The Bissell upright 2x series carpet cleaners are amazing. Surpassing the cleaning I thought you could get from a household upright. Tackling even impossible stains you would swear are hopeless. If you spray the stains a few times first and leave it a few hours so it loosens and reconstitutes it. The dual brushes and suction of the cleaner work like magic. The secret is in the emulsification of the stain substance and then suctioning it away with the foaming liquid.

Yes. I felt like it was very easy to use and did a good job. The only con would be that the dirty water tank holds less than clean water tank, so you find yourself stopping multiple times to empty one, then again to fill the other. I can live with that though.

This was an excellent review. I'd watched a few before this one, and yours was really the best. You explained everything very clearly and concisely and noted every technical detail such as making sure the unit is in standing mode before using the upholstery tool to protect carpet. Other reviewers did not make note of these details. I'm ready to use my new purchase now. Thanks so much!

A great review. Having just bought this, I thought I would take a look at how I'm supposed to use it and have had a go at a quite heavily pet-stained deep pile carpet. It is literally like new and the solution has not only cleaned superbly but has left a really pleasant smell. This machine is superb and you have done a great job advertising its benefits. Cheers.

Uh, yeah... I figured that out a bit late, I went to the bissell site and saw the specs, needless to say, the vacuum is enroute from costco to my house.... dun, dun, duuuuun. I'll take it back unopened.

Have a look at the karcher hard floor cleaners. I have a lot of karcher gear and it is good quality. We use a Karcher steam cleaner for our tiled floors, but it would be no good for wooden floors. :-)

Thanks for that, I looked into Karcher on costco.com and saw that the units people were receiving were "refurbs" also they would push debris out ahead of the vacuum so I decided to get a nice bissell floor cleaner with spinning bristles and a separate bissell steam mop with hose to sanitize the granite counters as well. Before all this I had a bissell pet sweeper stick that relied exclusively on suction and squeegee fins, it has lasted me lifetimes, but finally gave up the ghost when the plastic head connection cracked while I tried removing it to clean out the passage ways. I hope these new bissells last me as long as the last one.

👍 for a good review. I bought mine a few weeks ago and I’m very satisfied with it. The cleaner I purchased about 17 years ago broke 5 years ago and I hadn’t replaced it until now. I was horrified by the filth that accumulated since then.

Thank you for an honest and easy to follow tutorial/review. I did a bit of research before buying mine (the only thing that puts me off are the colours - my partner calls it Buzz Lightyear lol) but wanted to make sure I was using it correctly. I live on a farm with a pup and two long-haired ragdoll cats so it's safe to say wintertime can get a little bit muddy around here. Looking forward to doing some "spring cleaning" and also clean a few stains on the seats in my car. Thanks again and keep up the awesome work Russell :)
