Toyota made a mistake with the Land Cruiser by making it more of a luxury SUV and making it less utilitarian and less capable. As result, the Land Cruiser is being cancelled due to a lack of sales, while the Jeep Wrangler has the best sales ever. Land Rover just made the same mistake with the Defender.

I live in New Jersey and my dealership just brought the brand new 2021 Ford Bronco not the baby Bronco but the full size one both were 4 doors and both soft tops one was a manual four cylinder and the other was a ten speed auto the manual was a Badlands in silver and the ten speed was a I believe it was a Outerbanks or Black diamond in Antimatter blue which my mom and I both like that color and it was Sasquatched

I have to agree with your Dad. I could NOT get comfortable in the Armada or QX80. The seat felt like it wouldn’t go back far enough, or lower far enough. My head was brushing the ceiling. I could not rest my elbow on the arm rests WHILE holding the steering wheel, on either side. I pulled the steering wheel all the way towards me, and adjusted the seat as far down and back as it would go and still couldn’t get it. How odd, given that it competes with vehicles with endless ranges of those respective adjustments.

Hilarious about the Armada. We recently had one as a rental for a 14 hr drive w/ a family of four. We loved it. Plush interior (black on black). Only downside was the lack of space behind the 3rd row. Room for carry-ons only. We would likely have the third row down in most situations because of that.

If I were to rank every full-size SUV for sale currently (The new Wagoneer isn’t yet available, so I won’t rank it just yet), it would go like this: 1. Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe: General Motors really knocked it out of the park with their new SUV redesigns. Their long overdue 4-Link independent rear suspension designs has dramatically improved their cargo capacities (Which are best in class) and legroom in all three rows of seating. I’m also so happy that General Motors has given their SUVs their own unique interiors (Which reminds me of the C8 Corvette with the instrument panel design, the push button shifter, and the way the screen integrates, all of which are very well executed) compared to their truck variants with higher quality materials and more exclusive content and features. I’m eager to see the updated Silverado and Sierra pickup getting the same updates as their SUVs. However, there are some subtle things that could be improved, like adaptive cruise only being available on Premier and High Country. It would be nice if it was offered on more trims. And lastly, while I really like the HD surround vision system, a physical button for the camera would be appreciated since accessing it through the infotainment can be a bit tedious. Towing capacity at 8,300 lbs for Suburban and 8,400 for the Tahoe are good towing ratings, but they reside at the lower end of the segment. Would be nice to have greater towing capacities like the other competition products. Minor missteps aside, everything else with the new Suburban and Tahoe’s interior space are really strong for the class, and should help them maintain their sales leader ship for years to come. 2. Ford Expedition: The current Expedition has aged well, and is a good overall full-size SUV product, but there are certain qualities of this vehicle that I find hard to accept in this segment. Firstly, it’s the surprisingly inadequate cargo space despite similar specs and dimensions to other full size SUV products, an important aspect for full-size SUVs that Ford really screwed up with the current Expedition in my view. Some short wheelbase full-size SUVs offer more usable space behind the first row than even the Expedition Max (Most likely due to Ford carrying over their old 5 link rear suspension and how they’ve packaged into the rear frame rails creating an insufficient interior for max cargo room). The last issue that I have with the current Expedition is some of the interior quality.. In a segment that’s getting very competitive (Look at the new Suburban and upcoming Wagoneer), it is hard for me to accept that Ford, with some of the best engineers in the world (Look at the new Bronco and F-150) could’ve given the new Expedition a really impressive, fully SUV specific cabin with substantial cargo room gains as well as top quality materials, but they’re actually ok just copying and pasting instrument panel designs from their previous F-150 truck interiors with gumball feeling plastics into its interior space, particularly at its price point in the low 70s to 80 thousand dollars for the top trim versions. Ford hasn’t gone far enough with differentiating the Expedition’s interior from the previous F-150, and has the worst interior of the three domestic full-size SUV brands (General Motors, Stellantis, and Ford) in regards to interior build quality and cargo capacity. Most of the cargo volume and build quality issues won’t be addressed with the upcoming mid-cycle refresh for 2022. 3. Nissan Armada: I’m glad Nissan is given the Armada more attention for the 2021 MY with its refresh. While it’s towing rating of 8,500lbs is at the high end of the full-size segment, it’s cargo capacity is not (In fact, the smallest in the segment now at 95.4 cubic feet behind the first row). I agree with Roman on front seat comfort. It’s surprisingly inadequate room in the first row is an issue that other products in this class do not have that issue, not to mention 3rd row space is also the smallest in class at 28.4 inches. The updates to the current version are good, but not enough to compete with the newer domestic competition products. 4. Toyota Sequoia: There aren’t a lot of reasons to choose the current Sequoia over the newer domestic competition products (Reliability aside). While cargo room is at the higher end of the segment at 120.8 cubic feet behind the first row, towing capacity is the smallest in its class at 7,400 pounds. Fuel economy is also the worst in segment as well at 13 city, 17 highway and 14 combined. Until the Sequoia gets its long overdue redesign, its best to look at the newer options in the class. Once the new Jeep Wagoneer goes on sale and I test it out in person, I’ll update my current Full-size SUV rankings list to see how it compares to the other products in the class. It looks like a really promising option in the segment, especially with its high end interior space and 10,000lb towing capacity.

Roman, I'm with you on being frustrated with "full-sized," big ass vehicles not having room in the driver's seat for folks who are taller than the average. IMO, there is no excuse for having an SUV as big as these are, yet I have to contort my back, whack my head on low door frames, and sit with my knees in the dashboard. Why? Because smaller folks want the seat to ride high to emphasize the view looking down on lesser vehicles. SMH

Because unlike most global markets, Toyota insisted in only importing the higher trim levels of the LC200, which rivals the price of the Lexus LX. Toyota should've imported lower trim levels of the LC200 that are more in line with Lexus GX prices and it would've been successful. The GX starts at around $54k, the Landcruiser LC200 and the Lexus LX both start at around $85k. Most global markets get the Landcruiser Prado that starts below $60k whereas we don't get anything remotely close to it here in the states.

Also the fact that electric cars have to run 17+ years in order to offset a petroleum vehicle. Unfortunately I don’t think a battery pack will last that long then we have to consider the impact of disposing of those batteries and no they are not a 100% recyclable. Wish they would continue developing the bio gas / methane. We produce it anyways and science agrees I needs to be burned off to be safe. Unfortunately free energy or very close to free energy won’t happen because the lack of profit or manipulation of stocks.

I 100% disagree with Roman on the 2021 Armada. I’m a bigger guy, 6’5” and 265. Handles really well. The motor and transmission are seamless and tons of power! I think Tommy is spot on. We almost bought a Duramax Denali, but the Denali was quite boring. However, at the end of the day I saved about $16k buying the SL. One of the major things missing from the Denali was the radar cruise control. All my cars have it and it makes a huge difference on long trips. Also, the 360 cameras are fantastic! I’ve always said they aren’t needed, but now that I have it I love it!

If it had a different brand name on the front, your mind would see it a bit different! The one thing about the Armada, and Titan for most folks, isn't the standard issues brought up, but the fact that it's still ridiculously expensive for vehicles that market to the budget minded consumer! I disagree Roman. I would not hesitate to buy a first year new design new engine transmission LEXUS at all! Nissan's aren't exactly pillars of reliability either but yes tried and true endurance V8 is a stout motor. Say what you will about the defender being a first year this or that, Land Rover has EARNED their reputation for off road worthiness and there is no arguing that..... but they have also EARNED in the same way LEXUS has, their reputation of reliability or lack there of. It's based off decades of real world long term and short term consistent data. One is great and one is awful. You better have a lot of money, time and love loaner cars if you buy a Landover anything. For some people it's simply worth the headaches to drive an unreliable vehicle that's fun and looks amazing , just like BMW, Mercedes audi and vw owners.... its not to me.

If you consider yourself journalists, do your own research on bitcoin mining. Anybody can focus on, inflate, and dramatize the negative side of a debate to form an untruthful narrative on a topic. That's what Mahr does. It's what cancel culture is. Hopefully TFL will be better at reporting facts than this in the future. Clearly Roman doesn't know what he is talking about concerning bitcoin mining. Stick to reporting on what you know.

You don’t have to be a crypto expert to understand the tech uses mind-blowing amounts of energy but you do have to be a Bitcoin or Tesla fan boy or “investor” to make excuses for it or to criticize those who point out the obvious. It’s also crazy ironic that your comment is the definition of cancel culture. Just because you don’t agree or like Roman’s opinion does not make it wrong or I’ll informed. Why don’t you stick to investing in crypto......until the music stops.

@@TFLtalk The problem is that Roman wasn't forming an opinion by doing journalist research, but by buying into the propaganda of one liberal celebrity. Also, if he is so concerned about killing mother earth, the TRX should probably go byby! Comes off as hypocritical.

Did you know that legal pot growing in Colorado uses about 20 percent of all coal powered electricity in Colorado? The point being that between the massive amounts of carbon that legal indoor pot growing and crypto spew into the air maybe you and the politicians) have it wrong. Don’t go after the TRX, that’s a minuscule drop in the bucket of global pollution but go after what really is driving carbon production....crypto and indoor pot. The problem is you don’t what to hear the facts. You’d rather pretend that crypto is the new world currency that will set us free from the tyranny of governments and banks and blah blah blah. When in fact it’s just the latest tech hustle that has the potential of plunging us into another depression when the last person buys into it and the pyramid comes crashing down as they always do.

@@TFLtalk It's ordinary computer parts for the most part. Your laptop can mine bitcoin if you wanted, will you make any money on it? Not likely. It's not some super secret technology, it's basic stuff you can buy off the shelf that has to run 24/7 in order to turn a profit.
