The car's Owner is Greg Falk. Greg’s had this car since 2020. He shares he sold a 23 Window VW Bus and went on a search for a car he always wanted, a “Plymouth Fury” from his birth year.

Thanks for documenting another fintastic car Lou. The front of the Plymouth carried the Imperial look of '59 with the sculptured and curved bumper and the headlights make a nod to the later '61 Imperial headlights which stood proud of the grille in their own separate bezels. Another spectacular automotive sculpture that futuristic Exner left his signature on...

Virgil Exner was the Harley Earl of Chrysler. I believe they called the steering wheel an aerowheel. Glad to see it didn't have the optional "toilet seat" on the deck lid. Must be a nice driver with the upgrades on it. I've been watching Scott from " cold war motors" in Canada restore a 60 Fury 2 Dr hardtop he found in a field for the last 2 years. He's a true master. He grafted the body of the Fury 2 Dr. on to the floor pan of a 60 Dodge 4 Dr sedan and made many replacement panels on the badly rotted body. Fantastic cars from the good old days. Thanks for another fine video.

I really enjoy your videos, and I have a suggestion. Have the owner turn on all of the lights, including back up lights, brights and turn signals. On convertibles, have the top operate. Turn on the radio, especially if it's original. It's nice to see everything work.

Hey, Lou! Love those fins! I was born in 1960. The cars of 1960 were out there on the edge still before Muscle cars took over. 6000 pound vehicles with big Hemi engines. To get them land yacht's moving. Lou, COULD you do a video on the two door Ford wagon's. My Mother and Father had 3 kids by late 59. I remember a Brown and a Blue 2 door wagon made by Ford sitting in our driveway during the early 60's. With a big light by the driver side mirror. I came along in 1960. Later my Dad had a big Black Plymouth or Dodge wagon with the push button trans and slide park. I think it was a 4 door. Later he had 1970 Dodge wagon with 383 4- barrel carb. B-5 blue in color. Finished with a 9 passenger 454 Chevy Estate wagon. With the electric clam shell tail gate. Some of those wagon had big engine too. Shawn.

Yeah! The largest fins of any American car..... At least that was the folklore. Only thing it's missing is the "Golden Commando" cross ram induction of a 361 or 383. Odds are, those pieces were stripped and installed on a late 60's hot rod. This is the car that jumped the shark with fins but also projected where Chrysler design was headed: Everything about Chrysler was engineering gimmicks, like the push button transmission. I love this era from 58-66 Chryslers..... Just wild. Thanks so much Lou! You always find the rare and best of the lot.

I used to own a 1960 Fury convertible. Mine was black over red. I had always wanted one but it's true about the rust and the unibody construction. Previous owner had welded in patches for floor & trunk, plus two heavy rods to keep the car from sagging...only found out when it was delivered! Mine had the 361 Golden Commando with scare badges. Ultimately I was disappointed with the ride and overall performance so sold it (at a huge loss) and got a '63 Cadillac convertible instead. That one drives like a dream. But I still have a soft spot for these!

When my dad was 17 (1960) my grand daddy bought a brand new 1960 Plymouth Savoy--Slant 6, 3 on the tree. Cheapest thing on the lot. My grandparents raised 6 kids so Extra Money JUST DID NOT EXIST for them. A Savoy was all they could afford. So a 60 Plymouth holds a special place for me. Their both gone now and dad would've been IN SO MUCH TROUBLE with this Car. Beautiful.

Lou, when I saw this one the word subtle came to mind, not too ostentatious, right? God Lord you can see this coming from a mile away, WOW. The white coves in the front look amazing. The paint color is perfect for this land yacht. Chrysler products in the late 50s and 60s had some of the most beautiful automotive designs that haven't been equaled since and probably never will. In my opinion, Chrysler lead the way in the suspension department with the torsion bars, which I believe were designed and first used by Porsche. In the power department, the Hemi was the top of the heap. The Torque Flight transmissions were without question the best of that era as well. Chrysler just had it all and this example just proves it. Thanks for sharing this one Lou.

I had a right-hand drive '59 candy-apple red pillarless sports Plymouth Belvedere in Sydney. Originally old block 318, I replaced it with a '69 440 cid which was also rated at 375 horse. The alloy torque-flight transmission replaced the old cast iron one so the vehicle still only weighed 33 hundred weight. Went like a rocket. .

Thanks for the look, never have had the pleasure even in 1960, back then these cars were avoided like the virus because of poor body and interior materials, after the warranty lapsed they were not worth much and left to rot when something broke , like the push button drive, which didn’t take long. I suspect he has the only one in that condition. I love seeing vehicles that I have never seen before and this one is definitely at the top.👍

Production of the 1960 Plymouth Fury Convertible was 7,080 versus the 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible (production 79,903) and 1960 Ford Sunliner Convertible (production 44,762). Sales of the big 1960 Plymouth were weak partially due to the similarly priced 1960 Dodge Dart which had more conservative styling. Also Mopar sales of that time suffered from the already mentioned poor quality which began with the radical 1957 models. While a 1960 big Plymouth is now hard to find, the 1960 Dodge Matador and Polara are even rarer due to low production. Coldwarmotors on KZfaq is currently restoring a 1960 Plymouth Fury Coupe and his car has the optional Sport Deck, stock wheelcovers, and factory engine.
