Korean is so great! When I lived in Texas there was an American diner that was run by a Korean couple. The menu was pretty standard diner food but they had some random Korean items on it. I tried the bulgogi since I ate meat then and I was going there at least twice a week

Yes, I often use scissors in the kitchen! It's so convenient when something needs cutting, but it's too much trouble to use a cutting board. Using scissors means I can chop it straight in the pot, pan, bowl etc - whatever the food's already in.

Hi, I've been living in Korea for about four years and recently decided to be on a plant based diet indefinitely! Your video made me realize just how much Korean cuisine has grown on me. I made my own 순두부 찌개 a day ago and as I was watching your video at a random 3 am youtube surfing session and the amount of salivation I experienced as you prepared bibimbab (psst I thought I always *hated* the combination of certain flavors when they're all thrown in one bowl, the beans sprouts and the Korean style extra chewy spinach when seasoned with sesame oil). I'm quite shocked to realize I'm low key loving my hate of the mix of these flavors. Guess who's making bibimbab!!! ( I'll definitely be adding these other ingredients, too!) *over sharing* but my favorite veg to add in the bibim bowl is gosari and the julienned sauted potatoes 😁😁😁 Thanks for creating this video!

We use kitchen scissors to cut up scallions (speciflcally the green parts). My Koreak mother-in-law uses them to cut up the sweet potato glass noodles when making japchae after the noodles have been cooked. We use them to cut large sheets of toasted seaweed into the smaller snack sizes.

Earlier this week I made myself yachaejeon for dinner, I added minced ginger, green onions and peas for some protein and I just could not believe how delicious this is when it's so easy so I made it again yesterday and paired with vegan bulgogi (made with minced soy meat) and Brazilian style white rice as it was what I had on hand (I know you don't pair yachaejeon like this but) it made me wanna taste more Korean food so bad. I already had Korean sweet crispy tofu before and Im interested in Korean food, mostly I want to try kimchi, bibimbap and tteokbokki

Not intimidated. I just don't have the ingredients where I live or even available to order online. Ordering from abroad is far too expensive too. No gochugaru even in online spice stores (that should be embarrassing for anyone running a spice store), no soft tofu of any kind, can't afford dried shiitake, can't afford gochujang, no sprouts (unless I make my own and to get the right kind you need to use the method Maangchi uses and I have no time for that or even water for it), no kimchi. 🥺 But ... I do use scissors a lot in the kitchen and I did enjoy the video and added it to the archives so that when Croatian spice stores shape up and I can afford gochujang, I can return and try these recipes. Thank you!

Hi big request: Could you please make a blog post with pictures of the different products and brands you enjoy for Korean food that’s vegan? I guess you could specify for Canada…. B/c with some brands they change things fr country to country. 🤔 Would make it helpful when shopping thanks! I tried searching Google first to see if you had one but didn’t see it. Maybe I’m typing in the wrong thing. Cuz I know you’ve done an H Mart shop but as it’s pricier there I don’t think that’s where you normally shop.
