Nice, very similar in operation to a robot vacuum. Only wish for me is for it to mow down to 20mm so i can use it on couch while we're on holidays.

Yeah I can understand that, We will see how my back yard and greater green surround goes at 40mm

First one i have seen that doesnt just aimlessly cruise around in random directions i think thats pretty cool its got a goal and thats to actually cut in a straight line👍 i would love one just to watch it go round the lawn while i sit there having a few beers🍻🍻🤙🤣

I've seen a multitude of different units by several upstart companies on various grass channel & they have been inadequate, poorly made & just a pain to set up. The LUBA has been the first unit I've seen yet that was of high quality & engineering. If available, ..definitely will check them out here in The States. Thanks !

I agree mate, I've been offered a few robot mowers to review but this one stood out to me, I do believe you can buy the Luba mowers in the US already.

Hi Brenton. Keen to hear an update of how the Luba is going? I am quite interested in one.... but really want to hear some reviews of people that have had one for a while. I have 1 acre on the Gold Coast... so less the house & gardens Id suggest about 2000-2500 of lawns made up of different zones. Just a gentle slope on the big lawn out the back. A few gums around, but mostly clear skies.... obviously some cloudy days on these hot humid days (when I have better things to do than most lawns on a super hot day). If I was to go ahead... I would need to decide on the 5000 or 3000.

haha I understand what you mean, But I see it like a tool to accompany me so I can focus on other areas of the lawn to a higher degree

Went back to Husqvarna ,way better and advanced !! Husqvarna Automower 535 AWD .... it has 70% slope performance !! Is just a monster !!

Unless I'm mistaken that model covers less ground, has a cutting width of approximately 1/2 of luba, as you mention can only mow upto 70% slope, needs a perimeter wire, has a smaller capacity battery to name a few differences, Im not sure if thats more advanced mate,

They’re getting better. I’m familiar with the Husqvarna auto mowers but it’s great to see other options. Bring on the robot weed killers 😁 The front wheels look like rotacasters, they have their factory in Beresfield NSW and make those kind of wheels for robotics among other things.

Yeah so far I really cant fault it (for what it is) I agree bring on the robot weed killers. Those wheels are pretty amazing , I didnt realise there was a manufacturing facility in Beresfield 😎

G’day Brenton, does the docking station for the Luba need to be positioned outside or can I place it in my alfresco area (under the roof) where my external power point is situated please? If this is required to be externally positioned, do I need to provide a waterproof cover for the base and mover please?

I'm very interested in these robotic mowers. Interested to see what the ongoing costs are for them, ie, blades, wheels, what if the motor craps itself. I recon I've spent about $500 in 15 years on my honda.

Amongst the obstacle avoidance questions I wonder how it goes in regard to doggy land mines? Even if you did a clean up before hand my two pups love dropping fresh ones as I'm mowing 😅

No it would go through it. I’ve found here I’ll do a poo 💩 run in the morning and then start the mower so far so good haha

Really do need to see one in action to know if it really can handle my property. It looks great but wouldn't invest unless I know it works and not just relying on sponsored videos. Is there a dealer near the Gold Coast than can do an onsite demonstration?

How well does the mower handle small sticks?

It goes over them it wont necessarily cut them up but they don't hinder the mowing

None atm BUT I've got it at home now and its setup in the backyard if anything arrises I'll report back

Thanks for the input. I've got about 1000m2 of lawn front and back and this would save the hassle of running a ground wire. And even having 2 non connected zones would be great.

GPS mapping? That will be good when GPS/satellite mapping works with accuracy at the domestic level. I bet it will work great to day but tomorrow is another day.

One question I have is how noisy was it when operating?

As close to silent as you can imagine. You can hear a little bit of grass getting mown when it’s really thick but shame set it mowing one night and he never heard it

Yes absolutely mate it has anti theft inbuilt with notifications etc
