I've got big plans for the big pond. It time to make some changes and create an entire new area for the turtles and other critters in this beautiful part of my backyard property!

Those tortoises are chomping down. Kenan thank you for taking the time to post your videos and always educating us. This morning was very very sad, my Cockatoo who I had for years crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. We didn’t really know how old she was but guessed in her early 50. She was very abused and never stopped picking her chest to it would bleed. I am very sad and just watching your videos always let my brain relax. Can’t wait to see what you have planned for the camp

Sliders and snappers can climb fences. Ive sat and watched a slider climb a 5ft chain link fence to get in my daughter's pond

If you wind up cutting a bunch of the cypress knees, I would love to have them to paint and raise money for our central Ms turtle rescue and our reptile rescue, HERE! Hometown exotic rescue and education. Would be happy to drive and pick them up!

You could put some different items that maybe could float like logs or maybe that boardwalk you were talking about that even the turtles could also get on and utilize to bask that way you can visually see them more and enjoy it and also be able to check on the health of the turtles without disturbing them.

Love hearing you talk about providing the tortoises with things that can naturally wear down their beaks! I see way too many pictures of pet tortoises with overgrown beaks and claws, especially with smaller species like Horsefield's and Hermann's because people often feed them easy to eat foods in smooth plastic bowls. I also know people that take them to the vet to have their beaks and claws filed down or do it themselves once or twice a year, but I have 2 horsefield's and as well as occasionally giving them some foods that they have to work on more I also feed them on a large piece of slate and have plenty of rocks and pebbles deliberately placed in the way of places they frequent the most so they naturally file their beaks and their claws down on their own - never had to do any filing or cutting claws, it makes my life and theirs so much easier and less stressful!

you could def put a small pond in the corner, something like the biofalls design and use it for a grow out area for smaller turtles. it would have the bonus of fbeing a large filter for the big pond.

My little deserts bred and born in captivity, always piddle when I pick them up, but that’s usually after their winter snooze, I like to inspect them to make sure they have good growth, and no foreign bodies on them, but to do that in the desert heck no. My torts have fresh water and food so I don’t worry about them having water. We have 5 of them. They are little sweet hearts and know my voice. Tfs

I am glad to see the big pond! I would love to see a feeding in the water and see what is in there, it is a real mystery. Have you thought of a dock? It would be fun to observe the pond while standing over it.

Totally different view of the kamp, just imagine pond front enclosures. And a pond that size would be a great home for the giant turtle from the movie one million years bc have a great weekend master jedi 👍💯🖖

What woupd be awesome is you setting up rows of tubs for specific species. Having them then drain into the big pond for the larger species but littler tubs for the ones you have groups of. Little land areas and stuff so u can really keep track of the offspring and when everyone is laying and where and stuff. Just rows of big waterland tubs or the big tractor supply tubs. Gives you a chance to show us how to plump them, build secure lids, land areas with nesting sites and all that fun stuff

Also are you not scared of having alot of other turtles with a species of turtle known for eating turtles? Thatd be a huge fear of mine having other turtles in with the alligator snapping turtles

Just made a trip out to Sam’s place from Texas which was an amazing bucket list trip for the family. If you start doing tours we are gonna have to make another trip out to Florida.

Yay... The season of the pumpkin gorge has come. Thank you Donna and Rose for the Tortoise feast ❤! And the work around the Big Pond is exciting... and one more adventure that will unfold over the next few years. And lastly , loved that you finally pronounced "Machete" like Danny Trejo would do !

Hi Kenan. Close call with the chain saw!!! Years ago my best friend and I were cutting wood for our wood burners, PA living, and the same thing happened to my friend only the chain hit him in the thigh cutting the femoral artery. Luckily I was close enough to immediately put put a tourniquet on him ASAP. I was a fireman for 33 years and witnessed people in car accidents get a femoral tear and die in a few minutes. You gave me goosebumps when you were telling the chain saw encounter you had. Take care, stay safe and God bless.

I love that you have decided to work on that part of your camp! It’s a beautiful spot and I often wish to see more. I always thought it would be cool to have a platform out there where you could feed the animals from. I have two questions: 1. It doesn’t look like there is an inflow and outflow for the big pond, is it just standing water? 2. With so many turtles in there, do you monitor the water quality? Thanks and I can’t wait to see all the new upgrades!

Just saying but I think you should get this kind of Anole lizard for the pond or where you keep your turtles from Central America and this kind of anole is called a Water Anole and they are semi aquatic and they can stay underwater for long periods of time like up to 16 minutes and they are able to do that because they use a scuba diving behavior but the reason they stay underwater for up to 16 minutes is you see they have the ability to form a bubble of air over their heads while underwater and when threatened or searching for prey they will jump from rocks and trees into the water and when submerged they exhale and form an air bubble on the end of their snouts and only 3 predators have been documented preying on the water anole and one is a crab and the other two are two species of birds and they are a medium sized lizard with Their adult size being 52-77 mm and they are native to southwestern Costa Rica and they can also be found in far southwestern Panama.

Folks, I'll save you time -- just watch the the "World of Imagination" song sequence in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." That's the point in the film when Wonka takes the kids and parents into his Chocolate Factory. It's the same thing here except it's Kenan dressed in Florida Man gear waving a machete around instead of a cane! And Kenan doesn't do a nice song and dance sequence that lasts 3 minutes. OR "The Candy Man" which Sammy Davis, Jr made a hit of after the movie premiered (1971). Hey, I compared Kenan to Willy Wonka! I could have brought up the instances where I was experiencing flashbacks to 'Nam and the times Colonel Kurtz lectured us! "There are times, you know... it gets surreal here -- in the Kamp!"

Good idea not to cut down many of those cypress knees. The trees need them to breathe air and anchor themselves in the wet soil.

Kenan got a new toy machete? 6:53 I had a neighbor die that way. He cut his femoral artery with the chainsaw and bled out before help could come. I’m glad Kenan’s accident wasn’t worse.

Love everything about your channel.. love all your vids!! Your new camera guy though, seems to interrupt you while you’re speaking sometimes and it low key bugs the crap outta me. Just saying lol.
