@@mikeworkman1759 Cubic feet of cargo space: 2023: 98.2 2024: 97.6. It's not bigger, it's built on the same platform as before with new sheetmetal, drivetrain, and interior. In fact you can see some of the parts like the rear cargo area have not changed at all. All of the dimensions are essentially the same. Traverse has been the largest in its class since it was introduced in 2008.

Explorer ST all day everyday. I think the exterior looks more sleek and the performance features go WAY beyond the extra horsepower. The Traverse RS only looks sporty, where the Explorer ST is sport performance all around--brakes, engine, steering, suspension, anti sway bars, etc.

I just got a RS fully loaded yesterday May 17 I love it a beautiful vehicle inside and out I don’t need to race to the next stoplight. I need to get to the next stoplight and luxury and comfort and that’s what a fully loaded RS is plenty of power. But you need to see the RS at night on the inside Wow I’m happy and please with my purchase I made a good move and it’s only for me. No kids just a wife with her own luxury vehicle.. I put a order in January 13 for the RS came off truck May 13 I haven’t spent no more than 30 minutes in the vehicle because I had to go straight to work when I picked it up on Wednesday I’m only 10 to 15 minutes from my job. You will be pleased if you can get your hand on a fully loaded RS

Sorry, for $58k I can get a high output CX-90 with an inline 6 cylinder, maybe Chevy should put a luxurious powertrain in their “luxurious” car…

@@GaryGrafall the problems? Mines at 30k miles, did 26 hours straight with no stops besides gas, and has been off pavement more than most jeeps… yet it’s only been in the shop for oil changes. So again, what problems am I experiencing?

Well in spite of the traverse having better styling I like the explorer better. I priced the 2025 today and noticed they turned that screen sideways like it should have been. The ST I made came to almost 62k.

The new Traverse engine (328/326) does have more HP(18) & TrQ (60) than previous V6. It’s also a modified 2.7 for trans-verse applications.

I find it interesting how we think it terrible to have a family vehicle now with less than 300hp. Yet back in the 1960s for example, consider the average American family vehicle like a Chevy Impala, which came standard with a 185hp V8 or an optional 250hp engine. They were not considered very slow vehicles at the time either, as a Shelby Mustang had around 335hp as a performance vehicle. Now we look at this new 325hp Traverse and consider it subpar to the ST Explorer. lol crazy, and what’s crazier is thinking $50,000 is a suitable price for what comes down to a family vehicle! My 2 cents lol

Great review! You said while driving the Explorer that both look sporty, the Ford feels sporty. When you drove the Chevy, did you put in the Sport mode? I ask because in other reviews, after putting the Chevy in Sport mode, there was an apparent Wow factor afterwards.

I'm buying the z71. The Ford looks very out dated. I've looked at almost every 3rd row suv. The Traverse was by far best in class. 53k was a pretty decent deal.

BIG downer to the Explorer line in general. No wireless Apple car play and SYNC system sucks streaming music. Glitches randomly from time to time. I’ve had 2 different explorers now 22 and 23 models. Same sync system. The infotainment in the Traverse and just about every other car with these price points destroys the Explorers. If you really want an Explorer wait until the 25!!!! Big upgrade coming for infotainment

I haven't owned a Chevy since my 1974 Nova, but I have to say, they have done a great job with the Traverse redesign. I'm not a fan of the Acadia interior at all. I'm waiting for the 2025 Tahoe.

You should see the inside of it at night. It’s a really impressive truck and let me tell you that four-cylinder turbo charge it gets up and go.

The Traverse for me. I like the look of it with its brawny body on frame style presence. The Explorer as always is a very good vehicle and more performance oriented, but its not for me.

The best turbo 4 I've driven is the Volvo XC90. They built it really well. If you didn't know you won't even realize you were driving a 4 cylinder engine.

I’m curious why you always seem to park that way so that it makes it hard to maneuver when leaving? Seems like it would make sense to just park in such a way to make it easier to pull the cars out

The front looks good in black, but in other colors, the grill looks pretty nice, but the lights look awkward, and that reverse shark fin on the back side window is odd looking, Explorer I think was a nice looking design, but is looking dated now, and I am not sure of the 25 update, I don't think it's nicer on the outside, inter will be better though.

The ST feel like they shouldnt be moving that fast when you floor them in sport lol. Ridiculous power. I went ST although I do like the sporty RS looks. There really is no comparison performance wise though. If the Explorer has brembos and more of a cobraesk front end I would have no beef spending over 60K for it even though I bought one anyway

Ford sold 60,000 Explorers in 1st quarter of 2024. Coming in 2nd was Toyota Highlander at 32,000. Of course Ford sells about 5,000 Police Explorers/month.

@@EarWormSound ... yeah, the 2025 update doesn't seem to be all that noticeable. Slight facelift making it slightly more boxy, slight changes to headlights and tail lights. The touchscreen on the interior grew a little from 10' to 13'. And they cut down the trim levels down to 4. Otherwise, not much changed that I can tell.

Definitely RS Just overall better looking and more tech. But I can't deny would love a 400+ HP V6 option, even though the 4 has more torque and HP than the 3.6 V6 that went away.

The Explorer is 5 year old design. So not a fair comparison to newly designed Traverse. The refreshed 2025 Explorer should be out early summer sometime. Chevy has done nice job with this new model. Should be a winner for them.

It’s not Chevy’s fault Ford has waited to see what Chevrolet would be offering before refreshing their Explorer. The issue is the design was never class leading to begin with nor futuristic enough to remain competitive without a mid-cycle enhancement.

Ben should have waited a couple months since the 2025 Explorer is being built at CAP right now with all new dashboard, new touchscreen, new front and rear clips, and new tech. I like the new Traverse and 2025 Explorer would be better comparison since it will be hitting dealer lots soon.

That vertical screen on the Explorer looks absolutely awful. Traverse is as close as you can get to a minivan without being a minivan. In fact the passenger space is the same as minivans, though it has a lot less cargo space since the seats don't fold into the floor.

What’s even worse is Apple carplay/android auto integration. That only takes up the top half of the screen. Making effectively a 5” display screen for carplay.

Agree on the exterior, 100% as for the interior, Chevy has been aesthetically unpleasing for years. Terrible button design and look on everything they make... and that engine is pathetic. Explorer is the clear winner overall. Good review.

to sum this all up this traverse rs is the one that looks like it should have the 400 horsepower an the 2024-2025 explorer st should have the 328 horsepower. in other words the ford looks like a typical soccer practice suv where as this traverse looks more like either terminator or barracade. also to the uploader bro before you give your opinion on a vehicles power at least put it in sport mode if it has one which the traverse does

2.5 4 cyl turbo vs 3.0 twin turbo v6. The ford comes with a much much better breaking system compared to the chevy and its all wheel drive system is much better than chevys. The ST will demolish the Chevy.

I would prefer the ford explorer st if they have fixed all the electronic issues with the back up camera and the cluster glitching while having the ac on a super hot day.till this day can find dealers selling them with the blue screen 🫤
