I bought one earlier this year and it was a nightmare. First inspection it was in very good condition, took the grips off, had a broken tab. Disappointing, but not too bad. But little did I know, the lanyard loop was loose which was odd. I compared it to images, and it was bent, turns out it was dropped and broke the weld for the loop, to the extent it could be pulled out. Luckily I managed to send it back, but the ulcer it caused was not refundable. A shame considering I've wanted a 34 for a long time. If it was not for that loop being broken, I would have been happy with it. Not the first bad experience with Rguns, my Type 54 had a loose rear sight to the point of being able to pushed out by hand, luckily loctite was sufficient. Bad luck seems like a habit for me. The arrow looked like a modification, but it turns out later 1934's (these were early 70's) have that from the factory. These unfortunately were rare guns before modification, they were guardia di finanza contract guns, they had 1/2" ish longer barrels than the standard 1934.

Sounds awful! I’ve certainly had my share of an unlucky draws as well when it comes to surplus. Didn’t realize the arrow was something from the factory; I’ve seen a few other post-war 1934’s that didn’t have it either so I assumed it must’ve been a later modification.

@@hobofactory I will also say they were rude about it, dismissing it initially "what do you expect it's a 50 year old gun", when it doesn't fit the description they advertised it as. I would be lying if I wasn't some what tempted to try again, since I really did like it even more after handling it. I'm going to guess and bet it's probably a 1960's and later thing with the safety, it certainly looked out of place at first glance.
