@@JamesDeanDesigns I am somewhat struggling to get it to feed on the feed on the fillamment. Then nothing comes out during printing. Any help would be great pls

@@DUDEDRUNK check your machine is pulling it through, you can adjust the tension on the arm. You may also want to get something quit thin and check your nozzle is clear

@@JamesDeanDesigns Thank you for this James. I had somewhat managed to fix this issue that day but don't know if you can help with this issue. Now since this happened I cannot get this machine to print out anything right. Only 4 to 10 mins in the printing process, fillament will have issues sticking down on some parts or all of the sudden start dragging the some parts of the printed fillament which in turn drags everything else after. I have tried hairspray, adjusting settings in the cura slicer. Not sure if my settings are good. It is even worse when I use support. It is extremely frustrating and at this point I am starting to feel like this machine is a lost investment and not worth it. I will return this to seller next week if I keep having this issue. It is a big put off.

I'd suggest changing the PTFE tube out to Capricorn tubing. That's the only thing that failed for me. It took about a year of steady printing but it did eventually deform and cause a jam. I'd like to upgrade to aluminum build plates to even out the temperature across it but I can't justify the expense. I just print with about 12 brim lines and corners never lift. Love the X1s And my Sainsmart 3018! Seems we have similar taste in hobby toys! One day when I grow up I'd like to have a 4030 too, lol. Take care, James Happy printing!!

@@JamesDeanDesigns Change the idler arm for an aluminium one. Also, my bed was warped in the middle, just like many others. I've ordered me an aluminium heatbed with integrated magnets and a Biqu spring steel sheet. Also, I love my raspberry 4 with octoprint. Also, I've printed and installed Z axis support. Edit: also, I'll be installing octoklipper, so that the calculations aren't run on the main board which is only 8 bit, it'll speed things up by a lot, I imagine it'll be very fluid afterwards. Also... for the bed rollers, reinstall the middle two rollers! They are redundant and only make it much more difficult to adjust the traction correctly.

Hi Darren, thanks for the info. I think I started replying to you yesterday but it looked like the comment went. I did do a fair bit of research across various forums and chatted to quite a few people. It generally was "they're great machine but you need to do X, Y, Z....". I think what made my mind up in the end is essentially the fact there is 3 versions of the ender 3 and the consensus I was getting is the bed is better on one, the control board is better on another etc. To some degree I wish they had just focused on one model. It was the V2 I was about to purchase. I am loving 3D printing so far so who knows, I might still end up getting a V2 and seeing how I get on with that as well. Going back to the X1, the larger printing area was also a big plus point for me. I do follow teaching tech although I'm fairly certain he is sponsored by Creality as they feature him on their website 😉. Genuinely though, I'm always after tips and stuff from people more experienced that myself so do let me know. I had my first failed print Sunday night and already had to take the hot end assembly apart 🙈

The CR-10 v2 is a nice machine from what I have read, one thing I do like about it as opposed to the X1 is the supports on the Z axis. However it was just a fraction out of price range when I was looking. I think the V1 was cheaper but as with these things you typically want the better model if you know it exists

@@JamesDeanDesigns I don't have that printer I have the CR-10s Pro V2 however I did look into the one with the supports and found a fault with it when the printers X gantry is sent to the extreme of the Z-axis it crashes and grinds the stepper and I didn't fancy printing something tall and losing the print down to this, the printer has been around for a while but Creality have not fixed this bug,I have built a Pro 3D V-King with 400mm all round and belted Z-axis and this printer and its prints are perfect and if were not for the enormous cost ( I stopped counting after £1000 ) I would have built a second one

Thanks. All sliced in Cura. I read it had quite a good standard profile for the X1 and so far it has. I have nothing really to compare to but few people say its a little slower than other slicer profiles. I won't act like I know what I'm doing yet though, still have a lot of calibration to do.

Yes thats the Z limit switch. You need to adjust it so the hot end gets close to the bed but doesn't hit it. You then adjust the bed accordingly to get the correct gap you need on all the corners

I also bought a Davinci as my first printer but managed to sell it within a couple of months, I bought from a recommendation from Which, whose advice I will never trust again.

Hi Andrew, I think I've upset mine. It's been running all day. It's currently on the 4th part of something I had to split to get onto the 8" square print bed. It's on the biggest part of the 4 and almost fills the bed but it's sticking ( so far) (48 minutes in) nearly 3 hours to go. I can't believe it. Never had such good results from it ? ? ? ? It's noisy though and my Wife's in the next room . . . working from home! I'm still alive but for how long ? ? ? :) I hope there's plenty of safety allowance on the spool of filament or it'll run out before the job's finished.

No, but that is because there is a lot of really good free software already available. I use TinkerCAD to design and Cura to slice

they do run extremely close. Make sure you belts have enough tension and that your nozzle isnt too close for the first layer as that can throw everthing else off

From what I understand you have to solder it to the reset button, I dont think that board has a connection for it

I think like most things, its all about expectations - aim low and avoid disappointment :) . But you are right, these still are budget machines. I've been pretty happy so far, one or two kinks but just a mountain to get my head around with so many different settings and options for temps, speeds, retraction etc. I'll just keep chipping away

Haven't got stung with anything although I think this was in their UK warehouse. I should have another item arriving on Monday which is from China so I will find out then if I get stung

Im guessing you mean USB stick not USB cable? If so just a regular USB memory stick, doesnt need to be too large, 4GB is more than sufficient
