The People's Court

Жыл бұрын

The plaintiff says she hired the defendant and paid her in full to install a new window. She claims it’s a scam company, because she still doesn’t have the window a year later. She’s suing for a refund. The defendant says she ordered the custom window, but the wrong one arrived. She reordered another one, but the plaintiff wanted out of the deal. The defendant claims it’s not fair since she is out for a restocking fee and prep work.

Well that's too bad because the internet sleuths found them anyway. I found this article about them: "The owner of a Nassau County contracting business burglarized homes he was remodeling and his wife then sold some of the stolen items, police said Friday. Nicholas Anastasio, 35, and his wife, Jacqueline Anastasio, 34, both of South Seamans Neck Road in Seaford, are scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead, Nassau police said. Nicholas Anastasio is charged with three counts of second-degree burglary; police said he took a computer from a North Bellmore home on Bristol Drive in July 2015, and a shotgun and jewelry from two different Levittown homes - on Ann Lane last Friday and on Surrey Lane on Tuesday. Jacqueline Anastasio is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Second Squad detectives said Nicholas Anastasio, a self-employed contactor under the business name Platinum Touch Contracting, removed the property “while performing residential home improvements.” Anastasio and his wife were arrested Thursday. In addition to selling some of the stolen property, his wife also was in possession of two assault rifles, police said. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Platinum Touch is urged to call the Second Squad at 516-573-6253."

Exactly, you actually have the budget and the connections to fulfill a job. I watch many videos from hard money loaners for real estate investing. Those contractors that ask for money up front means they do not have the money to support the project themselves and are not the ones we should be hiring. They’re also the same that dont itemize things, like provides a quote, “$10,000 to replace all the windows.” Umm ok, how many windows? How much was the purchase of the windows and how much was labor to install them?

Anytime the defendant don't want their name and the company mentioned I already know they did something sketchy.

So basically, these two scammers are living off of other people's money. So basically, they are basically a pane in the glass for those who they have scammed. She has to stop lying for her husband and to learn more words to replace the word 'basically.'

Burglary is entering a home or dwelling with the intent to commit a crime. The "intent to commit a crime" is the key to burglary.

Great verdict. Both the husband and wife must we watched like a hawk. The gall of people that make their problem other people's problem and then chastise them over it is unbelievable. You can't do the work because of a personal crisis? well, subcontract someone to do it at a loss. That's the breaks when you commit to doing a job. His aunt died??! OMG. He must've been devastated. Probably hasn't seen her in 10 years.

ok, i think the first reason is that the defendant husband is a coward and does not want to be on tv. The defendant is a stupid woman. Come on, really? lies on lies. never give money until the results are done. God bless the Judge. yay for the plantiff

The defendant had an excuse for everything. They clearly were trying to scam the plaintiff. They intentionally ordered the wrong window in order to stall for more time and create another excuse. They only ordered the correct window after she sued them.
