The battery platform I invested in was Hitachi (aka Metabo) about 14 years ago. Still have enough chargers and batteries to last me awhile. I built my own adapters out of empty cartridges and battery holders so i could use a few Makita and Ryobi 🙂

Not a battery expert,but think you might need to be careful.Ive heard that because the battery management system involves the tool not being able to discharge the battery too far down,it is possible to discharge the battery too low with the adapter,and then the battery may never be able to recharge.

the dewalt batteries are the best of any rechargable system I have ever tried. I try and reuse them for all my devices, thanks for the tip. I have even gone so far to convert my 12v dewalt batteries (which you can buy for dirt cheap now, and the 20v charger works with them,) into the main power supply for my camper running the cigarette lighter sockets all over. I even found the circuit board that protects the battery from running to zero and put that inline.

I have a bunch of Dewalt tools and batteries but found the adaptor for Ryobi and love it. Ryobi has a couple of small cordless tools that are handy to have. Great Video!

Thanks for watching! I have that adapter also for the Ryobi! I love their tools also. They have a lot of great items and the price is always right. I need to show more of those on the channel. I bought the inflator from Ryobi and I use it all the time now.

Probably the most insane brand is Bosch. The battery of the Green series Bosch don't fit the Blue series Bosch. What a shame.

Thank you. I used this about a year ago and it is useful. But you must pay attention👀They usually don't have thermal orlow voltage feedback, abatteriescan get damaged if driven too hard

Thank you for watching! I completely agree with what you said. Certain tools I prefer air or electric as I have more continous power. Batteries are convenient. I am doing a siding job right now and I use a flooring saw to cut my siding and it runs off batteries. I think I will have the whole house done on 1-2 batteries which makes it nice if not power is available.

Hey mate, I actually modified bauer, rigid tools and bostitch tools to work with dewalt batteries without an adapter. Only thinks that I haven used adapter on is milwaukee tools and ryobi radio or Led's.

I might have one bauer tool most of the tools I have are ryobi what I did was I have 2 batteries here they are expensive dewalts but what ever adatpers I do have here everything has an adapter even the ryobi shop vac so I can keep using dewalt batteries and dont need to swtich brands !!!!

Bought a Makita battery adapter to use on Bauer tools. Looking for an adapter so I can use makita on hercules tools. Have too many makita batteries to simply buy bauer or hercules batteries but do want their tools. Hercules has 5 year warranties and bauer now offers 2 yr extended warranties.

They are really the same voltage. One is the nominal voltage of the lithium cells. The other is the max voltage

I have about 10 deVValt batteries and want a grass whacker, but the dewalts are so expensive and they get bad reviews, so I'm looking to get a $30 Bower from chinafreight, I juat ordered the adapter.

i have a dead m12 battery...gonna gut it and attach a 12v similar Ah adaptor to make it wall powered. Actually now that i think of it, i will splice my m12 radio AC adaptor to the m12 battery since i know the adaptor is specifically made to power m12 tools....i will make a video

It might work but definitely not recommended, the charger balances the battery but the adapters only have the positive and negative terminals, it might catch fire or decrease the battery life

There should be a ONE battery system imposed on the manufacturers of Power Tools globally. The impact on the environment in sourcing the materials is unacceptable, as is the use of child labour in the mines.

100% agree. If they had a universal battery it would do so much good. One big reason I like the adapters. I can use that one company across all of my tool platforms now with adapters for each brand.

We all wish... but not gonna happen as these manufacturers make big chunks of money with their batteries, and they know once you're hooked to their batt system, you will be their slave 😂

I do agree with you on standard battery for every tool. Freaking annoying you need a tool but don’t want to spend 10x more for same thing. In the end you almost spend just as much going to 2-3 different companies. 😢

The so called adapters being sold on the secondary market...is a really a crapshoot ...the fit and finish is meh....and be aware that not all tools will work with these adapters. In my current situation i already tried using the amzn adapters but they didn't fit my tool .... it would get stuck...or just fall out while in use. In the end i was lucky to find a dewalt adapter made my the same company that makes dewalt tools (DCA1820) and modify/merge it with a non-working (insert your brand) battery to make a acceptable adapter. Some soldering and hot glue will be needed to make this modification...but the end result would be way better than what amzn sells. Fyi....you can discard the innards (old cells) just reuse the wiring ... positive to positve....etc...etc... google it if you need a visual...there are alot of homemade "how to" adapters floating out on youtube.

I’m sad I started with Dewalt, they should be ashamed of their finish guns. Junk. Milwaukee finish guns are ok , less moving parts, but their problem? The finish nail at least in the two guns I bought’ will not sink into any wood all the way, and because it’s T nails’ try sinking it the rest of the way with a nail set, looks like a sink hole when your done. Especially 2-1/2 no matter what the setting on the gun. But I do like how quiet it is.but I’m not paying for quiet Guns.

@@BrianWingard the Digital trigger $145 goes out too quickly, they break at least once every two months, The brad nailer after a while the slide chamber gets so loose that the clip breaks in half and climbs on top of the other half, mine are in the shop more than they are on the job it’s a piece of junk! both of them. They start out great but they don’t last nowhere near pneumatic nailers and that’s what I’m back with’ a loud air compressor and a hose and I hate it, this trial was at least two years long, I gave up, and I let them know it, they know they need to make a better gun but they probably won’t.

I found the Milwaukee 18ga 1st gen wasnt consistent in sinking the nails, especially if you shot at an angle. 2nd gen gun is a lot better, in my experience at least. Which gen were you using?

@@solis1211 probably the first, is Milwaukee actually making a better gun? How do I tell which generation I own ? Is it the year it was made? It would be nice if it shot senco nails. T-nails have almost a ring shank to them.

Thanks for watching. Honestly with tools it is impossible to know in advance what the future holds. I started out with dewalt over 26 years ago and through the years certain companies come out with certain items that work insanely well. I have tools from all platforms now as some just last longer and perform better than others and this is a super easy way to save money overall. Batteries is what the companies make the most money from not the tools.

One big thing I learned from youtube is if you make overly quick and do not explain it or show it in action you get a million questions in the comments that could have been easily avoided if you just overly explained the product in the video. Even though you may know how it works 95% of the people watching may not.
