Yeah, sorry. Grew up with Twisted Sister, Boy George, Prince, Marilyn Manson .... seeing a guy in a dress doesn't freeze our gears. It was more that he wasn't pulling it off, and needs some serious fashion assistance.

I was born in a world with this way of life. You don't get used to it; it's antithetical to life. (Shudders)

This GenXer would not have a face like that for processing.. it is burned into my brain from back in the 80's to immediately make fun of any guy dressed like that.

perfect explanation of me when I see something I've never seen in the previous 67 years. I have to run down a list of questions, like, is this actually hurting anyone, are *they* happy, do I understand it, do I actually care about it in any meaningful way? yes? then why? is it old notions that need updating? I mean, the list goes on and that takes a moment or two to process

My brother, iffin the gears are indead "grinding". Then that is of course your transmission SCREAMING. Because you have, or attempted to make a shift that was just wrong. Listen to your transmission, and not the other Trans.. Please.

Honestly, I would look, and just shake my head and leave. Not worth the gear grinding to process any of that. Just would earn an eyeroll here.

As a Gen-Xer, I don't quite understand why people find it difficult to accept androgyny or cross-dressing. Our generation had many musicians, bands, and fashion icons like Boy George, Annie Lennox, David Bowie, Pete Burns, Grace Jones, and Prince who all blurred traditional gender boundaries. The concept of androgyny or cross-dressing shouldn't come as a surprise. The Gen-Xers I grew up with valued uniqueness and diversity, so I don't care about what someone wears or looks like. To each their own. If that would have been me and I saw that. As a joke, I would have gone to my closet and bathroom and pulled out a complete outfit and makeup. I would have then gone back to the room and told him if you are going to dress like a woman then at least do it right. Sit your ass down and let a real women show you how it's done. lol
