The slk 280 probably better one to hp got. Just because of the balance shaft issue in the 350. I was looking to get a 350, but if the 280 has the more reliable engine I'd rather get that. Prices have been up and down for these cars all these years. The 200k models up to 2010 can be had over 7k, but also a lot less. Suppose version and miles play their part for that.

I have an SLK280 and just had the balance shaft replaced. It was expensive, but worth it for such a great car.

richboy900 they are pretty reliable but that said they have that bearings issue and they are very high maintenance engines u can only use 10w60 oil needs to be topped off with a quart of oil every like 2k miles but that’s just how they run they are high compression engines

RHD cars in Europe are only sold within the UK or Ireland so the demand is not as high for them considering the rest of Europe are LHD. Whereas in continental Europe, you can pretty much sell your car in any other European country without any trouble as the rest of the continent is LHD. Additionally, RHD is often an afterthought during the R&D phase of a car from a LHD-country-based manufacturer. For example, the Lamborghini Gallardo in LHD form has more room for the pedal box whereas the RHD versions don't have much room for a clutch pedal. German cars like Porsche and Mercedes often have an offset steering wheel so your legs could be pointing towards the transmission tunnel and your torso is slightly facing towards the door when you're sat in a RHD version. It really is an odd thing. I'm assuming over there in Australia there are more neighbouring RHD markets like South East Asia to export your car to hence why the prices don't drop down as much, plus I don't think the sales figures match the UK so Z4Ms could be rare sight over there than they are here.

I have owned several models from each of these manufacturers. With sensible driving and maintenance by the book all have yielded excellent reliability. So many people buying these cars are stretching their budget to impress people that they can't afford proper maintenance. People who make disparaging remarks about them have probably never owned them and are just mimicking what they have heard or read elsewhere.
