I read many stories about Marathon, Platea, and Salamis, Thermopoly. Its literally makes the hair in the back of my neck stand up!!! Free men back then stood their ground and fought with courage and a resolve to die rather than surrender or lose. It makes me proud of my ancestors!!!

There is a legend about what happened after the battle. After the battle of Marathon, a Greek messenger ran from Marathon to Athens, the distance was about 40 kilometers or 26.2 miles. When he arrived at the city, he delivered the news of the battle to the inhabitants of the city, then collapsed from exhaustion, That run is why the Olympics does a marathon, which also is usually the exact same distance run by the messenger.

Their most famous battle was a defeat, they started the Peloponnesian war with contingents being captured after surrendering to Athenians. Υπέροχος! Απίστευτος! The Battle of Marathon, in my historical analysis, must have been a "surprise" for the Spartans. The Spartans regarded the Athenians as philosophers and as "lovers of democracy", but not as warriors. After Miltiades' victory at Marathon, it became evident that Greece (Ελλάς) did not depend on the Spartans to win a conflict or a battle. The Battle of Marathon, in my historical analysis, marked the "starting point" of the Athenian hegemony. Nevertheless, in my historical analysis, Darius managed to achieve "50"% of his revenge against the two poleis that aided the Ionian Revolt: Athens and Eretria. Despite the Persian defeat at Marathon (which saved Athens), Eretria, on the other hand, was completely devastated and annihilated.

Then the democratic Athenian politicians banished Miltiades from Athens because he was such a capable and strong leader they were afraid of him and his influence. Miltiades fled to Sparta where they honoured him as a proper Hellene hero.

They actually waited a few days, deciding on what to do. When the Persians split their forces, sending the navy to cut off and attack Athens. Then the Athenian forces attacked and then death marched back home to defend Athens.

Just in general - the animations from total war that you have in the video are really great. You have some awesome mods and great closeups. You got a great eye for video capture. My questions was do you do them yourself ? If so I could use your help to create some anima for me - I’d be willing to pay for your services

I'm Greek and I guess you are Iranian former Pesrsian. our ancestors fought each other many times for 1500 years. we were neighbors until Turkish invasion in Minor Asia. Different civilazations but after all these years we must respect each other and be friendly nations. We stoped you from invasion in Europe many times but that was our duty, No hard feelings ok? You were a great nation too totally different from us but respectable.we are not enemies any more my friend.

Bro your videos are legit dope as fuck. Do you have to go into custom games and set it up and "play" the game? Or is there some kind of cinematic sandbox mode? I love the total war series of games and always thought doing something like this would be cool.

The Persians lost 6400 dead ...butchered and beaten they fled the battlefield.......The mound of the Athenians is still there and in 1890 a German archeologist dug into the mound and counted the bones .....192 .......Wwwoooooowwwww ...
