Hi everyone,
Today My friend Abbott and myself take out the Bergara B14 HMR and his Woodland Bergara B14 HMR both in .308win. I hope you enjoy this video and please like and subscribe to the channel to support more content that you will love to see. I appreciate you. We shoot at an 8 inch steel plate placed at 400 yards and a stake with some balloons on it. In the middle or so of the video you will not see a balloon or two get shot. I'm still learning the editor the best I can and I had to sync the target cam with the trigger pulls. As a bonus I brought out the Uberti Cattleman ii 45 Colt, Henry Lever Action 45 Colt and the Ruger 10/22. We shoot these a little bit at 25 Yards then have a 3 Shot Comp at 50yds with the Uberti. We didn't get time to shoot the Freedom Glock 9mm and the M&P Shield 9mm due to a couple local people coming and chatting with us for over an hour. Shout out to The Ordinance SGT Channel. Dude you are awesome and I hope you see this! Today probably isn't my greatest day of shooting but we had a lot of fun and I hope I can take you guys on more of these shooting adventures as my channel evolves. Thank you so much for watching. Stay tuned for the SHTF rifle that has not been introduced yet. If you would like to send me an email please see the email below. Right now I currently have no sponsors or paid promotions. However my goal of this channel is to eventually have sponsors to be able to afford better camera work and editing software to bring you better reviews and unboxings of different guns and accessories. Edit: I kept say Bergara Woodland it's the Bergara Wilderness Series.
Update: Lunch was bought. Couple Solid parkers gas station hot sandwiches and a drink.

The b14 .308 loves that 168grain. Ive watched so many videos of people testing different loads. It always seems to love those 168 match. I gotta get some myself. I zeroed my b14 and then haven't shot it since. I was hitting my 4 inch steel at 300 yards after zero. Such a good rifle.

I agree. I tested so many different loads and it always goes back to the federal match 168gr SMKs. I haven't got to shoot it since last year which sucks. Just been keeping busy through Army schools and college and a move etc. I've almost got my garage cleared enough to get the bench going again.

Great shooting. If I could offer some advice on your trigger technique; It’s to squeeze and hold the squeeze for a 1sec count before releasing. This should help with slight left pull or right push. Just my observations. Also if possible stiffening the bipod cant and preloading it is helpful too. Way back in the 80s when I was on my units shooting team our instructor always said “If you look after the little things, the big things look after themselves”. I’ve strived to do this in most facets of my life. Good shooting guys. “Fail to plan-Plan to fail”

Thanks man. I completely agree. I normally do. But it was definitely a stress shoot. And I learned a lot from doing it. I only had 20min of recording time on the target camera and had to run back from down range and start sending rounds. What branch were you? I'm currently an active duty engineer.

No issues on the 20" barrell. Obviously, I'm not a sniper or anything, but I have pushed this rifle reliably past 1k at a 10in using 168gr federal gold medal match ammo. I picked it up for 900 and spent 900 on the Vortex Viper PST gen2 FFP in MRADs, with a 20 MOA rail from leupold. It's reliable as hell, and I feel it brings you into a different level of shooting. It's not a 6k dollar custom rifle or anything, but I feel like it gets you in the range where you can start competing in some PRS matches if you wanted to.

I hope that helps. In a nutshell, it's an animal. And it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Recommendations would be to check the action screws though if you do get one and ensure they are torqued to spec. They require between 55in lbs and are know for sometimes loosening a bit. Nothing a bit of loctite can't fix though if needed.

Mine had walked out after about 4 months of shooting. I tighten them down to 60 inch lbs now and I have not had a single issue. It's subjective. I generally consider anything beyond 300yds to be in the realm of long range. However, I see 500yds is where a lot of skill really starts to show. I'm definitely not the greatest shooter on the planet but I try. Some variables in consideration here are, it's essentially a stress shoot. The target camera only had 20min of recording time and we sprinted back to the firing point where we had to almost immediately lay down rounds.

No real danger. Not blasting into oblivion. Aiming directly at a tree in which a steel plate is tied to. And next to and behind it is a forest. The bullet won't make it through all that wood or curve around any. I would say no more dangerous than hunting and having other hunters around in the area, which there usually is.

@@caseysammobench thats fine you've done a risk assessment and if the balloon doesn't slow it down before you n a fluke it hits a hunter you have done your safety assessment. Although even hunters are liable for where their bullets end up. Personally I would spend the few dollars on a mound of sand over risking my house on a ricochet.

@Alasdair Macleod the forest is about 20yards behind the balloons. Almost directly in line with the steel plate on a tree. For the risk assessment. There is zero houses for close to 40 miles beyond said tree line if not further as it is several WMAs connected together. That paired with not shooting over the tree line and directly into what essentially is a good back stop (a forest) pairs well for safe shooting. I do appreciate your input, however. Just stating the fact that precautions were met as well as speaking with a couple near by land owners to let them know I was on the WMA and firing that direction. As you are correct sure a few truck loads of sand would be safer. Just not necessary and a massive extra step, with a big financial investment for a day shoot at 400 yards.

So in England we HAVE to know what we are shooting at AND BEYOND! How do you know what’s in those woods behind? What if people are walking there?

I appreciate your comment and concern. I can assure you all the neccessary precautions were taken. Between knowing the area I'm in and talking to the bordering property owners. Beyond that, truck loads of sand are absolutely not necessary for this specific instance.

Lol, will do. It's from the KZfaq edit. Thought it would be cool at first 😆. This is a pretty early on video. Acquiring some better equipment so I can do a similar one. Check back in a few hours and it should be out of there.
