I used the GoPro HERO 9 Black's TimeWarp 3.0 feature to capture a recent bike ride at East Potomac Park in Washington DC. East Potomac Park is a park located on a man-made island in the Potomac River. The island the park sits on is between the Washington Channel and the Potomac River and lies southeast of the Jefferson Memorial/14th Street Bridge.
I started my ride on the Tidal Basin side of the Jefferson Memorial. From there, I made my way over to Ohio Drive SW on the east side of the island/park via some sidewalks and crosswalks. Once I was on Ohio Drive SW, it was effectively a straight shot to Hains Point at the southernmost tip of the park. From Hains Point, I took the western portion of Ohio Drive SW north back towards the Jefferson Memorial. Ohio Drive SW eventually ends once you pass under I-395 and there are some sidewalks that parallel East Basin Drive SW that I took to get back to where I started at the Jefferson Memorial.
There are dedicated bike lanes along the majority of Ohio Drive SW, but some sections require you to bike on the road; that said, vehicle traffic is typically very light. I rode this loop during the week, but from what I have heard, certain sections are shut down to vehicle traffic on the weekends so people can walk, bike, etc. without car traffic.
Overall, this ride came out to be just under a 5 mile loop.
