diesel92kj1, if you want to buy new then it's a fair choice. I'm always after the best value on my channel, so if it were my money either a GTX 970 or R9 290/290x will provide considerably better performance provided you have the space and PSU to drive them. This year I bought a 770 and a HD7970 for around $115-125 CAD, which is basically 90 pounds...pretty good deals for Canada.

ClumpyChicken definitely good cards dude, especially if you overclocked both they can hang at 1080p high-ultra settings in most titles.

Techformative great purchase, hope you enjoy, it will handle most games at high settings 1080p. I also did a review of this card against a Radeon 7950 for the most current games if you want to check it out.

Thanks..I gotta overclock it abit and then run heaven bench for a few hours..Oh i saw that video..the 7950 wins in most cases cause of its 3gb memory and has shown to age better than the 770. great video!

Techformative yes the 7950 is better in some games but the GTX 770 is not very far behind in most games and is actually better on games like Crysis 3, Fallout 4, Skyrim SE and can generally be picked up cheaper in most countries than Radeon's cards because of crypto mining.

Yes the R9 280 is essentially the HD 7950 I tested back in May this year as you'll see most games at their highest setting fair a little better on the HD7950/R9 280 check it out if you haven't done so already.

The GTX 770 is a great deal if you can get it for below $85 I can play most games at med-high @1080p 60FPS

I think the the GTX 770 or HD7950 for the same money will definitely give better performance they're around the GTX 1050ti level.

Ac1ton Gaming OC'd the HD 7950 can actually run most games at ultra check out my GTX 770 Vs HD 7950 comparison, excluding ARK and Mass Effect Andromeda. However I was using a i5 6600k @ 4.6 GHz which has a much better IPC than the old FX series processors. So if you're happy with high settings in most titles you'll be fine, having to drop to medium in some cases. Hope it helps.
