I am an OLD BattleTech Player, both tabletop and computers. I still have all my old Lead unseen figs I painted in Highschool. And I remeber escaping the training grounds in a Chameleon.

Loving the videos. I used to read the BattleTech novels and play the MechWarrior games as a kid and teenager. It's awesome to get a breakdown of the lore that fuels this universe. Now to get some minis and play some Tabletop BattleTech with my friends. Though, the Harebrained Schemes game is keeping that itch scratched for now.

@@LoreReloaded Good work so far LR. It's really interesting to see how many of the sci-fi YT channels I sub too have recently all started to cover BT in depth. Just following the trend or is it something you've always wanted to get into? Or is it just the 'mission'/purpose of your channel to cover the lore from numerous settings so you were bound to get to it eventually? Not sure whether anyone remembered but back in the MSN Gaming Zone era there was a mechcommander room you could enter to battle each other. Amazing times when everyone was either a clanner that used proper language or an Inner Sphere surat that belonged to one of the Houses.

During the "Age of War" (pre Star League and Star League eras) in Battletech there isn't much for art. That has been in the process of being reconned for the last cunk of years, but, it was all very much just a timeline and little else so that you would have some concept of history for the "current time", which originally (as I understand the development model) was supposed to be a year by year progression starting with 3050 in rl 1990, so that today being rl 2018, in game it should be 3078, but of course, that idea for the game got off course at some point. MechWarrior Online was going to attempt the same thing, and it didn't work so well there either.

That's more or less what happened to the head of ComStar at the end of the Clan invasions: an underling who didn't like her plan* shot her in the back of the head, and then claimed it was a sudden brain hemmorage. Yeah, I guess severe bleeding and brain damage are technically the causes of death... *Admittedly, the guy wasn't just being a jerk. It really was a pretty convoluted and shady plan, involving tons of betrayals and leaving big decisions to chance. Basically, the plan was for ComStar (caretakers of the Inner Sphere's communication network) to ally with the Clans during their invasion of the Inner Sphere. ComStar would hamstring the Inner Sphere's ability to coordinate, and the Clans could use that advantage to sweep away the various Successor States' militaries. Once the Successor States were critically weakened and the Clans overextended in the conquest, ComStar would then stab the Clans in the back, cutting _their_ communications and liberating Clan-held worlds with their own troops (which included a lot of cool Star League-era gear). ComStar would be the sole remaining superpower, and the hero for evicting the Clans. ...Yeah, it's more than a bit supervillain-esque, but then, so is getting assassinated by your second-in-command for coming up with lunatic plans like that.

This might help some people. Huh (as in Huh? What was that?) - Gem (as in gemstone) - unny (like in bunny) huh-GEM-unny Place the emphasis on the second syllable. It's what the phonetic spelling from the momentary clip means.

Terra and Terran are used a lot in Sci-Fi because it is Latin for Earth and Humans, and is more common of a reference for other languages besides English.

I remember talking about the heart attack with my gaming group and we had a theory that his brother murdered him so he could take over. We asked Mr. Coleman about that years ago at a gaming convention and he said that at one point they had considered it but they scraped the idea as they had been planning ten or so years of content in advanced. Though Michael Stockpole kept throwing a wrench into the gears with him slipping jedi style traits in such as the phantom mech ability of morgan kell that got so bad that it was seen as a stain on their franchise. So LR I was wondering if you would be willing to look into the phantom mech ability when you finally cover the kell hounds? I want your take on it.

Could you tune down the volume of the background music more in future videos? In places it's hard to understand what you say, because the music is slightly louder than your voice on occasions. As for Terra vs. Earth... I think I remember something about the government pushing for the use of Terra to mark a new start and emphasize that this was no longer a planet of different countries, but a united one. Though I'm not sure I remember that correctly. There's just too much Battletech Lore to remember it all in detail (or at all). ^^

The same way a king does: not at all. In all of the traditionally "big" empires, control has always been primarily local, partly because the locals are less likely to revolt if they get to live the way they want, and partly because the time delay for sending orders is too long to centralize control.

No worries bud, hegemony is very rarely spoken. I twitch a bit when you mispronounce it, but remember it is an almost forgotten word. I guess because it's a mouthful of a word.

Hegemony is easy to pronounce . While it is most definitely a forgotten word, if you have read enough books and watched enough media content in the form of tv shows and movies, you should have encountered this word enough times to pronounce it correctly. That's my opinion on the matter. Some people just have issues. I know people who can't pronounce certain words to save their life. Drives me crazy . No idea why, but it does. *twitching intensifies*

Also, I wonder if Battletech matches will take off better than Attack Wing Lorecrafting, I'm still not sure if I missed the videos or if they just never took off.
