@@tacticaltruth8118 I guess I was wrong in my comment. I got supplementary insurance through AARP with Hartford. This covers what my Medicare does not. I have not had to pay for any health care costs, including a night in hospital over heart issues and a number of tests including cat scan and mri. Also, new arthritis care with cat scan, X-rays and physiotherapy, without any out of pocket. Cost, $220.00 month over Medicare. Age, 69, now 70 years old.

I used to work with a County agency then a regional state aging agency in my younger years in the late 1990s. Stephanie this is the most clear and concise teaching I've ever heard on explaining the different supplemental options with medicare supplemental plans. Thank you for making this video to educate seniors in a non-biased way! I'm going to check out your additional videos and wish you success in the future. Thanks for taking the time to do this because in a few years I'm going to need this myself.

okay Martin, so generally speaking, investing calls for more knowledge. For this reason, it's crucial to have a strong support system (financial counselor) to lead you through, particularly while choosing assets. I work with (REGINA LOUISE COLLARO) a registered wealth manager and investment advisor. For the record, it has been the best experience for my finances. You may have heard of her because of how well-known her services are. She helped me become financially solid through investment, and now I profit from her passive income strategies on a monthly basis.Therefore, I'll suggest that you choose a reliable investment advisor for yourself.

You are God-sent! I am going to call your number early Monday bc I don't think you are open today, Saturday. I ( like many others here) get very confused when it comes to choosing health care. I thought I had straight Medicare but found out last week that I have a Medicare Advantage plan. I don't recall signing up for Medicare Advantage, in fact I specifically told that to my insurance agent. I need to change to straight Medicare but have been trying to understand some videos and I pick up on some things but it's way too much information for me. Then this morning I found this video and gave myself some slack. Maybe it wasn't my slow brain but the presenter's style of presenting. I was able to follow you so much better.

Great video Stephanie. I've worked in hospitals all my life. Most people don't know that when you get admitted to a hospital, you sign a big stack of forms. Nobody really reads them, but one of those forms is permission to put a lien on your home. So if you have no insurance, or inadequate insurance, it can force the sale of your home or lead to medical bankruptcy. Choosing the right plan is more important than ever. Those hospitals get their money one way or the other.

My husband wanted to switch from his HD plan F to the regular plan F. He mistakenly enrolled in plan G and called to see if he could switch and was told no. Once he selected plan G it was a done deal. They weren't exactly clear if it would have been even possible to do it. They just said once a selection is made that is it. I was upset but after listening to your video, I am happy he made that mistake because his premium would have probably risen at a substantially higher rate. Thanks!

Hi there, your videos have been so helpful to us in our search for the right supplemental plans for Medicare. We have one question: if we plan to move within the next five years (to be closer to family), will we need to buy another supplemental plan in the state that we move to (Hawaii to Pennsylvania) or can we keep the same one? We're trying to avoid having to go through medical underwriting if possible. In other words, is the supplemental insurance that we purchase tied to the state that we live in?

I’m on Plan G. Was going to switch to N but didn’t like the idea of having to check out each doc to make sure they accept Medicare assignment (my state allows excess charges and what happens if an emergency comes up and I can’t check?). Plan High G actually makes more sense than Plan N to me, in that regard. At least with High G, I know I’d be out of pocket under 3k and once the deductible is met, I’d have Plan G! Plan N is a ? Did you enroll in Medicare both Parts A and B? If so, and you plan to retire next year at age 68 you would be able to get Plan G “guaranteed issue” if you turned 65 in 2020 or later, and in most states Plan N would be medically underwritten. So, your eligibility for Plan N will depend on your health. If you have delayed Part B then you can get any Medicare Supplement Plan, since you will be new to Part B upon retirement.

How does a grandfathered plan J benefits compare to the current plan G?
@AbtInsuranceAgency
@AbtInsuranceAgency Жыл бұрын
Plan J covered some Rx benefits before Medicare Part D was signed into law. Right now, the main difference between Plan J and Plan G is coverage for the Part B deductible. Plan G does NOT cover it, and Plan J does. This deductible is $226/year in 2023.

I like these videos, but wish you were more clear that choosing a medigap plan at age 65 is not just for now, but the rest of your life. What percentage of applications are rejected or have increased premiums when attempting to change plans. When selecting a plan at age 65, one should think about health needs at age 85.

Why does no one talk about the actual Medigap (supplement) companies? I’m going to go with original Medicare with a Plan G supplement and trying to choose which company. I know all the supplements plans are the same across all companies (since it’s required by law) but how do the various companies compare for things like rate increases, customer service, etc?

Stephanie, thank you for the great presentation! Question: do all carriers of Medigap plans have nationwide presence? What if you later move to another state where the carrier is not available, do you have to go through underwriting to chose another carrier? What if you fail for health reasons?

I'll be on Medicare in 2 months. I may relocate out of state in 6 months. Would a broker be able to determine the current costs of a supplement plan in the area I'm currently in as well as the area I may relocate to? I understand the costs will likely change in the 6 months, but I'm looking for a rough comparison for current costs.

I start Medicare in December when I turn 65. Our 2021 tax return was a one-time high blip that appears to put us in the irmaa increased rates. My question. In February of 2024 my 2023 taxes will be finished and both our 2022 and 2023 will be under the limits. Does irmaa get re-evaluated at this time or do I have to wait an entire year and pay the higher premiums all year?
@AbtInsuranceAgency
@AbtInsuranceAgency Жыл бұрын
It SHOULD get re-evaluated every calendar year, but if you are starting in December, then you should file your IRMAA appeals form as soon as you get notification of your Part B premium amount. I hope this helps!

Why are different coverages available, and not available in different areas when this is a national medical system? Why do private companies get to choose where they can offer more or less coverage because of where you live? We live in Clatsop County, Oregon and three miles East in Columbia County they can have an Advantage plan and we can't.

The federal government runs the Traditional Medicare program which is a national program. Medicare Advantage is privatized and can vary by insurance company, and region.
