If you redo the test, I'd like to see the addition of a control (nothing), and heat-gun removal methods, as well as varying types of adhesives/labels (paper, plastic, vinyl, double-sided foam tape, etc.) Also, a variety of poor conditions such as high heat & uv exposure, hot/cold/hot/cold, buried in dirt, etc. The environmental conditions can greatly impact adhesive properties, which might better identify a real all-around winner. Even better if you can give us a side by side, or an equally timed soak or other treatment comparison. I'd push for a cost/benefit ratio analysis, but that might be asking a little too much 😅

Glad you did this review. I was going to get goof off to remove some tough scruffs, but I definitely changed my mind after this. I have pets and also have asthma, so anything with strong fumes is out of the question.

Just got back from a dealership service center where they quoted $450 for a new RAM emblem, to replace the old one. I had the "R" fall off from the RAM on the passenger's side of the truck and it is not ruined or cracked. It's still serviceable, so, I'll go out and get some goo gone and double-sided adhesive to remount it, saving myself about $435! Thanks.

Gloves when working with petroleum distillates is always a good idea. Of note is what lighter fluid or other chemicals you tested can do to a painted surface. Thanks for the video.

This was very informative. I’m not sure how we the audience were supposed to see the efficacy of the different products on the plastic container when you had left the original label for the container inside. I found it hard to see how well they worked when all I could see was the image of candy that was printed on the paper packaging inside the container. I don’t mean to be rude but if you do any more tests like this in a video, please take the label out of the container first 🙂

Would like to see a test on a large amount of sticker adhesive over painted wood. I have tried 3 M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, let it soak as directed and used a scraper. Repeated the process several times…it took off some with much scraping. So I tried 150 grit sand paper- that didn’t work at all. I also tried the Isophyl alcohol it worked about the same as 3 M except it wasn’t oily. Any tips would be appreciated for use on painted wood.

For super glue on glass W40 is wonderful in less than 5 min.

baking soda, dawn dish soap, warm water. Soak and they come right off. simple. no chemicals. hardly any work.

The problem with the duct tape is that it's a name brand one. Get an off brand and it'll leave behind plenty of adhesive.

Appreciate your attempt at comedy. You get a 5 on a scale of 10 for it. As to the "labels" you are removing. You should use real products with the manufacturers labels. So any "watchers". The reason should be obvious.

This was not a good test. You should have used food jars that have label residue that is super hard to remove. That would have been the real test.

Zippo = naptha or white gas or Coleman stove fuel, great general mild solvent; mineral spirits or paint thinner is even cheaper and evaporates more slowly. Zippo is likely cheaper, so who cares if it's not re-labeled as an adhesive remover? Should be #1, but then paint thinner and naptha are 1/10 the price (naptha mysteriously is in scarce supply in Colorado, 10/2022).

With duct tape it needs to be on for some length of time such as a week or more maybe two.

Your test was nothing compared to the decals that were on my camper shell for 15-20 years.I got most of the stickers off with a hair dryer, then tried to get the glue off with Goo Gone, WD-40, vinegar, carnauba wax, vegetable oil, and finally paint thinner. Nothing worked. Find a sticker that has been on a car for a few years in the sun and then do your tests.

Don't cover your walls with zippo lighter fluid.
