Man I've watched your older stuff when I started college 2 years ago. You're a good teacher for being both informative and entertaining so it's pretty badass how you're still making stuff. God bless your work man

I've got a fabric measuring tape, a yard stick, and a seam gauge. Since a yard stick is sometimes too short, I bought, at Ace Hardware, a stainless steel strip to use as a straight edge. Instead of a spring-action presser foot, I bought a Dritz Jean-A-Ma-Jig. I don't know if there is a spring-action presser foot made for my sewing machine.

I could sure use a tutorial on how to taper double-stitched out/inner inseam. I would like to avoid taper all the way up the leg. It's a little past my skill set.

Hey SD... love your channel! As a women, who loves and wants her guy to look his best, I’ve learned so much from you on men’s clothing. I’ve got a good grip on woman’s clothing but a lot of your techniques crossover. Anyway, you could do a 2 for 1 video on hemming and tapering suit pants (can you do this keeping the original hem?)? Most guys need both of things and your have done it in parts but I’m trying to figure out the order of operations and I think it’s 1) hem 2) taper and 3) zigzag closed but I wonder if there is a faster/better way? I also wanted to ask 1) what teeth whiting products do you use? You’re teeth are amazing!!!!! And 2) what’s the scar on your right arm? Keep up the good work, I’m here for life!
@StylishDTailors
@StylishDTailors 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no you can't keep the original hem on suit pants, you end up making a new blind hem which is fine. As far as the order of operations goes there isn't a hard and fast rule, but I would taper and then hem after that. And I use some whitening molds I got on Amazon forever ago haha! Haven't used them in a while actually...

So, here’s another question ... I have the equipment to embroider and/or heat transfer. I love putting names on hoodies, etc ... Do guys like that stuff? I’ve done a few of his jerseys and it was received with great joy but it’s it okay to do it on other stuff? Part of making a custom garment is personalization and adding a name looks cool. My fear is that it looks like some sort of name tag. Now I’m not saying putting things on his dress shirts or professional wear but jackets, hoodies, gym and sport bags, etc ... What’s your thoughts? (Personally, I put my name on everything from my Starbucks cup to my kayak!!! I know it’s ultimately a personal preference but I’m wondering your stance.) Thanks
