So many great memories! I remember they put up signs on the animal fences not to feed the animals. People were giving them human food. They also had a Ferris Wheel for awhile. I loved the rides! They didn't have the plane for very long. The gift shop was always interesting to look around in. I always wished our family would have a picnic there. Thank you for bringing back the memories.

This film brings back great innocent memories...thank you! I only wish that I had realized earlier how small zoos with big animals such as these were very cruel...maybe we just didn't know any better...no awareness of the pain these captured animals endured. I remember those poor lions in those small cages...

MY BUFFALO!!!!!!!!!! We went to Ross Park every year 1-2 a year. I LOVED the buffalo. I spent some time w/him through out our visit. I always felt compassion for him because he was alone. All other animals had some kind of companion, but not him. I am profoundly grateful to you for this. I have thought of him thru' the years. and he is the reason i have stuffed buffalo's!

I grew up a block away on Woodland Ave. Such GREAT memories !!!!! Rode on those rides hundreds of times. WOW.

I loved Ross Park. IIRC it was south of the city up a big hill, Mill St., or Park Ave. every year Windsor School would treat all the grade school kids a trip to Ross Park. The big free merry-go-round was always a big attraction.

I remeber riding the train as a child.

Lived one block up on Marilyn Ave from '62-'67. All summer we could hear the drone of the helicopters from our yard when the bar was pushed and they slowly went up. And the unmistakable sound of the peacocks calling out.
