It's a low- lye relaxer. If you read the ingredients it tells you. Also, just so you know, a texturizer also has the same chemicals as a relaxer. They just use different verbiage. Your best bet is to always read the ingredients. I used this product and I love it so far. I still have texture. it just makes my hair look like what it would if I had conditioner in it. Keeps it elongated without all the product. It still looks like a natural fro...it just doesn't shrink. I have shoulder length hair, and I love it! Also be mindful of the different textures in your head. Section your hair and start with the sections that have the tightest curl pattern. That helps with keeping it uniformed so some places of your head aren't straighter than others. Start in the tightest or most resistant sections of your hair and work fast.

Thank you!,how do you prep your hair?,do you foot on dirty hair,clean with conditioner or without ? I want to do it but I Fred the fast processing of my hair!

I section my hair in at least 5 sections. 2 in the back and 2 across the top. My bang area is where I process last. My curl pattern is more loose there so it doesn't take much for that to process

No problem, I just put more in my hair last week I honestly love this because my hair still looks natural but a little easier to manage

Her hair looks relaxed. I used it and it was disappointing I had more curls and more coils. It was I brushed my edges and didn’t put it in a ponytail. I was SAD. I was like what am I ever going to do with my hair. It was still so so hard to comb. I just do not want to relax anymore but it may be impossible to not relax a little. I’m doing another Tex Lax today….. see what happens better or worse. Then I’ll know if I will ever use it again. My feelings on it. Her review helped me a ton.

I LOVE TEX LAX forever. This time I let it sit and I smoothed it out with my fingers. I washed it out well. I did not use the conditioner. I LOVE MY HAIR. not without her review. Her review helped me so much!

To me it is a mild relaxer. Still chemicals as you pointed out.

Why would you think it wasn’t chemicals? It says exactly what it is on the box. Your hair isn’t supposed to be natural but once it grows out it will go to a natural more manageable state. I just used this versus a texturize-r because it only lasts two weeks. Perms and texturize-ers burn my scalp as a collective. Anyways I did the one side shave and now doing the ugly grow back phase. So I wanted something that looked “appropriate” in the corporate sector while I grow my hair back. It didn’t look how it felt. Felt soft but looked sketch lol. I’ve always had manageable, soft hair so I didn’t need it for that. I’m looking forward to what the long term aesthetic result is honestly.
