quick note on how Batman was able to call the bats to help him around the 23:50 mark.. when he was getting his uniform together, it was mentioned one of his tools was a device that uses "echolocation", the way bats are able to manoeuvre hearing/flying blind in the dark. So he basically had a device that had the capability to call for "help" that only bats would be able to hear and swarm.

Outside of these movies, the character Ra's Al Ghul has died many times and is always brought back to life. He's basically the only Batman villain who is immortal. He's lived between 800-2000 years lol.

Fantastic reaction. I remember seeing this on my 13th birthday in theatres. It was UNFORGETTABLE. It's quite commonplace now, but back then, the idea of a "realistic", dark superhero movie was really new and this honestly felt like a crime drama. I thought it was so clever. The training scenes were probably my favourite, and when you finally had the big reveal of him in the suit.

When I watched the dark knight in theaters I got so scared right at the end before the final scene that I tried to say “I gotta go to the bathroom” & my dad was like “the movies ab to end can you hold it” lmao. I LOVE this trilogy, I was 8 when I saw the dark knight in theaters when it came out. SO thankful I had the honor of seeing it jn theaters when it came out, even if I don’t really remember the experience, I was there & now I’ve seen the trilogy dozens of times & watched almost all the reactions to them on yt

Because the notes Bruce plays are specific & designed to be unlikely for anyone else to think of since its not aesthetically pleasing or a common tune, it would be VERY unlikely someone would crack the code or accidentally hit the right combination of keys.

"And why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up." Fun Fact: Although Christian Bale performed many of his own stunts, he wasn't allowed anywhere near the Batmobile. Lost In Translation: The language used by Ken Watanabe is neither Japanese nor Tibetan, nor in fact any known language at all. It's supposedly some gibberish he says he made up himself for the role, though the subtitles list it as Urdu. Deep Cut Fact: The Joker playing card presented to Batman (Christian Bale) at the end of this movie is a replica of the Joker Card from the 1989 graphic novel "Arkham Asylum" by Grant Morrison and Dave McKean. It carries an evidence label, this label reads that the officer who discovered it was a J. Kerr, one of the Joker's favorite aliases (Joe Kerr) in the comic books. Automobile Enthusiast Fact: The Batmobile, nine feet wide, and sixteen feet long, has a top speed of one hundred six miles (one hundred seventy kilometers) per hour, and can accelerate from zero to sixty miles (ninety-six kilometers) per hour in six seconds. The engine is a 5.7 liter V8 Chevy. It runs on unleaded gasoline and can do about seven miles per gallon. It has four 44-inch tires at the rear, made by Interco Tire Corporation, while the front is covered in jagged plates of armor. It was designed and built by Chris Corbould and Andrew Smith at Shepperton Studios in England. This Batmobile was built from the ground up, and is estimated to be worth half a million pounds sterling. It was designed by mashing together several different off-the-shelf model kits. Its construction was so exacting to the model, that they even duplicated the blobs of excess glue.

It has to be very rewarding going into this and being able to spot all the genius that went into it. Every time you both picked up on an actor or Hans, you knew how good what you're watching was going to be. We never knew. This was the first movie where the material was taken seriously. The whole nerd community went in grumpy because there was no Joker. Bale was in a very comparable role in a movie called American Psycho so we all had high hopes for him. Christopher Nolan was earning his stripes so we didn't know what to expect from him. We had no idea this was going to be the best superhero movie ever made at the time. While other movies have come out since and some have been better, this is still one of the best. Forget just superhero moves, the second movie in this trilogy is one of the greatest films of all time. Third one, not so much. Glad you liked Cillian. He's in all 3. He was actually runner up for the Batman role. These movies are where Nolan fell in love with him and where Nolan got all of his studio support going forward. Without them, there would be no Oppenheimer. Family bonding is great. Especially with a good movie. I'm just not sure what it would be like watching this as a dad. "Sorry, son. I'm alive and we're not this rich. You will never be Batman."

If you liked the origin story thing, you should check out the series; Gotham. It starts with the killing of Bruces parents and young detective Jim Gordon investigating their murder. It’s basically a crime series that focuses on the mob and the origins of the batman villains and of course Bruce growing up to become Batman. Sean Pertwee’s portrayal of Alfred is quality.

This is my favorite Batman movie. Before this the best Batman was still in the cartoons and that technically may still be true. But this gave us the cartoon Batman with all his gadgets and being cool an scary as he is suppose to be. Fighting Batman should feel like your fighting a monster with paranormal powers because you can't explain how he is able to do things he does. Which is why he is so feared and respected by other heroes in DC who do have super powers.

i have no problem saying batman begins is my favorite in tdk trilogy. batman is my favorite comic book hero and i liked and appreciated that this was an origin story for the character. first time we'd really seen this on film up to this point. when tdk released, yes, i loved that film too. only film i saw 6 times in theaters. never repeated that again. once hype was over and time passed, i rewatched all 3 films in trilogy and it was clear that begins was my favorite b/c it was a batman/bruce wayne story. even though i do think the dark knight is the best made film w/it's constant plot twists, story themes, and ledger's performance as the joker, batman begins is my favorite from the trilogy as the best batman film and sets the stage for what's to come.

Great reaction. This movie started the whole super hero movie craze. Of course, the Tobey Maquire Spider Man movies were out but this trilogy kickstarted real interest in super hero movies and then, we got the entire MCU franchise. Anyway, I can tell you two don't know much about Ra's Al Gul. In this movie, he died when that train crashed at the end. However, in the comics, Ra's Al Gul was immortal so technically, he should've still been alive even after that crash. He died in this story line, I personally think, just to make things easier to move the story along to the next movie. They couldn't have him lingering in the background, I think, when Batman takes on his next nemesis. Well, looking forward to seeing you react to The Dark Knight. THAT movie is damn near legendary.
@lucasdolding6924
@lucasdolding6924 4 ай бұрын
I think probably having the Spider-Man, Batman and X-Men films, being some of the most recognisable and well loved comic heroes, all coming out around the same time is what started the craze, not necessarily just one of them. And also all of them being really good films that the mainstream enjoyed, since of course there had been plenty of superheroes before these but never kickstarted things off until the early 00s.
@IAmNative-px4mx
@IAmNative-px4mx 4 ай бұрын
@olding6924 Yep, you're right. When I was writing my comment, I was trying to think in the spur of the moment and the only super hero movie that came to mind was Tobey's Spider Man. But you're right, X-Men movies were already out and I don't know why I didn't think of them. However, the sheer craze for super hero movies didn't really go into overdrive until after Heath Ledger's Joker was seen in The Dark Knight. That's just my opinion, of course cause after The Dark Knight, everyone's expectations were really high and Dark Knight Rises got a lot of criticism which I thought was unnecessary. Dark Knight Rises is a really good movie. I think it's more cerebral than Dark Knight. Joker has his own philosophy for his anarchy but and I have to be careful here not to give any spoilers but Dark Knight Rises was definitely more aesthetic in what happens to Bruce Wayne and what he has to overcome. I've always appreciated aesthetics in movies. And of course, Michael Keaton's Batman was out way earlier, too. Yet because of what happened with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, I think most people were trying not to think about it lol. Keaton's Batman didn't become relevant again until the Flash movie which I liked. I know most people don't like that falling babies scene but whatever. The only part that bothered me about that movie was that nurse screaming even after she was saved. Was that necessary? It made me wonder if she had to because of contractual reasons. She really went for it, you know? lol
@lucasdolding6924
@lucasdolding6924 4 ай бұрын
@@IAmNative-px4mx Yeah I like Dark Knight Rises, but the problem is that Dark Knight is just so so good, like it almost transcends just being a superhero film. And yeah the Schumacher Batman films did make everyone think superhero films were just kinda goofy and unserious leading to a lot of the superhero films that followed it to try and change that image of the genre, though keeping some of the goofiness. Nolan’s trilogy though is a lot more grounded and ‘realistic’ which I feel like the MCU took a lot of inspiration from (especially the Netflix shows which felt closer to the Dark Knight trilogy than the MCU in terms of tone a lot of the time). I haven’t seen The Flash film so can’t speak to it lol

I'm glad you two are watching the Chris Nolan Batman trilogy, I think it's the best and most realistic portrayal of the Batman franchises, and I know you'll enjoy it. I also liked the Robert Pattinson Batman movie and it's realistic as well but since only one movie starring him has come out I don't think we can call it a franchise.

I will say that I actually like The Batman better than these though. It's kind of tough though as they are all different aspects and different tellings of Batman.

I don't like this trilogy at all but here's hoping for more DC movies on this channel. Once you're done with Nolan please watch the DCEU movies. At least the good ones. By Zack Snyder.

It's actually pronounced, RAYSH Al Ghul. Not sure why they mispronounced it

Probably because this "mispronunciation" is closer to the actual Arabic pronunciation of this word: /raʔs/ (in most vernaculars: /ra(:)s/.

There is two pronunciations that the Batman universe bounces back and forth between. It's not really a big deal. They do it with Mr. Freeze (Victor Fries) too.

Actually no. The correct pronunciation is said in this movie. Technically, given the Arabic origin, 'raazz' would be closest. I have no idea where this 'raysh' idea came from, maybe some animated reference??, but it's very very wrong.

@@steved1135 I previously thought "Raysh" was the proper pronunciation. However, upon research, neither pronunciation is wrong. "Raysh" however, certainly sounds better to me, it makes the name sound like it possesses power, and suitable power at that. In a Green Arrow based live-action TV series, "Arrow", it is pronounced "Raaz", however, in the highly popular "Batman: The Animated Series", it is pronounced "Raysh".
