Could you imagine, being on camera 5,5 hours a day, 6 days a week?? Constantly entertaining people, singing several songs live daily, trying to fit in ad lib commercials for endless products - and keeping your audience interested and engaged - all off the top of your head??? If someone ever deserved a movie, made about them, if only to try and grasp at that legacy, she left behind - it would be Betty White. Trouble is, who on earth would be able to play her believably, and how would you capture a life like that on the silver screen?

As I watch this, it's very difficult to believe that she's gone. How I would have loved to have coffee with her...and her animals! Not just an American treasure, a treasure for the world. A most fascinating lady. Much loved here in Canada.

She had such an amazing life. She lived through so many worldly changes it pretty amazing. The depression and the changes of the 50s,60s,70s and on and on. No TV to b&w tv then color tv and internet and to have such amazing experiences in her life is remarkable. She definitely didn't waste her life away, she absolutely took full advantage of her life's opportunities. ❤️ What a precious beautiful legend. ❤️

Can we count the 'firsts' this woman is discussing as casually as though she were clerking in a Mom & Pop grocery? I thought Carol Burnett was the first female host of a variety. Nope. Go back a few years. First female star of a situation comedy. Not Lucy. Go back a few years. First female host of a talk show. Not Virginia Graham, or Joan Rivers. Go back a few years. First female producer/ performer of the same television show. Not Lucy, or Carol, or Mary Tyler Moore. Go Back a few years. She was NOT the first woman to host her own game show but she was the first to win an Emmy for one. Think about it this way. Betty's first experience doing sketches on regular scheduled live television was around 1950 in Hollywood on Television (that 5 plus 6 days a week show). Her last was her sketch work as guest/ host in SNL appearances from 2010- 2015 (the Californians was her last live sketch). her first sitcom work was in 1951 with Life with Elizabeth. Hot in Cleveland's final episode was again in 2015. There was 60 years between her first Emmy nomination and her last. It's astounding.

Love Betty and Carol Burnette but I'm tired of hearing about "firsts." How about we get back to focusing on what was and is BEST. Saying an accomplishment is the first for a woman, black, Asian, blonde, left hander or other identity group diminishes how great these human beings and their accomplishments are, like they were merely the best of their identity group. Sorry to go off on your comment. I'm sure you're a nice person but we're never going to move past our obsession with race, gender, sexual preference, skin color, religious affiliation or any other identity subsection of human beings until we frame our world and our individual experiences as all members of the same identity group-- the group of humans who are all the same naked and screaming child on our birthday before being taught that we are different somehow.

A true pioneer, she did it all. In the 70's I grew up watching her on game shows by day, and on MTM Show on Saturday night. In all her successful shows, she was surrounded by impeccable casts, too. Good fortune or good chemistry, or both.

Wow… she worked with Buster Keaton… I mean that’s as legendary as it gets. She is so humble. “I would sing like 3 songs… you couldn’t tell me from the amateurs I’m sure…” I’ve seen her singing from that time in her life, she had an absolutely amazing voice. Betty was a gem that we didn’t deserve.❤️❤️❤️

I find it quite fascinating hearing her talk. We can look back at all her career. It's strange to see these people, who may not of known of her until her passing away. Then seeing this and constantly speaking how sad it is her passing away. It is absolutely terrible but I I just want to enjoy this without all this.
