Considering the chief of the BBC gave himself a hefty £75,000 pay rise when he already earns £450,000 a year then harassing anybody to pay for a TV Licence is disgusting.

Most of those over 75s who have not been cowed into paying for a TV licence will have good reason for not having done so. I reckon most of them will give short shrift to anyone Crapita sends around for a "customer care" visit and more power to their elbow. The "Express" should be taken to task for their disgracefully misleading description of the consequences for anyone refusing to allow a TV licence inspector into their homes.

I am 82 and have paid the license fee for over 50 years (aged 22 to 75) like any other subscription service it is perfectly reasonable to expect a free service for the last few years I have remaining.

Had a goon turn up the day we was moving in to our new house, Threatened to come back with a warrant when I told him to do one. He pops round every 6 months or so to see if someone else lives here. The dejected look on his face when I open the door and tell him to F*** off is priceless. 😁

These "Customer Care" visits are just goon visits re branded. If seniors are legally licence free, then they aren't a customer of the BBC / Capita.

Good luck to them if they come here. I’m still waiting for the visit promised by a person who called me a thief. I’m 84 and have no intention of getting a licence. I’ve found better things to occupy my time.

They just lie to get a warrant , I know one who told the judge that a van has been outside the property with a detector box which detected live tv being watched although they could not pinpoint the signal to the property, and they got a warrant off that !! We all know no such detector box exists but the judge still granted the warrant.....disgusting !

Capita are now trying to sugar coat their goons coming knocking on your front door by calling them customer care visits . If they threaten the wrong person they could go straight from customer care to hospital care.

These "goons", are disrespectful towards our old aged pensioner's who have it their lifetimes paid for and deserve free licences. My friend was approached by a goon who wanted to come in her home, good job I was there to say "no thank you" and close the door. The very next day the same "goon" came back with his thug tactics but once again he was sent packing politely. They haven't been back for 3 weeks now and hopefully that should be it, Jon!

I love the term "customer service". To be a customer is a choice, whereas the BBC and their licencing goons are making out that it is mandatory that you partake, and pay for their "service" , which by their own admission no longer provides a service for the targeted age group. If this was any other product or service, the company responsible would be in court for this sort of deception sharp practice.

Nothing shocks me about the tactics used by Capita as they are the same firm that performs the medical assessments for the DWP and their behaviour regarding those is utterly disgusting.

The issue of over 75's now being required to pay for a tv licence and the outrage surrounding that is a red herring, we should be concentrating all of our efforts on the abolition of the tv licence for everybody, not just the over 75's. The bbc should required to go subscription only or ads or a combination of the two. As a non-customer of the bbc I strongly object to having my peace and quiet disturbed by goons enquiring about why I'm not a customer of theirs, truly outrageous.

When we moved into our house,a tv tax inspector walked in as door was open due 2 builders being upstairs,and entered dining room and left a tax letter on it,i was at wrk,i told wife ring the police,she had the index of tax car,police stoped the woman tax inspector,and arrested her,after checking with the bbc they warned her about possible burglary charges,1 hour later grovelling phone call from bbc.

nice to see people finally listening knowing how shady and corrupt that horrid company is ..even ex employees and presenters hate the bbc with a passion.. just a shame people still fall for there tactics.. but like most things happening in the world .. the world is waking up to the lies and deception .. good video jon..

See, here's the thing. If TV licencing show up on my doorstep, I'll just laugh at them and waste their time. If they go on at mum and dads land, I'd be getting a phone call and that "inspector" is going to have a really bad day.

I am not yet 75 but I have not owned a TV for many years. I still receive threatening letters. I used to reply but as these are ignored I now just threw them in the bin. It is appalling that older people with less knowledge of the law than me can be intimidated.

What if you have recorded stuff from way back when you did have a license, surly you can keep the content. Just been told heating will be increased by £15 per month extra, how on earth do they think we can afford all these rises without a decent pension raise. I’ve been told to expect visit in September. The July visit didn’t happen. Thanks to you I know what to do.

Please! Use the word "elderly" and not the word "old."

Note that the DVLA don’t send goons round saying “if you drive a car without a licence you could be put in prison and get a criminal record. However you can just pay for the licence you don’t need” Or HRMC saying “if there’s an illegal immigrant in your house … we just need to come in and check your house” What if some blokes come round “we have just come to read your electricity meter and to check it’s not being bypassed. As soon as we’ve stolen your money and jewellery, we will be gone.”

If the BBC are trying to sell, via their Capita sub-contractors, TV Licenses then it would be legitimate to regard these letters as advertisements. If that is the case then surely they could be referred to the Advertising Standards Agency for false advertising? If Kellogg's sent out a letter saying that if I eat breakfast I have to buy a box of Cornflakes or I could be fined / jailed it would be a major issue...

Hi Pensioner's should tell them they need all letters in Bold font can't read the small print. If anyone thinks Boris will defund the BBC then why isn't he telling the paper not to lie for the benefit of the BBC
