That's actually one of the signs someone is lying. When recounting events people don't usually go into intricate details, so when a story notes things like accessories or specific colours - the probability is high that the recounted events are a lie.

Tbh there are some people who go into so much detail because they remember things well and they enjoy writing etc.. I’ve personally known some people who have done posts on Reddit and know it’s true because I’ve seen it all with my own eyes and they wrote their posts in detail, they said it was therapeutic to get it all out and they didn’t want to miss any details because then people in the comments would be asking questions and doubting them. Who knows this may be fake but may not be.. people on Reddit make it hard in the comments because they’re accusing it of being fake with too much detail but then if it’s too vague and parts are not explained then they think it’s fake as well😂🤷🏻‍♀️

If you write a "fake" fictional story called, "the time I punched my stupid boss in the face", and you never mention a punch in the story, it would be a little frustrating for the reader.
