It's all very well earning points when we shop, but do you have any clue just how many points you're getting for each pound spent? Or even how much they are worth?
I've taken a look at the leading schemes that offer points: Tesco Clubcard, Sainsbury's Nectar and Boots Advantage.
Plus find out the minimum number of points you need in order to cash them out, and how much you'll need to spend at the supermarket to actually earn enough for this.

The boots card is fantastic! I usually let points build up so that I can splurge on pricier skincare and haircare items that I can't always afford to buy regularly, plus it's great for saving you money on xmas gift sets. I also signed up to airtime rewards exactly a year ago and in that time I've saved £50 on my mobile phone bills. Great video!

l was disappointed at being told by the cs staff that l can only redeem boots advantage points for products that are cheaper. l thought they could be used as part payment for a more expensive product. not possible? what is this airtime rewards?

Yes, you need to be able to cover the full purchase. But hopefully there's always something in Boots you need that's not too pricey

Nectar points are very easy to earn with the addition of the nectar app. If you shop at Sainsbury’s you should get the nectar app and link your card up and as you shop with your nectar card you will see weekly offers on the items you buy most frequently on the app where you can earn bonus points when buying any of the items, just save them all to your card each week (it updates every Wednesday) and shop as usual and the points are normally added within a day. I’ve earned anywhere from 10-200 bonus points per item. Nectar also regularly has bonus offers for eBay and Argos throughout the year too.

Yes totally! I don't have a big Sainsbury's near me to rarely shop at one, but it's well worth adding the offers to your card

Boots has always been worth it for me, I spend a lot in their and usually end up with £70-£100 in points a year. Their points events are so good too.

I wouldn't pick 10p off the floor the same way I can't be bothered to scan a loyalty card. Furthermore it will likely encourage me to shop more and I'll be worse off. Plus I'm giving up my data so that they can send targeted advertisements to me.

I love the boots advantage card. Although you only get 3 points for every £1 you spend now

I have found that the custom offers you get through the nectar app can really help boost your rewards eg. 150 points on vegan sausages that I like. If the offer comes round again and I still have some left over I buy more and freeze it. ❄️

Yeah, if I shopped at a Sainsbury’s I’d definitely be adding them to the app each time .

I have all the loyalty cards, but the most profitable for me have been nectar and boots advantage. If ASDA had a loyalty scheme, I'd have a billion points by now 😭

If Asda had a loyalty scheme I would be quids in! I live above one so it couldn't be more convenient. Even though I live 5 mins from Tesco's I'm still more likely to go to Asda, especially if it is raining. Tend to go to Tesco's when they have points events, or if I want flowers.

With the Boots card if you are on their contact lens scheme you get 10% off all own brand products.

@carriew5106
@carriew5106 3 жыл бұрын
I just found this video and was going to say the same. If you wear contacts I strongly recommend looking at the Boots Contact lens scheme. I found them to be cheaper than most of the other main opticians, but the benefits out weigh it and other savings. They include: • 1/2 price glasses and prescription sunglasses • 25% off non-prescription sunglasses • 10% off Boots branded products, including No7, Soltan, Ted Baker, Liz Earle etc • Inclusive eye tests, contact lens checks and contact lens delivery.

be great to get your opinion on utility point rewards, works for many stores, eg boots , sainsburys, tesco, asda, aldis, etc 7%,4%, 3.5%, 1.5% discounts respectively. l switched for month with utility point and used the tesco egift card for ~3.5% discount. really works
@BeCleverWithYourCash
@BeCleverWithYourCash 3 жыл бұрын
These discounts are decent if the service providing them is in itself worth paying for. Eg you can sometimes get similar ones from insurance providers, ISA mutuals, breakdown cover or even via a work perk scheme. With Utility Point it could be that you pay more for your energy over a year than from a different supplier than you make from the voucher discounts - or you could save more!

@@BeCleverWithYourCash great point, they were recommended by switch site, compared them to my x suppler edf, whose deemed tariff or even cheapest tariff were more expensive. so easy decision. after the 12 month contract they may increase, but if thats the case l switch.
