I'm frequently asked for book recommendations from parents. Not books for their children, but books for themselves!
In this week's episode, I've compiled my top recommendations for the best parenting books. These books cover a wide range of age groups and topics. They were invaluable to me along my parenting journey, and one of them even inspired me to become a teacher!

Love all your videos ❤ i bought "my childs first teacher" and i just finished a homechooling book called "the call of the wild and the free" so its next to be read. We also just ordered a chalk board from your website for our homechooling playroom ao i can do pastel drawings for my 2 little ones till we need it for school. You will be a resource for sure during our "Waldorf"ish/unschooling journey for years to come. Also simplicity parenting is on my kindle now too so its after you are my childs first teacher

Another good storytelling book is "tell me a story" from the Waldorf early childhood association of north america. It has some good stories a great mix and sectioned by what they would be great used during when.also gives good suggestions for some of them of what you can do during the story

A really nice book to hand over to children would be tailor made educational ones - such as *personalised childrens books* - it won't teach you how to "parent" better but it helps in guiding your children with its content

I would love to see a video about the cost of Waldorf school. I did research on the cost and I wanted cry! I am a full time working future mama who is an active duty naval officer so it’s not like I couldn’t afford it but, seems hard with my hours and Waldorf/Montessori schedule/hours aren’t great for working families. I’m interested in Waldorf/Montessori education but I’m worried about how we can do it with us both working.

Waldorf schools will often offer reduced rates for some families. And, you and your husband might check with your human relations department to see if you can open a Dependent Care Flex Spending Account to pay for child care and pre-school. Basically, it's a tax-free account so you don't pay taxes on the portion of your paycheck that goes into that account. And, your medical is probably awesome, but, if you do have to pay anything, you might ask about a health savings account to pay for pregnancy expenses and any after care for the baby or you. Also, Waldorf and Montessori are different in a few key ways. You might watch Sarah's video on that before investing. My family has explored a few different types of preschools, and found they're all about the same price, but they emphasize very different things. My daughter started with Montessori, and we switched after realizing that we value other things over early academics. We plan to start with a Waldorf preschool and just check in with each other each year to see if this is still possible and a priority for us. It's not unusual to transition out of Waldorf after the early education years.
