Mobil here in the Chicago area has a better quality at lower octanes compared to shell. But shell still has better gas for V engines

really? mobil always costs more in my area $5 a gallon, i want to try shell and its a dollar cheaper, my car does idle roughly so i hope i see a change with shell’s 93

Hi Nick, Best to look for stations that are top tier, I'll put a link below, but JMHO I think some gas stations use more cleaning additives than others. www.toptiergas.com/fuel-stations/

It's all about the additives. People will tell you that gasoline all comes from the same depots. That's correct....it's what is added to the tankers after they are loaded that makes the " Top Tier" brand name fuels a LOT better for your engine. A clean carbon free engine is more efficient in all ways. Octane is only good to stop engine knocking which is related to engine compression. Excess octane additives rob power while costing more. I have been involved in Motorsports for 60+ yrs.

I could test the Chevron and Texaco. I don't have any of the other gas stations you mention I'm my area. I'll make a note of it and probably use the Chevron and/or Texaco in a future video. Thanks for the suggestion.👍🙌😊

Techron= Polyetheramine, polyetheramine is only useful as a detergent in the combustion chamber and on the backside of hot valves not at room temperature.

Costco is normally great gas, top tier as well. The main advantage I like at Costco is they take really good care of there stations tanks and pumps.

Stay with the club Gasoline. All gasolines have detergents. Your right toss in a bottle of Techron or Gumout Complete a few times a year. Oil changes are a good time to remedy

This is true, they all start out the same, but the different Brands have their own additives that they supposedly put in sometime before it comes out of the gas pump.

The gasoline goes from the pipeline into the Storage Facility Tanks, then directly into a local Tanker Delivery Truck, and then drectly into a retail gas station's underground pump tanks... (so every gallon of gasoline in the pipeline is EXACTLY THE SAME... and the Storage Facility Tanks are not branded. All the local Tanker Delivery Trucks are filled from exactly the same Storage Facility Tanks...!)

This guy says he drives a fuel/gasoline tanker and says the additives are injected during the loading process...not by the retailer. Ha Ha that's an old gas can with 87 octane for my mower, I wanted to start with New gas cans with Fresh 93 octane gasoline.

Sorry, Chevron isn't very big where I live. It's mostly Shell or Mobil for Top tiers and a lot of other stations with convenience stores like Pride, Cumberland Farms, etc.

@@stupidnamewaster then you dont have to worry. This applies to vehicles that do have issues. Mostly when nothing obvious shows up.

Texaco should be good also because i think it has techron.

@@rdg091 techron was a chevron product. Maybe it has changed in the last 18 years. Let me give you and others a situation I had with a customer long ago. He came in and complained of a cold start problem. Not starting right up and making a light rattle at start up. Looked things over and found nothing. I asked him what kind of gas he used. He said texaco because his friend had a station. Now this customer was an old no nonsense dairyman. So I told him when his car was near empty to get chevron. He thought I was crazy. Really. I told him I would pay for the first two tankfulls if the sound and startup didnt get better. So with glee he left. About 4 days later he called and with a bit of wonder said the noise and startup issue was gone. He still had some scepticism. So I told him to go back to Texaco. So weeks later he called. Everything was back. So again, switch to chevron. And he did and no more issues. You have no idea how many cars we had "fixed" by having customers switch to chevron. Now I have had folks call me on this and to be honest, I dont care. Customer was happy and that is all I cared about.
