I used the GoPro HERO 9 Black's TimeWarp 3.0 feature to capture a recent bike ride on the Schuylkill River Trail in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The trail is a multi-use path that will eventually extend 120 miles from Frackville in Schuylkill County, through Montgomery, Chester and Berks Counties to Philadelphia. This trail isn't 100% complete yet (there are gaps between certain sections currently, so be sure to check out the website link below for more info prior to going), but over 75 miles of paved and crushed stone trail are open to the public as of the time of this writing.
I decided to start my ride near Manayunk, PA. I wasn't sure how crowded it would be in Manayunk, so I decided to park across the river (southside) at the Barmouth Trailhead. From the Barmouth Trailhead parking lot I took the Manayunk Bridge Trail to cross the river into Manayunk. The bridge doesn't directly connect to the River Trail, but all you have to do to get on the River Trail is ride a few hundred yards down High St, take a left on Leverington Ave (towards the river), and hop on Main St From Main St, there are several junctions where you can hop onto the River Trail.
Once on the trail in Manayunk, I headed northwest and rode all the way out to Mont Clare, which is about 25 miles away from where I started - my ride technically went as far as Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, which is where I turned around. I was trying to make it all the way out to Parker Ford, but I didn't realize that to make it out there using the river trail you need to cross over the bridge (Bridge St) that connects Mont Clare to Phoenixville, where the trail continues along the southside of the river (rather than the northside) up to Parker Ford.
A majority of the trail that I rode was paved; however, there are stretches of unpaved sections (packed gravel). The trail is well marked, but I did get confused at several points because there are a lot of ancillary trails that connect to the River Trail, which can make things a bit confusing (hence me missing the crossover at Bridge St to continue to Parker Ford).
Overall, this ride came out to be ~50 miles for me (out and back).
