Love it...I still find my self saying "rollin, rollin, rollin, rollin..." when I'm driving. For even more fun, "Break Stuff" and "Nookie". Nu Metal was and still is my jam. WIKI: "Nu metal merges elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, grunge, and funk. " It's fun, because it's high energy, it's hard hitting, it's loud...what's not to like?

This band was an interesting phenomenon. When they hit the scene they were super popular and everyone was bumping their album. Then Fred Durst started catching a lot of flak and tons of people disowned Limp Bizkit. People who used to love them deny it to this day. Its hysterical.
@talkshow69
@talkshow69 7 ай бұрын
Well the fact is that the band created controversy even from their debut album, but the songs were good. The first three albums were marred by what Durst did outside of the band especially live, including the Woodstock '99 and the Jessica Michalik issue, not to mention his issues with Borland. Really, Borland and Otto defined the sound of Limp Bizkit, and can be considered the backbone of the band. So yeah, people wouldn't want to call themselves a fan considering they'd be accused of condoning the shit the band was accused of.

Nu metal spawned bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn, Alien Ant Farm, Incubus. However it wasn't entirely new idea to combine rap and metal. Anthrax and Public Enemy joined forces in the 1980's on "Bring The Noise" but that drew more from metal on the rhytm than rap or hip hop. This takes the rhytm from hip hop and sound from metal.

This video was filmed on top of the original South Tower (World Trade Center) in September of 2000. It won Best Rock Video at MTV Video Awards a year later (five days before 9/11). The Port Authority sent them a thank you letter and fruit basket for featuring the WTC the day before the attacks happened. Very strange coincidences.

When Limp Bizkit broke into the Nu-Metal genre it was previously dominated by angsty goth kids and bands (i was one of em). They slapped a fresh coat of vibrant paint on it along with a spoiler, some spinner rims, and blacklight underglow. We *hated* them for it, but we also were bobbin our heads to their jams when no one else was looking.

Nu Metal was very dominant in the late 90's through the early 2000's. All throughout high school I was really into both Nu Metal and Industrial Metal. Some of the Nu Metal bands that I listened to a lot back then were KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Deftones, Kid Rock, and Slipknot, but these are only just some of the bands that I listened to as a teenager. In the mid 2000 it was like Nu Metal music just vanish into thin air. I'll admit that when I listen to Nu Metal now it makes me feel cringey. But at least you enjoyed this song that I use to love listening back in my days.

This was one of the two songs I blame for getting me started on metal music, so it's always great when I see it getting some love. The whole rap and hip hop infusion with metal was really popular in the late 90s and early 2000s, and actually became a sub-genre of its own called 'nu metal'. Another great video, thanks for doing what you do!

I do understand your confusion at the start of the video where there was mention of Chocolate Starfish. The album this song is from is called Chocolate Starfish & Hot Dog Flavored Water Chocolate Starfish is a slang term for someones Booty hole for lack of a better word. Hot Dog flavored water is an inside joke with the band in regards to seeing a brands flavored waters and joking that they have a hot dog flavored version.

Limp Bizkit is my Band they came out of my hometown Jacksonville Florida AKA "Freakville" and they are classified as "Nu-Metal" which is a Mix of Hard Rock, Hip Hop, Funk, and Grunge music. best years of my life was where I got to enjoy hanging out with the band at local and underground venues before they really hit it big.

This is so nostalgic for me, used to listen to them a lot in my teens. I saw them perform at a festival like 8 years ago, even then it had been a while, but man they're a vibe and just a fun time to rock out on.
