Tip #5: Monitor your progress I found it quite helpful to do body stats (or bodyweight) before starting the the program. And then do it again on monthly basis. It encourages me to work harder and be more consistent when I see bad numbers drop. It is also helpful if you need to make necessary changes.

I agree. The best monitoring equipment that I can recommend is a huge mirror. Install one in your room and evaluate your physique everyday. Skip the weighing scale. Losing weight does not always mean you are doing great. If you look better and better in a mirror then you are in the right track buddy.

don't diet. Dieting implies that it is only temporary. You need to change your eating habits for the rest of your life. Also, it is easier to slowly change unhealthy food in your current "diet" to healthier once, rather than changing everything at once, because then there is a larger chance you won't relapse into old eating habits.

I've gone from 13 stone to 11.13 since December. I allow myself a few beers with friends on Saturday night and eat whatever I want on Sundays. In fact, I hardly do anything on Sundays. So I lift weights and run from Monday-Saturday. Obviously, I algamate between both. If I go on a long walk then I don't need to run. I also count calories with fitbit, a handy device if you're serious about fat loss and gaining muscle. Also, I eat healthy from Monday to Saturday. Smoothie for breakfast and veg with high protein foods like chicken for dinner. One thing I will say though, it's VERY hard to cut down on carbohydrates!! Just thought I'd provide a few pointers.

As a follow up on tip number 4 I'd say people should diversify their cardio to keep it consistent. Sounds counterintuitive but TRUST ME! Running everyday could be BORING as hell. For myself I cycle, run, dance class, and do brazillian jiu jitsu weekly. With that I have been consistently losing fat while keeping things fun. I used to run daily before but that usually ended within less than a month sadly. With this current routine I've been going for about 4 months now and the commitment of dancing/jiu jitsu is forcing me to keep doiong that very intense cardio (Jiu Jitsu especially is a freaking killer)

K Varon According to my personal experience .. counting your calories alone and trying to be in a calorie deficit is enough to lose weight .. if you want to go deeper and count your protien, fat, sugar and other things you would benefit more because you will be counting how healthy your diet is .. but if your aim is just to lose weight .. then counting calories alone and keeping yourself in range of -400 calories will be enough to see results on your weight

Hey could you do a video on the pros and cons of peanut butter? ive been trying to get in shape (lose weight, gain some muscle) but I got older people tell me a scoop or spoonful of peanut butter is good for you and I got people my age telling me to avoid it, guess its more what im going for more carbs or fat but figured it would be helpful to people.

Thank you for keeping things simple. I also have a question, I want to decrease the mass of my chest but I also love my pastries. How much do I have to sacrifice for a good chest?

Look at full perspective and how the pastries fit into the picture. How much of your total calorie allowance is being filled with pastries? And how will that impact the rest of your nutrition?

@@PictureFit Ok that makes sense. One chocolate chip muffin is about 450-500 cal. So I'll eat it from time to time. My cal allowance is 2000 (to maintain body weight)

Crwnz Sama Yup it is possible if you go to gym after fasting 16+ hours you’ll burn fat like hell but you have to be careful how to break you’r fast so i recommend to search “how to break a fast” with thomas delaur, it worked for me :)

It is a good way to lose more fat mass because IF depletes glycogen and lets you enter lypolisis (fat breakdown for energy) easier. However, don't just do cardio. Also do resistance training so that your muscles have some form of stimulation to deter muscle loss. Also and most important, keep protein intake high (atleast 1g per lb of lean body mass or higher). This will conpesate for the muscles you will inivitably lose during a calorie deficit diet. Pump those muscle and keep your beef up and you'll lose fat fast and keep muscle loss to a minimum.

I'll keep those in mind, thanks. I'm about 110kg, yeah, I have a lot to lose. I'll try doing the 18:6 IF, along with an hour of resistance training in the morning, then cardio at around 2 pm, before my eating window at 4. Already been doing 16:8 for about a month now, and there are alot of "cheat days" lol, but i'll try my best. Thanks.

Re: Cardio. I have a (possibly) unique problem. The last time I used a stationary bike I got a pressure wound in a place I don'r need to mention. It took 2 years to heal! and medical people said no more bikes! I should add I am disabled. Therefore I can not do standing exercises. No Squats or lifting etc. So I sit. Chest press, row and other exercises. Can you advise me of some sort of gym/home exercise that can help me with cardio. Thanks.
