My favorite quote from this movie is “Ah... well I attended Julliard. I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I’ve seen the Exorcist about 167 times... AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER! EVERY... SINGLE... TIME I SEE IT!”

Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow is a more "traditional" movie that I think you will really enjoy. It has fewer weird aspects but still has Burton's signature look. It is also a great movie for Halloween. It's a retelling of the Headless Horseman story. Its Burton's most horror-themed movie. The Nightmare Before Christmas is another great Burton movie. It's clay-animation and a musical but very entertaining.

This film was originally a R Rated film with strong horror elements, and a bit of humor. Sammy Davis Jr, member of the Rat Pack, was going to play the role of Beetlejuice, and they he was a shapeshifting demon taking on various forms, including a short Middle Eastern man, a demonic Santa Claus, A psychotic Easter Bunny, and a winged monkey from the Wizard of Oz.

@RhinoVanDam Looks like "LKG", along with Cutthroat Island, helped kill her career for awhile, as they were box-office flops. Probably didn't help that her husband at the time, the director of both aforementioned films, had a "love-child" with Davis' PA around the same period, and that Davis took a couple years away from film after that. She's also remarked that decent roles dried up for her once she hit her 40s. She's still working, though, doing mainly TV stuff, and has spearheaded a lot of very important work on gender in Hollywood through the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Here's hoping we see more of her in future!

I agree that “A Clockwork Orange” is a masterpiece and is in fact my favorite Kubrick film, however, I do not think that would be a very good reaction video. This is a film that demands your full attention and imo his reactions would take away from his enjoyment of the film. Also “A Clockwork Orange” is one of those films that you need multiple viewings to fully appreciate it. First time I watched it my reaction was WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT?! But there was something that kept drawing me back to the film. It is now my second favorite film (after Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”), but it took about five viewings to get me there.

I have a very distinct memory of my parents coming home from seeing this movie. They LOVED it but said it was too scary for me to see. I was so bummed! I saw it a few years later though. My favorite Burton movie is Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (his first feature length). Please watch it!! I would LOVE to see your reaction to Pee-wee. It’s very funky and imaginative with some dark moments like in Beetlejuice too. Pee-wee got his TV series thanks to the success of the movie. He only did appearances in character too, was rare to see him as Paul Reubens anywhere in public or interviews.

I was a strange child in that I lived and breathed Tim Burton movies and their aesthetic. Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, etc. I daydreamed about going into the afterlife place they visited and meeting all the characters, being able to change my face and then change it back like they did, and so on. I recommend Edward Scissorhands as a starting point for Tim Burton's films. It's a lot more accessible than Beetlejuice and one of his best films. Also, Sleepy Hollow and Big Fish are great films from Burton too. Beetlejuice is almost the most out there film from him. I'd say Mars Attacks! is even crazier.

Ed Wood is literally one of my top 5 movies, it's so good. Saying that it's probably Tim Burton's most normal movie but does notably have his sense of humor I think. Absolute classic though in my opinion and my favourite Johnny Depp performance. Also Martin Landau as Bela Lugosi is one of the best performances I've ever seen ever and absolutely hilarious. Also side note, near the end, Keaton with bat wing ears.... That's so funny when you think about it.

Glad you enjoyed Beetle Juice, Brandon. Love this movie so much. Story is kind of eh, but the costumes and makeup work is just a visual feast of brilliance. Ve Neill is such a wonderful makeup artist. Her and her team won the Makeup Oscar for Beetle Juice. She worked with Tim Burton a lot. She also did Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street with Burton. And she did most of the Pee Wee Herman franchise too- films and show. There’s a story going around that she also worked on Bram Stoker’s Dracula and was responsible for most of the prosthetics for Dracula, but that credit isn’t on IMDb for some reason. She was also the Makeup department head for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies with Johnny Depp. Oh and Dick Tracy. She did the special character makeup for the various goons. That’s a movie I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it. That’s a style masterclass. And I totally forgot she also worked on Robin Williams’ look as Mrs. Doubtfire.

This was my fave all time film. For a long time I thought this was a horror with strong horror elements. In my late 30s now watched it again recently and it's very light hearted and soft. I first saw this film when I was 8. This is the type of film you have to see when you're young as there are a lot of surreal moments which a lot of adults will look thu. The mum from Home Alone was in this film first but its funny we all see her and say, 'it's the mum from Home Alone!'
