rusted, but it still plays and sounds great. :)

He seems lovely and it was interesting to find out more about him, but in a way it’s sort of ruined his mystery now. Before, he was just this enigmatic figure who existed purely to pump out fat grooves when summoned out of the ether

After hearing Frank's story about the Yamaha BB5GS, I picked one up for a nice price. Very nice-playing instrument. And he was right in a comment from another video where he said that there was a split coil pickup under the soapbar covers. It's actually a reverse-P pickup with the D and G under the coil nearer the neck and the B, E, and A under the coil nearer the bridge. Confirmed this by tapping a screwdriver since I didn't have an airport x-ray machine. Interesting...

Put Frank in a difficult position: give him a bass he doesn't know, with an amp and a pedal he is not familiar with and let him 5 or 10 minutes to groove on a beat or something.

Frank!!! My hero; legendary Yamaha BBG5S mega "bass face" bassman! Mannheim, I am nearby, would it be rude to ask for a Jam sometime?! My BBG5S I have had since I was about 10 or 11. I have fitted my with some artisan pickups from Jerry Sentell in Sacramento.
