Try exfoliating and then washing your body to get that oil off. Also, washing with a loofah etc AFTER exfoliating helps get the rest of the dead skin off from exfoliating.

While I’ve been waiting for a self-tanner video I have been using and enjoying the Jergens. The only thing I have against it is the fact that it deepens the tone of my dark spots. Not the lotions fault and I found a solution. I give myself an injection once a week for RA and the alcohol takes all self tanners off. So I just put some alcohol on a q-tip and swirl the tip on the dark spots. Works like a charm. I’ve also heard that you should always shave your legs first and I’ve been doing that as well. I had purchased Korres self tanner last year and plan to use the second bottle this year before I head to the beach. Which brings the question: do you turn orange if you get in the sun while wearing self tanner if it’s been a few days on? Thanks for this fantastic demonstration. Hi Lisa! Some self tanners can turn your skin Orange in the sun if the DHA levels are too high for your skin. That’s one reason I like using the solution meant for spray tanning machines. You can order a lower level (I like 8%) of DHA if you find self tanners tend to turn orange on you.

@@lisapierce525 LOL sorry, I should have elaborated. Here is an easy to understand definition from Google/Alexa. 'DHA stands for dihydroxyacetone - the active ingredient in most self-tanning products. “A sugar derived active produced by a natural fermentation process, DHA reacts with amino acids in dead skin cells in the surface layer of the skin.'

Hi Monique, great question! LOL. It comes with a pop-up tent . I've also just put it out in the garage, took the cars out and stood on a large piece of cardboard.

Guess what arrived and I've been using? lol I've used it twice and can say the color is beautiful. The tan lasts as long as most others I've tried (under similar conditions) and there is little to no tan 'smell'. My skin didn't feel, or look, dry after using it either, which is a plus. So my thoughts are it's a really nice option, the price and time to get it were the only real drawbacks. I hope that helps and thanks again for telling me about this product.

I have a question!! I stay away from the sun cause it’s bad for the skin, but is it good to selftan? I had st tropez and the smell was so strong to chemical. Let me know your opinions!!!

Hello. While I'm not aware of any study's suggesting self-tanners are harmful, they can be drying to the skin. Adding a good moisturizer daily while wearing self-tanner is advised. I didn't notice a smell a strong smell with any I tested. The Jergens has. a soft, very light fragrance. I hope that helps.

Am I the only one who can’t apply this correctly around my ankles, etc. I desperately need a lesson or two as I’ve tried so hard to barely touch those areas

Hi Ditto, it's a common issue for sure! You can order some barrier cream and lightly apply to those area's. I put a little bit of coconut oil on my ankles, heels and elbows so when I wipe the mit over those area's the solution doesn't grab and the oil helps blend the solution around those areas. That's worked for me, might be worth a try!

Hi Winona, it leaves a beautiful tan. I didn't show it in this video because the video was about the different solutions I showed on my arm and they would have been covered up :)
