I feel I need to share this: My mum who is 70 was diagnosed with Alzheimer back in 2016. Since then, I have been banging my head thinking how?? But how?? - Mum never had no one in her family with dementia or Alzheimer or any other mental issues. - Mum had Mediterranean diet from the day she was born. - She always had extra virgin olive oil, fish ( we lived by the sea), beef, lamb, chicken n ducks from the farm, steamed veggies & poached eggs, nuts and she ate lots fruit including an apple before going to bed every night. - Mum used to go to bed early. - Mum never smoked or drank alcohol. - She used to exercise on a daily basis on her cross trainer for an hour or more sometimes. - She used to drive once a week to the city next to our town ( 70km shopping). - She was very manual, painting, embroidery, dress making, loved cooking following recipes etc - In the evening she would watch mind games on tv and answer questions accordingly ( two hours a day). - She was very connected to her sisters and other family members and would talk to them on a daily basis. - Mum visited her friends and her friends visited her often so was very social. So where did mum go wrong??? So where did mum go wrong??? Well..... My mum was a BIG WORRIER FOR NO REASON...she was ANXIOUS for anything and everything.... So my conclusion is: Stress contributed to mum's Alzheimer.

My Mom was diagnosed with severe Alzheimer's at age 88. She stopped sugar, bread, and caffeine, and ate mainly eggs, meat and fish, but not large meals. She also took taurine, which is only found in animal foods, especially seafood, glycine (detoxes aluminum), serine (lowers cortisol), lysine (plentiful in dairy, meat and fish, but low in plant proteins), and the essential brain fat omega 6 fat arachidonic acid, also only found in animal foods (people with Alzheimer's are low in arachidonic acid). Friends who talked to her at that time said she didn't seem like she had Alzheimer's at all. She died at age 93 because her heart med was over-prescribed, but she was lucid to the last.

I completely agree. Plant based diets are frequently wrong for some people. Foods from animals are the way to go for many body and blood types. If you are going plant based do not buy much in stores that is ready made! They are bad food. The market is now flooding with the plant based meat alternatives....do not eat them. Get rid of Sugar, and dextrose, etc, corn anything unless it’s organic! most cheese except fresh organic cheese, not medium or aged! Fresh soft goat cheese is the best! Carbs from anything wheat flour, yeast filled anything, eat fish out of the Atlantic not the Pacific , no shrimp or crappy fish, eat more veggies and fruits, brown rice, not white, not instant, eat ancient grains in conservative amounts, no artificial sweeteners except Stevia and safe sweeteners. Sugar from Monk Fruit, is one example. no deep fried Anything, “zero bad oils”, very dangerous, choose Pure Cold Pressed Extra virgin olive, avocado or pure organic coconut oil, Ghee, use oils at medium and low cooking temperatures, and no other oils including what is in ready made goods, condiments and take out. Always choose organic when price makes it possible. In other words, stop eating take out or fast food, foods from places that provide boxes of foods you make at home, most restaurant and all fast foods and foods from the deli counter. Number one, learn to Make and Eat food at home. Make it your mission to cook at home!! Organic first if not overly expensive when compared to non organic. If you Can afford organic, then go organic, as you are consuming almost no deadly chemicals in organics. If the item you want is too expensive for your budget in organic, then buy it non organic. Eliminate regular table salt. Use Himalayan salt instead. Drink more water, no sodas, coconut waters, teas that are caffeine free are preferable and green tea is only one of the excellent teas you can buy. Coffee a little without white sugar.Without Aspertame either!! NO fruit juices, only whole fruit instead. I could go on, but I won’t. This will help you with all diseases from A to Z. (Eliminate eggplant and tomato anything if you are really arthritic.) We actually can reverse our brain and body diseases but we have to commit to it! No pill or doctor can do it for you! Even advanced Alzheimer’s is less horrible when the whole diet of garbage is Stopped. To better health!

In Russian Anecdote stands for a joke. So in medicine we simply laugh away the anecdotes. Even if your observation is totally absolute it is still a joke but only one person might behave that way and that does not make it medicine. Medicine must be open to replication You cannot have penicillin that works only if you are sitting on the North Pole and you are 88 yr old

Get the original not a photocopy That counts as piracy if not plagerism. The trouble with the book information is it stays in the book. I have learnt 22 languages and never made any notes or bought any book. I just watch videos and imprint things on the brain. That is the way to go. Dont use GPS use your brain to make a map that would help you avoid dementia. The London taxi drivers had to do that and their hippocampi grew bigger. So forget the book just listen to their advice and adopt it in life. that is their intent not to become next Amazon by selling books.

@@sleepsmartsmashstress740 Excuse me but how is an e PDF or ebook copy of such work plagiarism when it is coming from the same authors? Do you know what an ebook is? I have ebooks from various authors as it is a much better way to have information and literature on hand since it doesn't take up space like a hard copy book does and you don't have to worry about it being lost, stolen, or damaged. It is the only way I will have books now. Much more accurate and reliable than keeping things in memory and is more environmentally friendly as it saves on trees and other resources too.

Coconut oil is saturated fat, however at body temperature, it is not solid, it is fluid like olive oil. If saturated fat was a killer then how does the Eskimo culture survive on saturated fat in the form of marine blubber? Just saying coconut oil is bad for your brain without showing any evidence is not very convincing. "Brain cells use glucose for energy" Does the brain not also use cholesterol for energy as well? Others are giving MCT oil and coconut oil to reduce the condition of Alzheimer's as in Mary T Newport. We have been socially conditioned to reduce cholesterol which I think is simply a marketing ploy and that low cholesterol is worse than high cholesterol. Does not every cell in the body not contain three-quarters of cholesterol? Does fat not help the body optimize vitamin D, and the brain needs vitamin D.

I am commenting on fish. I am Japanese watching this. If you don't know much about fish, you don't need to eat it. I don't eat fish in the U.S. because I don't think farmed salmon are good and the other fish are not cooked like I prefer. Occasionally, I try eating a seafood entree in an American restaurant. Every time, I regret my decision. Japanese people don't eat fish everyday. Sushi is something we eat every once in a while. If we do, we only have about 2 slices of tuna because sushi is about eating different kinds of seafood. When we eat fish at home, it is boiled or grilled without added fat. Now that Japanese people are eating more processed food, I see many obese people. They say Japanese (Asian) people's pancreas cannot produce as much insulin as Caucasians.

chronic ingestion of saturated fatty acids (SFA) compromises blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity resulting in cerebral extravasation of plasma proteins and inflammation. However, the SFA-induced parenchymal accumulation of plasma proteins could be prevented by co-administration of some cholesterol lowering agents. And instead of asking people to limit their sat fat intake ...we are working on developing and exploring lipid-lowering agents that could reverse BBB disturbances induced by chronic ingestion of SFA’s.

I started with almost no sugar, very little processed food, low salt, eat more vegetables and some fruit. Whole grains and the more nutritious nuts and seeds. And hemp hearts, some ground flax and some chia seeds. I started buying whole foods first then started adding the healthy expensive stuff by buying one or two a month because of my limited budget. And healthy spices like tumeric. It taste terrible but you only need a small amount so you can add 2 small pinches to most dishes like soups, casseroles, stews, etc. And you don't taste it. Fermented foods good. I only like pickles, sourdough bread and greek yogurt. Improve sleep. Exercise even walking. More water. D3 supplement. Broccoli, blueberries and walnuts are great superfoods. I play Wordscapes. Limited or grass fed beef in moderate amounts I think are good. I eat canned albacore tuna and minced clams in my soup.

These guys are the authority in alzheimer's. Olive oil is "ok" but it ain't all that!!! Eat OLIVES . Eat the whole food. Go on you tube and look up Dr Goldhammer, Dr Will Bulsiewicz (his book Fibre Fueled is outstanding), Dr Klaper, Dr Caldwell Esselsteyn, Dr T. Colin Campbell, Dr Kim Williams and Dr John Mcdougall for funding out what they have to say about oil. Get your fat from whole food sources. Saute your food in water, stock or wine!!!! Eat lots of greens, beans, lentils, legumes, and small amounts of nuts and seeds, wholegrains, spices, fruits, herbal teas like nettle, green tea at least 90% diet. But be 100% plantbased. You heard it here. Dr Gemma Newson is a great resource too. Got to also,, www.plantbasedhealthprofessionals.com for up to date information. Good luck my friend. I've studied nutrition but I'm not registered. Do NOT listen to anyone who tells you that dowsing lots of olive oil on your food is the panacea , it's nonscence. What these chaps tell you is actually the TRUTH and the resources I have mentioned above will support Dr Ayesha and Dr Dean Sherzai 👍.

Read the science. A plant based diet is about life. Huge benefits in health, mental health, and better for the planet. Exercise has long been understood to be beneficial to health and mental health. Where is the confusion? Keto diet leads to higher death outcomes and is not recommended for long term.
@vanessap8717
@vanessap8717 3 жыл бұрын
@@lauramorales8773 the confusion is because, we've all had different diets around the world. I don't believe we survived in Canada on plant foods. I think plants should make up the most of a person's diet, but animal protein/fat is important for health. I was vegetarian for three years. I work out by lifting weights, rock climb,, walk, swim and just overall stay active. I found it hard to gain muscle, and get proper calories(unless thy are wrong about the amount of calories needed, which may be so) I was losing too much weight and you could see my ribs from my back a bit, lean everywhere and a bloated stomach. I strayed to eat pasture raised animal meats and wild fish, wig in two months I doubled my chin ups (was stuck at 3 in a row for years) and my body looks so much better now, I've filled out with muscle, especially my back, and my bloated/fat stomach went away. I eat healty real food, and I think meat is part of a healthy diet. I feel good..trust me, I didn't want to eat meat, but vegetarian wasn't working for me..I gave it three years.

@@vanessap8717 people believe what they choose to believe. You went vegetarian, you say, but what foods were you eating? Many professional athletes including weight lifters have been vegan successfully. They have reported improvements in energy, performance and more. While their (and your) stories are more antidotal than scientific, it shows that it can be done. Looking to the scientific studies, time and again improvements in diet have shown long term benefits. Decreasing processed foods, eating whole foods, and ditching disease-causing animal products are all health promoting. You enjoy meat, and so you choose to eat it. Your choice, and I get it. It is hard to change what you become accustomed to. But at least read and try to understand the science. Look to who funds the research. Look to which foods truly make a difference. Even the Mediterranean diet (which does allow small portions of meats) is more about whole foods than animal consumption. Your comment about Canada I do not understand unless you are perhaps largely an indigenous or ‘native’ descendant. Tribal groups living without electricity, in a hunter gatherer situation, would have not have hard the ability to survive on a diet without animal products. Life was hard. Until more recently, historically speaking, we did not even know the science behind what is needed to thrive on one. Still, the tribal groups did eat more whole and much less processed foods. They at less foods overall, not having the privilege (or curse perhaps) of excess that many have today. Looking to the poorer countries today, we see less of the diseases of excess prevalent in the wealthier areas today as they are eating more of the inexpensive whole foods which are available to them. Grains and vegetables are staples. Meats are served less as they are costly. These people have better gut biomes, less cancers, less diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. There is less profit to be made off of eating this way, but so much more to be gained.

I believe it is sooo important to have a healthy diet. I was a vegetarian for 5 years. At first felt great. When I gave it up not so great. Then years later something happened to my system that I didn't feel good without meat - chicken or beef for supper. Vegan diet just like keto needs supplements. I believe I'm doing great on low carb diet. I also stopped coffee years ago & found out 2-3 cups a day is good. So I started organic coffee beans. Grind it. Hope this helps.

We've moved away from true food, that it's not even funny... True heritage, heirloom food is the answer.. Food now days is hybrid, contaminated, poisoned, unnaturally cultivated...Farm practices are insanely bad..No study factors in all these variables.The longest living people are typically away from the rest of the world, eating untouched nature...Societies full of love, hope, togetherness, less stress etc.. Not a 7/11,McDonald's etc at every corner ..Or video games, laptops, cell phones crazies that keep their kids on the couch all day and inactive...So many factors here......... Eat as clean as you can, mainly vegan, but you can eat some grass fed meat, cheese etc. in moderation. My dad is 80, had limited food as a youngster in Greece, but from 25 and up ate more crap then you can possibly imagine, so much meat,, like seriously would buy a whole animal chop it up and eat it in under a few months,, smoked from 12 to 55, just a horrible eater period....but always slept good, doesn't stress and he still works 40 hours as a chef... Climbs on roofs , is sharp as a 20 year old, and looks decades younger...What's the real secret???? Too many factors....

I do timed quizzes which require correct spellings, correct answers in a short time. Once I get all answers correct in the stipulated time , I challenge myself to do it faster than my best. I do timed math quizzes and may more. I do art, make small pieces of furniture ( no I don’t have training in furniture making, I have to figure it all out), I do Creative cooking, walk for 2 hours everyday, do slopes ( run up slopes and walk down), I climb 400 steps everyday. And I eat vegetarian meals. Hope this routine keeps me protected as I work from 10.30 pm to 5 am. I sleep at 4 pm -10.15 pm. My diet is zero shop bought processed goods but does contain ghee, butter ( 1 tsp a day) yogurt ( 300-400 ml fresh 😢home made), zero white goods, zero wheat, zero sugar, zero refined vegetable oils, zero milk ( except to make yogurt). I make flat breads using millets, rice, water chestnut, buckwheat etc. Luckily I am allergic to wheat and so no cookies, bread, cakes and other bakery products on the run. I use flax seeds, Chia seeds, linseeds to make my breads ( I powder them at home). Will this lifestyle help me keep protected from any chronic ailments? Please comment.

I had this running in the background, I need to listen to the interview with no vacuum noise. Whole coconut meat or coconut water was not specifically asked. Probably in the book. Coconut "milk" - read the nutrition information - very high Sat fat.

@@pantameowmeow.s.1149 HOWEVER, they did not differentiate green young coconut (virtually no fat/oil) from the subsequent mature coconut (90% fat, with milk/oil)! It's the same scenario with the green/young banana (very low sugar) versus a ripe banana (high sugar). BOTH of which are controlled by caprylic acid conversion that occurs during ripening! This is a huge factor to consider when both measuring and discussing the "healthiness" of both of these fruits!

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2989112/ Keto diet was never meant as a long term diet. It has been used as a way for people unwilling to change lifelong eating patterns to lose weight. Still, when they stop (as they should) health does generally revert. They gain weight back and demonstrate no long term, life-changing positive health outcomes. Whereas a plant based, Whole Foods, no oil diet can truly have long term positive and life gaining benefits. Reversing heart disease and diabetes, health improvements with digestion and other issues. What study have you ever read (have I ever read) about the disease causing plant based diet? None. Yet, can easily read studies about problems with meats and various cancers, diseases, and more. It is hard to ignore once you learn to look to the actual result and not just what ‘they’ choose to report. Look to who funds the study, their biases, then look to the results.

A true athlete would be better fueled by healthy food, than bottles of oil or glucose. Of course a long distance runner needs to makes sure they have met their needs, which would include extra nutrition and hydration. This can be accomplished without resorting to junk. Of course most are not true long distance runners.
