"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" -- Under this policy, the Military could not ask, actively investigate, or discriminate against an LGB soldier who was closeted; however, if the soldier revealed to anyone in the military that they were LGB, or engaged in homosexual behavior that became public-- they would have been subject to investigation and discharge. It wasn't so much a crime, but (paradoxically) a legal military ban on LGB military service and anti-discrimination policy against active servers.

The joint gasp at the realisation that blood splatters in space would be zero gravity was incredible I gasped too lmao Like imagine The person is murdering them in normal speed but the blood splatter looks like it’s going in slow motion cus the low gravity levels Incredible cinematography could do that JUSTICE

I literally just watched a small zoom theatre piece about this (link here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hs5_n9KAnLupdaM.html ) but did not actually realise it was an actual thing that happen. I agree though be gay do crime, especially if you’re in space. Also i would watch the hell out of a space horror film with just a murderer in space, interestingly it reminds me of Asimov’s thoughts on sci-fi and how it can be applied to any literary genre rather that being a limiting genre in itself (if you haven’t read his Caves of Steel book series which is a sci-fi detective series) Anyway also just wanted to say how much I love your podcast and that it is just really good fun to listen to and learn about a variety of scientific events and fields of science, I will say though I do miss seeing Jam doing his little dance to the theme music in favour of a background with the title

The holiday that people wont shut up about... my partner has been on one cruise... and he mentions it at every opportunity 🤣 also i hate cruises because i just hate boats so it's not even a brag to me, it sounds awful. I think it was his first holiday so he's quite proud of it

@@SciGuys right, but it would still be one of the greatest movies! Imagine a human-like creature who managed to get into get into a space program and not raise any suspicion, only to kill its crew mates. It would make a perfect plot twist!
