The plaintiff says she and the defendant were roommates, but things didn’t work out with the temperamental defendant. She’s suing for the value of her belongings after the defendant threw them out on the street. The defendant says the plaintiff is lying. She alleges her former friend stole her items and donated them, so she’s countersuing for their worth.

It might be possible that she threw those things out the window because she got fed up with her. If they weren't talking, it was because of an ongoing issue.. We can't really know the whole story by watching a 15 minute clip of a case.

I swear when the judge was tearing the defendant a new one she looked like she was about to cry. I wonder how much of what the judge said actually sticks... Bet her ego is bruised too.. Communication is key. Even if you strongly dislike the person, good clear communication could save your butt from things like this happening...

The defendant was dead wrong. Her friend didn’t have to “try to make her look crazy” her behavior was crazy. I wish the plaintiff had gotten more.

Me too. I think she should have got $1,000, and the rest of it should have been punitive damages. She didn't get a criminal record for this, she needs to get some real consequences (although I'm not sure the losers actually pay in this show / binding arbitration).

Wow, the Defendant really thought she was justified in destruction of property because the plaintiff yelled at her. It was a miscommunication. It sounds like the plaintiff realized the defendant wasn't a positive influence on her life and cut it off.

This literally could have been avoided if the defendant said "Hey, I'm keeping the stuff in Daphne's room, so I'll clean it out." She knew they had to leave so why in the world would she think that the plaintiff would just leave the stuff if it wasn't claimed?

Maybe it’s a girl thing or their age, but I had roommates in my early 20s and one that I wasn’t talking to, would literally avoid whenever I heard them in the home, but I absolutely communicated very clearly through text to avoid any confusion on moving out day haha and because of the communication, things went very smoothly despite us not talking or getting along.

@@Lisa111999888 the girls who stuff it was already moved out prior and abandoned all her things there and told them they could do whatever they wanted with the stuff and it was moving day so yeah it was the responsibility of the remaining girls living there to get it out of the apartment. She was totally in the right. Did you even watch the case because all of this was clearly said multiple times? Honestly just curious because I am so confused why you would say that..

I have a friend with a daughter the same age as the litigants. She was moving out of her parents house and into an apartment with 3 other girls, all her closest friends. I told her, "Don't expect to be friends in 6 months" and sure enough- they all hate each other now and broke their lease to move out. It's a shame, but it happens way too often, especially with young women.

What I got from the Exit Interviews is that the the Defendant used to take advantage of the Plaintiff but when the Plaintiff came back from Italy she was more wiser and started standing up for herself and the Defendant didn’t like that .. yeah I’m glad the Plaintiff got away from her .

So defendant asks daphne if she can have xyz. Daphne said sure. Wasnt communicated to plantiff, who only knew stuff had to be cleared bc their tenancy was over. So plantiff cleared stuff out.

That defendant is going to have a criminal record by the time she is 40, because if I would have been the plaintiff, she would already have one. I also think the plaintiff should have asked for punitive damages and she should have gotten it. That defendant hasn't gotten any real punishment for her actions, and without real consequences the behaviour doesn't change.
