You can examine all your spent steel cases. Look for dents, scratching, irregular primer strikes etc.... This may give you a better understanding of what is happening during the cycle of operation of your rifle.

I have a few USGI Carbines , one being an M1A1 Paratrooper . I then bought an Auto Ordnance AOM150 Paratrooper . All shoot accurate and no malfunctions with 10,15 & 30 round mags . They are just light , accurate fun rifles to carry and shoot . I do prefer the mags with the good open follower’s but I have a duke mixture of GI and what ever I picked up along the way and all seem to work . Gun Mag Warehouse has a bunch and you can buy singles or they have the Korean KCI in 10 packs . Currently the 15 rnd. are $ 87.99 and the 30 rounders are 109.99 per ten pack . If you want a chest rig for your M1 Carbine check out Olongapo Outfitters as the have them for 15 round and 30 round mags as well as the. Butt stock pouch and some for your belt . If your like me , they also make them for Garand’s and AR’s and Ak’s and 7.62x51MM as well as pistols . Now if we can only petition PSA to add M1 Carbine ammo to their AAC ANMO line at a reasonable price ( like their 300 Blk) !!!!!

I bought one earlier this year and it was a nightmare. First inspection it was in very good condition, took the grips off, had a broken tab. Disappointing, but not too bad. But little did I know, the lanyard loop was loose which was odd. I compared it to images, and it was bent, turns out it was dropped and broke the weld for the loop, to the extent it could be pulled out. Luckily I managed to send it back, but the ulcer it caused was not refundable. A shame considering I've wanted a 34 for a long time. If it was not for that loop being broken, I would have been happy with it. Not the first bad experience with Rguns, my Type 54 had a loose rear sight to the point of being able to pushed out by hand, luckily loctite was sufficient. Bad luck seems like a habit for me. The arrow looked like a modification, but it turns out later 1934's (these were early 70's) have that from the factory. These unfortunately were rare guns before modification, they were guardia di finanza contract guns, they had 1/2" ish longer barrels than the standard 1934.

@hobofactory 26 күн бұрын
Sounds awful! I’ve certainly had my share of an unlucky draws as well when it comes to surplus. Didn’t realize the arrow was something from the factory; I’ve seen a few other post-war 1934’s that didn’t have it either so I assumed it must’ve been a later modification.

@@hobofactory I will also say they were rude about it, dismissing it initially "what do you expect it's a 50 year old gun", when it doesn't fit the description they advertised it as. I would be lying if I wasn't some what tempted to try again, since I really did like it even more after handling it. I'm going to guess and bet it's probably a 1960's and later thing with the safety, it certainly looked out of place at first glance.

I didn't chrono it, but years ago, I had a couple of boxes of czech 7.62x25. This stuff was steel cased and came packed on stripper clips. The rounds felt really hot and they were steel core. The sparking against the range backstop was noticeable and set off a residual powder fire for about 30 seconds. about 25% of the cases had a split at the case mouth. I believe this ammo was made for their sub guns.

I'm not that far from Burgaw so i just went in person. Second time some inbred redneck came out from back and said it was within tolerances? It works fine now but will be my only JRA.

When I got it, there was not a single blem on it. I’ve run around 800 rounds through it and it has literally been flawless. Very fun to run and shoot. Years back when I had a CZ 52, I was warned that the Bulgarian 7.62 X 25 was the bad over pressure ammo. And to avoid it use in the 52. Some of the Czech military stuff has a steel core, (sintered iron?) and is prohibited from import and commercial sale by the feds. It's packed on steel stripper clips, to be used by the magazine loader mounted on the forearm of the Czech sub guns.

Production moved to mostly Israel using Bulgarian Arcus parts in the early 90s around 1992, production fully ceased in 1996 after the American Parent Company JO Arms folded. This is why many Kareens are double import marked unless they're original 1990s imports

I just bought an M43 at the local gun show last weekend for $250. Numbers matching, missing bottom rear sling swivel, cracked handguard, very filthy. Took a gamble on the bore, it’s very worn but does shoot well (haven’t put on paper yet). Started refinishing the stock, ordering some parts for it, and planning to reblue everything due to unforeseen rust. This is my second Mauser, have a 1909 Argentine I dearly love. Very excited to have the Spanish M43 as I didn’t know they even existed

@YungQuant25
@YungQuant25 Ай бұрын
@@jacobseraphin685 I wouldn't say Polish guns are mixed quality. They're amazing, I own a FB Radom Beryl, and I can say for certain they're high quality. It's really only Pioneer Arms that's poor quality. Pioneer Arms is a newer company that made a factory in Radom. They've been using the name "Radom" and posing as the Circle 11 plant (which was the name for FB Łucznik Radom when under communist rule) to trick people into believing they're buying from a company that's been making AKs since the Cold War. Aside from Pioneer Arms, the rest of the Polish companies are top notch. FB Łucznik Radom makes some of the best AKs on the US market, with only Saigas and Arsenals rivaling their quality. WBP isn't as high end as FB Radom, but they still make excellent AK rifles for the price point. They also produce firearms and some parts for the Polish military and police market, and I believe they've been contracted by FB Radom for parts quite often. If it wasn't for Pioneer Arms, I'd say anything coming out of Poland is quality.

I also have a Pioneer Sporter and tried both Promag 5.56 mags in it. The non steel lined WASR ones would lock in but I absolutely could not charge with significant leverage or using a rubber mallet. I returned both of them. For the steel lined versions they locked up but very tightly and I can see material coming off of the sides. Otherwise I can actually charge sometimes it takes a bit of effort but it’s durable. Do you also have issues charging with those promags?
@hobofactory
@hobofactory 2 ай бұрын
I have not run into the same problem with the steel-lined ProMag (I just had to do a little filing on the rear corner for the mag to clear the center pin in the receiver so that the mag would even insert). I did have your issue with one of the all-polymer ProMags (but not others, goes to show their consistency). As I recall, the issue was the very bottom of the bolt carrier wasn’t clearing that notch at the very back of the magazine between the feed lips. Filing some additional relief in the magazine seemed to fix it.
