Excellent stuff - just one thing, if you bring a QUAKE Cannon, please fire it last because it has one of the most hilarious rules: It makes deadly demise happen on a 3+ on destroyed targets. Seeing an exploding Knight in the middle of that fortress would have been such a great cinematic scene. Still big entertainment, many thanks for all the great work!

Maybe track casualties during turn 1, and remove them at the end of the turn; allowing both players to get a one round of shooting at full strength?

This was absolutely a glorious battle report. I usually don't enjoy such one-sided carnage, but this was special. I guess because the side that won this one was the one I thought would be pulverized into the ground by turn 4. Truly a Merry Christmas. Thanks winters, sultan and everyone else who watches these battle reports and makes them happen.

I haven't played 40k in decades but would a house rule where each opponent alternates firing/moving one unit at a time (like a chess match) have made this a more balanced game?

This might just be my favorite battle of the channel....

The HAMMER of the EMPEROR! Loved this report - sometimes something daft like this makes a fun watch from a narrative perspective, so I wouldn't sweat balance concerns.

This is the first time that i will watch a battle report twice. I enjoyed that Panzer carnage too much.

What a great present for me this morning. (Edited follows) What a great victory for the Guard! We won't talk about the air wing's performance, though. Lovely narrative, lovely armies. I actually felt a little sorry for Chaos, but I used a hand flamer on my sense of pity and it went away. It looks like the game was an absolute blast . . . and that's really what it's about, innit?

Normally Tank Commanders can only order squadrons. Baneblade class tanks are not squadrons. The only officer who can order any Astra Militarum unit is Leontus

Really awesome. Let have a big battle report with guard vs tyrranids or greenskins. A big battle maybe 5000 point on both sides. Lots tanks (or monsters in case of nids) and scores of foot soldiers.

Great game, awesome power of the Guard with decent dice rolls shows just how they can delete an army in a couple of turns. Poor Winters...your dice roliing was painful to watch....sometimes you just get dice days like that.....good fun in a narrative game though!

Only halfway through this, but it's one of the best in a while! One note regarding hazardous, in 10th, you only need to make a single role person weapon fired. No more making hazard rolls for each individual shot. If one gun shot (no matter how many shots) you make one roll. Super friendly for things with Blast like a Macro Plasma Incincerator.

A piece of line of sight blocking terrain in the center of the board would give guard the choice of "do I move up and maximize number of targets, or do I stay in place and maximize accuracy against those visible. It prevents turn 1 shooting of the board, and a central piece to pivot your armies around, neither player could afford to just hide behind it the whole time, there would be some play for table position, not just who shoots first.

One-sided but still fun.

That was an awesome thing to watch, despite the (obvious) outcome, its still good to try these things out - proves not every 2k force is equal!

Winter's ability to STILL not know death guard rules 6 months into the edition is my favourite thing: Entropy Cannons are D+1 damage each, so that first entropy cannon volley shouldve done 10 wounds to that tank :(

Good game, however predictable based on who went first. Chaos nor any army can come back from losing 2 big units T1. Not a feel good moment.

Cool models, cool narrative, but much too "unbalanced" - starting with the guard and letting all the monsters have a clear field of fire. The game was over after round one.

I love both you guys but this was a firing range not a batrep. Never seen a game before where one player should skip their own turns because they're so pointless. Maybe you should've let one destroyed chaos model come back onto the board each turn? Was looking forward to seeing what those knights could do in close combat until turn 1 happened. Not moving anything turn 1 in a narrative game felt kinda toxic as you had first turn by default. Finally I'm glad winters had fun, but what world was he in that a few squads of plague marines had a chance to survive against a tank batallion?! Sultan you never played your admech :( poor guys are sitting on a shelf forgotton about and being tortured by the games workshop rule makers. As they're my only army it makes me sad. Sorry to be a debbie downer, hope you both had a lovely christmas!
