@@fartquaviasdingle7876 the tldr version is that Ireland was so poor back then that there was next to no livestock for food, so they relied on potatoes as their one and only food source. The Famine started when a disease that was called the Potato Blight got into the soil and would make any potatoes it touched straight up inedible. Since their food source went kaput a lot of people died and Ireland's population nearly halved. Cory isn't wrong in a weird way, it's not that the Irish then couldn't grow potatoes, it's just that the ground was in a state where it couldn't grow anything

I think i just fully realized the joke Cory was doing during the translator joke, and its actually pretty funny lmfao The joke is, Chris is speaking the foreign language and fully intending to answer. Cory is a sham translator that got a very important high up job by faking the credentials, and then when asked to do that job, they've only got the "Hi, can you show me the bathroom?" beginners level sentences. "I am from France." "This is my pencil." style translations. Or I'm overthinking it lmao

@@tatematthews4694 mines a bit different, I got my kneecaps shot off while riding a bicycle down the road at age 10. Tomar came over to me and said "I am sorry little one. The Emerald is mine." And grabbed the green candy ring off my finger. Only moments later did he realize his mistake and in anger he shot off my finger and threw the ring in my eye. I'm crippled, partially blind, and am missing a finger. So yeah, PTSD is the right word.
