I pulled it out and I have been experimenting like crazy and even tinkering with drone 360s. I have my sights on the Mi Sphere or the Theta V as my entry into a quality 360 camera. Hey Ben, I've accumulated a ton of great content with my Mi Sphere, but have yet to compile and edit any of it becuase the current workflow sucks when working with an iPhone X and a Mac computer with Final Cut X.. Ben! Great video, really helpful. I got a Theta S a year or so ago, love the simplicity and the design, but I'm looking for an upgrade. I use it for photos rather than videos, and it seems to have a really conspicuous stitching line, especially if the sun is in shot, that is almost impossible to edit out. Is this a known issue, and do any of your top 10 cameras avoid this? I'm attracted by the Mi or even the Theta V, if that has addressed the stitching issue.

Good video Ben as ever, I bought the Fusion some months back based on your review and have to say I'm very pleased with it. Now it's even better as GoPro have released a number of software and firmware updates improving the stability. Most of my films are for action sports (cycling, skiing and motorcycling) so it's the perfect camera for that. Battery life is great too especially when used with the remote control.

Hey Ben - Great video mate. From the video, I understand that the Mi Sphere and Ricoh could be good options for me. But just thgt I will confirm with you as my knowledge on cams are zilch. This is to create virtual tours. Hence, lighting will not be a problem. I just need good quality on the properties around the room. I have a budget of 400$. DO you suppose my choices are good ?

In your opinion what would be a good 360 camera that does well-to-great in these two categories: good video stabilization (like for mountain biking or mounting on a drone/performing vanilla drone maneuvers) and streams to Facebook or KZfaq in 4k 360 video? Just got the gear 360 2017 sad to see it the end of the list but I got it for $60 and anything is a step up from my current 360 camera (LG 360)

Ben/anyone, No idea what to get, want a 360 camera for mounting on a pole on the back of my motorcycle. Needs to be waterproof to handle rain and small so as not to get beat up by the wind and air pressure at speed. Would also prefer being able to use an external power source so i'm not riding through great views with a dead battery. Totally new to this so know nothing at the minute, I know i'm asking a lot but can anyone recommend something suitable?

I got the rylo early on and I must say they have improved a lot with updates. They have a wireless bluetooth app connection, and now with the latest update you can edit the material IN the camera (with cable) without downloading it to your phone.

Hi Ben, you're a big fan of dynamic range - have you tried the Gear 360 in Landscape HDR?

My budget is a lowly $300...I noticed that there is no mention of these: Nikon Keymission or Kodak PIXPRO ORBIT360. Both "real name" camera brands. If they are not as good as the Xiaomi Mi Sphere, then I guess I'll just get that. I need something to shoot VR home tours. Can you offer a suggestion, Ben? Thanks!

I was thinking of getting a 360 camera, I wanted non 360 footage tho. Like the ability to pick and choose the angles and footage as i needed them. Is this something inherent to the camera or with the editing software?

I've been using GoPro Fusion for a few months. It is great. When I mount on cycling helmet, there has been 2 times that stabilization does not work in GoPro Fusion Studio. Most of the times, it worked well. Do you know how to fix those 2 clips?

Hi, thanks for providing all of this information across all of your videos. I started wanting to grab a 360 gear to record my wedding and 3 days later I had no idea what to do. The gopro omni videos are by far the best. But even renting equipment it’s out of my price range and It will take a team of friends to render the video. Anyway, I have finally settled for renting the gopro fusion. We are recording our wedding on a sunny beach at 2pm. Any tips for how to record this, mount the cam, etc would be awesome. My 15 year old son will play around with the fusion. A friend will cover typical video and a photographer will take photos. So this is just a 360 for fun for my son and so we can look back at it on a vr headset.

I have the Insta360 One and love it. It is my second 360 camera, but my first was just a single lens. Still beginning, but learning along the way. I use it on my ipad with no issues.

I just bought the GoPro Fusion and really like it. The overcapture is my favorite feature. I love going back and getting to control the pan and tilt of the camera as if it were live.

Great video as always, but I'm really surprised Insta360 one X didn't make your list. I've owned several of the cameras on your list. I used to really love my Rylo but insta360 one X is my favorite now.

Nice video Ben, video and photo quality should be the first to consider, i totally agreed with u that GoPro should be the No.1 if don't compare to the price. May be u can consider to include battery life and water / weather proof on your next review.

Ben - Can't tell you how much I appreciate your 360 Cam vids. I'm an Uber driver. Just looking for something that I can plop on the top of my car, can withstand the elements, and I can leave running for 10-12 hours. I'm leaning towards the GoPro Fusion because I know it can withstand the elements, but my only question is: does it record in the ancient resolution known as 1080p? Otherwise I'm going to have to be swapping out memory cards every 6 hours and that's not something I'm willing to do. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey Ben, thank you for all the information you provide about all of that! It really helped/ will help me, making a desicion about what camera to buy. Two weeks ago I picked up a Theta V at a local store after much consideration. I did love the looks, the workflow was foolproove, the pretty much perfect stitching line and the close-to-the-camera performance without being turned into a cyclops when passing from one lense to the other. What I didn't like, was that all three cameras, that I exchanged at the store one after the other, hat a lense, that was totally out of focus at some regions of the picture. You could even see, that the one lense was put in just not quite straigt into the casing. So I returned it and was a bit disappointed by the Theta. Plus, since picture quality of still photos is most important to me, I was not really convinced by the resolution, even in the parts of the picture, where it was as sharp as it was supposed to be. The 14(?) MPs is fine for the usage in social media, of course for the use with mobile devices, but when you wanna do virtual tours to view on a 27" screen (which I intend), it's just not briliant at all. Also a RAW mode would have been great, I think the internal HDR mode overdid it a bit on most occasions. So now (thanks to you, again) I'm getting used to the idea of getting your all time favorite (?), the Mi Sphere/ Madventure. Don't know, why I didn't check that one out before, I think it wasn't avaliable on (german) Amazon by that time I was looking. Anyways, I like the looks of it, I like that it's about as flat at the Theta V and I probably will love the extra 10MP compared to the ThetaV. Since still immages are my main concern, I could just go for it, but when playing around with the ThetaV I kinda really liked the video feature also. But I read (and you told), that for Mac/ iPhone users, it's a pain in the ass to get the videos stitched in full resolution ...at least, as long as you don't own professional grade video cutting/ editing software as premiere or you don't wanna buy another (android) phone. I like, that somebody came up with that work around for still images (as you showed in your tutorial), but has someone come up with a quick and easy solution for the video? I will probably still order the Mi Sphere, just for stills, but it would be great to be able to use that 3,5-4K videofunktion as well, on occasion! Thanks again and keep up the good work! :)

I bought the insta360 after your previous video. I like it a lot. Its perfectly simpel and I can do everything post in on my phone. Dont want the hazel of downloading and doing post on a computer. I make short fix frame videos og electric skateboarding and the free capture feature is great for that. I want simplicity over image quality.

Don’t know if I missed it or if it’s a new feature, but I managed to get a full res (4K) video off the misphere to Mac with a detour from mi sphere -> iPad Pro -> Mac desktop. Haven’t tried it with my iPhone se yet but I will some time the next days and post the result. This makes the mi sphere the ideal 360 camera for Mac users on a budget (cause they spend all their money on the Mac products) in my opinion, after about a week of owning that camera! 😬👍🏻

Please correct me if I'm wrong , the Virb is the only 360 camera with a water resistant power connector option. This option would make it great for moto vlogging on an Adventure Motorcycle for example. Just drop in a large memory card and hit record. No worries about the weather or battery life.
