Rob walks through the process of making a saw handle from torrefied birdseye Maple. There are often challenges dealing with figured wood that require special attention.
The apron he is wearing is a gift from the last workshop in Niagara Falls. Each disabled Vet that has been a guest in one of his classes, donated their last patch. R. Col. Luther got them sewn on an apron and presented to him at the last workshop in April/17.
Enjoy this video, a subsequent video • Dovetail Saw by Rob Co... "Rob Cosmans dovetail saw, how it's made" will take you through the rest of the process. Check out the finished saws at www.robcosman.com

Hey Rob! First off, I want to tell you your work inspires me a great deal. I'm saving to order one of your saws in about two weeks. I wanted to ask you something on a different matter, the IBC blades you sell, do they fit woodriver planes without the need to file them or is it a necessary step as it is with bailey planes? Thanks in advance and warm regards!

Hello. I'm a luthier, I'm Brazilian, I cried when you cut this maple board to make a cable of saw, a Birdseye maple board costs 2 thousand dollars, the price of a used car.

Sounds like a personal problem. The board is probably $40 or less in Canada. Continue weeping in Brazil...
