Thank you Doctor for explaining a detailed analysis of the 4 most common variety of rice.No doubt our family uses white rice in a small portion for meals my preference n vote is for karupu kavuni rice. In Malaysia it is named Black pulut rice. We prepare different menus using Black pulut rice. Here are some often prepared menus. 1.) Black pulut porridge. Soak a tea cup of rice for 4 hours after washing well. Cook rice soft as for porridge. Cook 2 piece sweet potatoes each about 4inches long by boiling.Peel sweet potatoes n cut into cubes n add to cooked rice. Add 1 teacup of thick coconut milk, 1 level teaspoon of fine salt n brown sugar to taste.Mix contents n finally add a teaspoon of cardamon n dried ginger powder. Boiled water can be added if a watery consistency is preferred. Can be used for breakfast, lunch or in place of tea. 2.) Black kavuni rice can be soaked for 6hours n steamed like idly, when cooked dish into a bowl sprinkle a little salt water, add scraped coconut n brown sugar n mix well, cardamon powder can be sprinkled. Here we use a type of leave called Pandan Leave, which gives a nice aroma when added to the cooking. Doctor this is just a friendly idea for some of your Subscribers.
