What's up guys! In this video I compare two of the most popular weight benches on Amazon, the Fitness Reality 1000 Super Max and the Fitness Reality 2000 Super Max Xl High Capacity no gap adjustable weight bench. Both Fitness Reality Benches can be purchased on Amazon and have over 4.5 stars with thousands of reviews. Both workout benches are foldable, the Fitness Reality 1000 can stand up on it's side also. The Fitness Reality 2000 is the newer or second version of the Fitness Reality 1000 super max bench which is reated 4.6 stars with almost 7000 reviews on Amazon. The Fitness Reality 1000 is rated at 800lb weight capacity whilte the 2000 is rated at 850lbs which is a ton for benches of this price range. I recommend the Fitness Reality 1000 for people that don't intend to do ab work, but want a simple light weight but strong bench they can stow away after their workout. These weight benches should work for people of all heights. The Fitness Reality 2000 adjustable weight bench has the no gap seat option which is similar to the famous Rep Fitness AB5000 Zero Gap bench which is one of my personal favorite benches. Both home gym workout benches have a leg holder or attachment that make doing decline workouts perfect. If you are looking to do some decline ab work I recommend the Fitness Reality 2000 bench because it has a much better leg attachment for comfort and support. In the end the Fitness Reality 2000 Super Max Xl adjustable weight bench is my favorite workout bench for a home gym that's under $200 and Fitness Reality 1000 is my favorite bench for under $100.

I just got the 2000, everything is good except for the seat where you slide back and forth to close the gap, it a bit loose and make noise when I shake it, does yours do that?

As long as the pin is in it should only move a little bit back and forth. No more then a couple millimeters at most, which shouldn’t be an issue.

Matt, your reviews are awesome! Thanks a lot for putting in the time to hook us up with some great info! Did Fitness Reality confirm that the 2000 is updated or did you get a new one from Amazon with a wider back rest? I wrote to Fitness Reality about it, but got a weird response saying the back rest is still tapered. The guy who responded was kinda all over the place, so I'm not sure if he's right.

@@alanbonilla8710 I'm not a 100% sure all of them are updated with the wider backrest, but I have received multiple comments stating they have received the wider backrest and if you check the pictures on amazon and fitness reality website they updated them to the wider. Do a quick search on google for it and you can see how the slimmer backrest pictures looked. In the description on the Fitness Reality website it says "2 Backrest width options available during assembly" Kind of weird because I don't know how you would pick which width. It's much cheaper on Amazon, but they do give a longer warranty from their website if that's something you'd want.

@@MattTolbers thanks, man! Yea, great point on the new pics on Amazon vs the older ones. I’m gonna order and hope a newer one comes in. Curious: have you ever tried the NordicTrack Select-a-Weight dumbbells? Same price as the Core Fitness and Bowflex, but a little more weight (5lbs more vs the Core) with the same 2.5 lb flexibility as the Bowflex (without the long length on the lower weights). They are pretty dope! I was going to buy the Core Fitness ones based on your review, but Wirecutter recently had a bad write-up on them because of a lot of recent bad reviews on quality and absent customer service.

Hey Matt, thanks for the videos on the 2000 model, you sold me. I just got mine shipped from Walmart today and it looks like they've upgraded the back rest. It's 10 inches wide top to bottom. I'm pretty stoked now and hope they start sending these upgraded ones out to people now too.

i can confirm the back rest is wider now too on the 2000 also! fuckin love this bench too thanks matt! im glad i went with the 2000 over the 1000. happy i did was worried tho about the smaller back rest on the 2000 myself as im a bigger guy but like i said i got the wider one.

Hi Matt, Can you tell me please whether this 2000 XL bench can stand upright when folded (am guessing it must be leaned against a wall or stabilized at the bottom)? Also what is the height both with and without the leg attachment, when folded and rested horizontally? I live in sm studio and need to make sure it will fit. Good news, as of 10/31/23, Amazon has dropped the price to $140.

Yes, I bought the 2000 bench back in 2018 or 2019 (cant remember) and the seat didn't have that metal plate underneath it, so the front of the seat snapped (due to shoulder press exercise). will definitely purchase again. I used it weekly so I know for sure it's a very sturdy and durable bench.

I have this bench and freakin love it. Bought it on OfferUp for $35. For decline just add a 35lb plate to the front leg where you rest your feet. That is the perfect angle for decline. No need to use the decline option on the bench, it’s too low.

You might be better served looking used. Hoist has a real nice one, and same with the Inspire FT2. Ironmaster also sells one. However, in each case the combined cost of the FID bench plus the leg attachment will probably be out of the price range you mentioned - but if you are willing to pay a little more those all do what you want.

Matt, I have a question for you it’s about the Inspire FT2. I’m about to start to assemble my FT2 and I’m just curious on a couple frame part labels. Now my question: Is (R) Right side Right when looking at the FT2 or is the Right reversed ? Like the Right is on the Left side ?

I’m pretty sure it’s when looking at it. Set the big parts down and you should be able to tell which side goes where and then you’ll know for the rest.

Yeah I’d do that. Been to long since I put it together so can’t remember lol. I know the instructions were pretty good though overall. It took me a few days for a couple hours after work to put it together. Just don’t rush make sure your doing each part correct and don’t tighten bolts to much unless it tells you to because thats the only issue I had where I tightened some bolts down to early and was having issues getting something to fit until I loosened it back up.

Hey Matt, I got my Fitness Reality 2000 in the mail today. I noticed that the top of the back rest, where behind when your head would lay, bends a little bit as if the board inside had snapped apart. Is this normal or do you think it got damaged during shipping? It doesn't seem to affect the function of the bench nor does it bend very much.

It's wood and metal so it shouldn't bend, must have gotten dropped upside down hard on the wood part and cracked. With how much metal there is supporting it I doubt you'll have much issue with function though.

No, it has different size attachment hole and it’s in front not on top like the inspire scs bench

For me the 2000 is $381 on Amazon but the 1000 is only $136. I think I’m going to get the 1000 but did u say that they fixed the back width on the 1000 to more wide than before

Definitely go with 1000 at that price difference. The 1000 already had wider bad rest but now the 2000 also does

Depends what you plan to do with it. Do you want it to fold away or just stay where it is? Are you lifting dumbbells only or using it for barbell work? Do you plan to work abs with it or just regular decline is fine?

Man, I got the 1000 before the 2000 came out- as part of the combo with the rack. So, I'm debating if I should replace it or not.

The 1000 is nice and solid also. If you don't do much decline or ab work it's probably not worth switching over.

I read in a review you can flip the back rest upside down so that the wider part is at the top where your shoulders sit, is that possible?

Why would they fix the backrest on the 1000, but then put it on the 2000. If people didn't like it on the 1st bench why would they like it on the 2nd?

I think they made the 2000 before they addressed the issue with the 1000. Someone who recently ordered the 2000 said they had the wider back rest so it may be updated already.

The 2000 should have a shorter back, iv never seen a gym with such a long back and I don’t think anyone ever really needs it that long. That extra length prevents you from doing certain workouts, kinda ridiculous
