My skin type is combi/dry most of the month, but when hormonal, my skin gets very oily around my t-zone. It's very unpredictable (thanks skin) and I suffer from breakouts (mostly hormonal breakouts...thanks again hormones!)

The Ordinary is a Canadian company so is very cheap up here in Canada. ..shipping is free too. Always good to support local companies when you can. I also really love their customer service....it's the best!

That hyaluronic serum is the BEST one I’ve ever used! I want to slather myself in it ...Lol And that hydrating oil is amazing! Also been using the daily brightening serum, niacinamide, peptide & overnight in conjunction with my normal skincare routine. Their serums aren’t as sticky as the ordinary especially when layering. Totally purchasing the eye serum next time too...wasn’t sure if caffeine would be ok around the eyes They just came out with a cleansing balm that’s also excellent, it’s just as good as farmacy one for like 1/2 the price. So glad you did this review....:)

Great video. The Ordinary launched in Ulta today in the US!!!! The same prices as when I order direct from The Ordinary in Toronto. There wasn't extra cost/tax to order from Toronto.

Hi, one of the major differences to me is that Good Molecules brand is not cruelty-free so trying it will be a no-no to me. On the contrary, The Ordinary is cruelty-free.

I can't find any info that they are cruelty free, if a brand is cruelty free they at least inform that in their website, if there isn't any info on that I assume that it isn't. also I don't find this brand in any cruelty free list.

This was detailed again, Gemma ☺! But... I loooove my The Ordinary products and don't think I will change. After your video I went to the website of GM to find out that there are a lot of products with "natural" ingredients (lemon, pumpkin, orange...) As I suffer from different allergies (especially fruits) I have to be very careful with new products. But again: Thank you for the efford you put in every of your videos, Gemma! Hi Gemma. First I love your reviews, your openness and honesty are so refreshing. I’m closer to your moms age so I appreciate the duality if your reviews and info. I too, am a Good Molecules convert. I love the ultra hydrating facial oils and the wake up eye serum. It’s the cleansing balm sample that blew my mind. I was cautiously optimistic as well. After one use I order 3 big tubs. It is the best cleansing product I have tried in a long time. I’m a facial oil junkie! Better that DHC, better than Tatcha. The stuff is amazing. I’m 58, so I appreciate the hydrating benefits. Thanks so much for all of your great info and keeping it real! Truely keeping it about the products and how to keep those pesky creases from coming out under my eyes. Your introduction to the under eye oil primer. Kabammm! Amazing. I would love to say I look 20 years younger but well. Let’s just say it really does the trick. Keep up the great work. Best to Mum! Thanks Gemma, a fantastic review. I use the ordinary and love it, there are a few I would try from the Good Molecule, but one product has Alcohol, and a few have one or all of these included in them, lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit, so a great product if you like those kind of things in your skincare. I would only try out those that do not contain those items. Have a great week. 👩🏻‍🎤

I actually have 2 bottles on my desk that were hardly touched because I was underwhelmed one being the HA serum after switching from Skinceuticals products which are way too pricey now and I refuse, but LOVE them so will look in to some of Good Molecules items. I'm going to try a couple of the products from the line you are speaking about after a little research for my skin. Winter is so different than now, as it's humid and not snowing and dry. Thank you so much for the very in depth information on each product.

I'm sticking with the Ordinary (which I have been buying from Deciem, with no shipping charge). Now that it's available at Ulta, I will buy from them, as I get points! I know Sephora sells it too, but I will not ever buy from Sephora, until they change their attitude towards older women customers. I have tried the WakeUp Eye serum, as it came in the Lucky Bag from Beautylish - it did nothing for me, except make my under eyes very oily, and it got into my eyes and under my contacts. Plus, after a couple of months it started to smell really bad. As the bottle would probably last about 2 years (!!) can't imagine what it would smell like then. BTW - I use the Hylauronic Acid every morning and it doesn't make my skin shiny - maybe that's because I'm much older than you? I know Wayne Goss really thought these were good, but I haven't heard him mention them for ages - all he talks about now is Drunk Elephant!

If it's a dry climate try not to use Hyaluronic Acid. If there is no moisture in the air it will suck moisture from your skin xxx

Love this review. 😍 I hate balms too for the same reason but I love the Heimish All Clean balm. It's Korean. I love that it is affordable and does not clog my pores and also turns into an oil. My skin is both sensitive and acne prone and it does not break me out or irritate my skin. I highly recommend.

I started using Good Molecules in May. I also purchased the Super Seven. They are wonderful products. My skin is responding much better to these than they did the Ordinary products. I am completely in love with them. And you are right, the cleansing balm is the best cleanser I have ever used on my face. I just received the Vitamin C powder and the Discoloration serum. Can’t wait to try them.

The niacinamide serum and toner have been a lifesaver for me. I hope you have gotten ahold of it. The difference was so drastic I threw away my Ordinary. I was celebrating because I finally found something that actually reduced the size and appearance of my large pores. So so happy. Thank you Good Molecules! Hugs from Az 🤗

Hi Gemma, great that you introduced me to Good Molecules❣ I also started with The Ordinary and replaced or added some serums of theInkyList and my skin is great. GM surely would do the same..add or replace. Shipping to Germany from beautylish is expensive and needs long to arrive. Maybe I try a product when granting myself a new brush of Wayne Goss😀😍

I’ve been using these seven serums for two months now and I absolutely love them and my skin looks and feels beautiful, I use them daily with the exception of the overnight exfoliating treatment, which by the way is the only one I would say can be a little irritating so be careful and only use a few drops, I only use it once a week and only at night time. The two oils you get are wonderful and feel so nice on the skin. I’ve only used one serum from the Ordinary so I can’t compare them, but these super seven products are amazing in my opinion. Great review!

I ordered the niacinamide toner yesterday and am really looking forward to using it. I went through a period of irritation and I discontinued everything and now am gradually adding things back. I am looking to simplify my routine so as I use up my products from The Ordinary, I will be replacing some of them with multi use products. The caffeine solution is a good example of what I want to do. Thank you for your thoughtful analysis.

Thank you for such an in-depth comparison of both brands! I do love the ordinary but now I’ve got some decisions to make when the products start to run out 😱! I’ve seen on beauty bay that TO are now offering bundle deals, including a 3 step retinol 😍. Also have you tried any of makeup revolution skin care? I’ve brought a few of their products and very similar to TO! I also love their 1% bakuchoil serum! I just use it in the morning and a retinoid at night and it’s been a game changer 😁

I’ve bought quite a few things from the ordinary and to be honest I’ve never noticed any difference to my skin apart from the vitamin c which helped clear my skin up so will stick with that, but I will be trying this brand for sure thanks for the review 😊

I'm very fond of Wayne Goss videos but didn't rate his one on Good Molecules as his format doesn't give time for a proper review, but it did interest me, as I like TO. So I found one by Allura Beauty. She went into her review very thoroughly and I came away thinking I'll stick with TO. However, nice to see how you're getting on with them. What I am interested in is the Inkey List products, which again is another competitor to TO.

Thanks for the info on another line of affordable skin care. I love The Ordinary and get free shipping through Sephora or Ulta in the United States. I may pick up the overnight facial and maybe the oil the next time I order something from Beautylish but not sure when that will be. I need to find a good makeup remover but all of the popular ones I have been suggested all break my skin out and my skin is pretty tough, lol.

So glad you did these. I had already seen Wayne Goss with some of them a while back. Actually, that's the last time I had watched him. I was kinda sold on some of the products with his suggestion but, you doing your thing, which is the biggest reason I'm not watching Wayne anymore, is that you went into GREAT detail about each product, you tested them yourself for several days before referring them to us. I appreciate all the time, energy, money that you put into this channel. I know I can depend on honest answers (good or bad) about the products test. There are a couple Good Molecules products that I will probably switch to, just because they're cheaper here in the States. So, once again, thanx for all you do...you do it so well.💜

mary fair I actually haven’t tried the one from the Ordinary. The drunk elephant one had a lot of good reviews and I had gotten it in a kit. It does carry a hefty price tag. I guess I don’t mind as much with all the Ordinary products being so reasonably priced.

Have tried good molecules recently and OMG am I impressed!have tried high end as well as The Ordinary(which I love)I honestly don’t think I will buy high end again,have seen amazing results for a fraction of what you can pay and in all honesty I see better results with the ‘cheaper’ products!such amazing products!!!!❤️

The product range is expanding. There is now a niacinamide toner, in addition to the brightening stuff that came out about a month or so ago. I expect that the product range will continue to expand.

My daughter found Good Molecules and asked me to research it. I LOVE your videos so when I saw your name and comparing to The Ordinary, which I use beause of your videos, I was surprised that you liked them as much as you gushed. When I look at the ingredient list of Ordinary versus Good Molecules, there are so many ingredients I can not even pronounce and would take a lot of time to even look up to see what the heck they are. So I am asking, a year later, or close to it if you still feel that there are several products you prefer to the Ordinary? Thanks for your reply. I don't want my daughter to buy them until I get more information on them. Again, thank you for your time. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.

This was interesting. I have never heard of Good Molecules before. I have just started using the Ordinary in the past few months. I was going to buy the Caffeine Solution, but I held off and am glad I did because now I want to get the Wake Up Eye serum instead. You mentioned 3 other Good Molecules products that you didn't have: Daily Brightening Serum, Discoloration Correcting Serum, and Niacinamide Brightening Toner. I am always looking for brightening and discoloration correcting products, but am wary of too much drying for 40+ skin. I would love if you would review these three, mentioning if they are effective, if they are too harsh on the skin, if they can be used together or if you would only use 1 or 2, etc. Thanks as always! I was on vacation last week and was excited to come back and have three of your new videos waiting for me!

Thanks Gemma, I really enjoy your reviews. Any chance you could try the GOW products from Victoria Health? They were developed after The Ordinary was withdrawn from that site and follow a similar range of products.

I prefer the Inkey List Caffeine, to the GM Wakeup Eye serum, but the GM is better under my eye makeup. After an excellent rating from Beautypedia, I bought the GM Niacinamide. I have made it an essential in my routine; it's that good.

Thoughts on Matrixyl , please? Boots No7 had it in one of their serums. Also I believe Kiehl’s has it or a form of it (possibly Myristyl Myristate) in their Ultra Facial Cream. Thank you so very much.

Pampered Wolf Thank you, Lady. I DID notice with both the No7 & Kiehl’s my under eyes crinkles lessened almost as soon as I applied it. Years ago, Physicians Formula has a undereyes concealer that had GABA in it. While they still sell concealers, none of them include GABA as an ingredient. I was able to use it every other day after using it initially for the the first 3 days. No darks circles OR bags. Ulta just announced The Ordinary is available from them but not sure if it’s only online. I’m definitely going to get Matrixyl if it’s in store, if only to avoid shipping & to check for fragrance or scent. Thank you so very much for your opinion about Matrixyl.

Hi Gemma, I saw Wayne review these along with some other US channels I follow. When you say the peptide serum and the others you say are exactly the same, are the inci lists identical and in the same order? One channel I watch said the GM serums had less quality of active ingredients in. Is that true? For me, being in England. They'd have to be better than TO and better value to push me into getting them shipped from the US. Deciem do free delivery over 25 quid i believe and in 3 days. I like seabuckthorn oil but yes it can stain! Thank you so much for time doing this. XOXO

I did a comparison of the two brands on Skincarisma and The Ordinary won out - both in ingredients and the "Clean" level of the ingredients. Not to say Good Molecules isn't a good product but if you are like me and try to keep your skin care as "clean" as possible, when it comes to ingredients, The Ordinary looks to be the better option.

I am trying the niacinamide serum and toner, I probably don’t need both. I can’t decide which I like between these and The Ordinary - my face has had a weird texture lately, feels texture but not bumps - hard to describe. I’m also using the brightening serum and don’t know if it’s brightening yet. Funny about you and squalene - I find it feels like water. I got GM rose hip oil and love it. Underneath my eyes it takes FOREVER to sink in, however.

Hello again and thank you so much for another amazing review! You look sooooo good as always and I love watching and listening to you! I was about to order products from the ordinary but not so sure now.... What do you think? I am 40 years old (so anti aging is a must and have some dark spots on my face- lucky me...). Do you think I should get the bundle from good molecules and add what the ordinary has to offer me for the anti aging (Buffet, hyaluronic acid 2% + b5, Granactive retinoid 2% Squalane, 100% organic cold pressed rose hip seed oil). and for pigmentation (alpha arbutin 2%+ha, niacinamide 10%+ zinc1%, magnesium ascorbyl Phosphate 10%, azelaic Acid susension 10%)? HELP ME PLEASE this is too much for me to follow! Why can't they just make a perfect cocktail of everything for day and night and sell it for 200$ and just make it easier for all of us?!?!?

Unfortunately you can add a cocktail of products to your skin but they degrade quite rapidly if they are mixed together in a formula. That's why they are sold separately. I would stick with the ordinary. It never fails xxx

Thanks for such an interesting and detailed review! I would like to recommend a couple of products - I use tretinoin which has been a huge success for me, but I always apply Eucerin Adjunctive Soothing Cream first and let it dry down before applying the tretinoin. It has worked well in preventing peeling and flaking from the tretinoin. Also I use the Hado Labo super hydrator lotion (available on Amazon) which is very pleasant to use and makes your skin very dewy. I use that on nights off from tretinoin.

Hi Rachel. This will prevent peeling because it lessens the potency of the tretinoin. To keep that potency and get the full use out of the product, apply the cream 15 minutes after tretinoin application xxx
