I recommend watching the video Why Do You Hate Conservatives. It breaks down a lot of the false arguments the Left makes and clarifies Conservatives views that are often twisted into falsehoods and false hate.

“Progressive left” is just a fancy way of saying “Red communist”.

My mom was born in Austria and saw the other side of WWII. She remembers both Nazi and Soviet occupations (where she lived was the Soviet occupied zone). One of my neighbors was born in Hungary during the Soviet bloc era. Both of them tell me how what the current Democrats are doing mimics everything from the Soviets and, in mom’s case, the Nazis. It scares both of them. Watch some videos of the young lady who escaped North Korea too. People who have escaped these socialist regimes are all bewildered at why anyone would want to implement them here.

If you truly wish to see the difference between people's political or moral beliefs, it can be easily seen just by looking at how they handle different opinions. Liberals, while holding some different opinions from Conservatives, can articulate those differences in a conversation that by large will be civil. Leftists, or those with a much more radical viewpoint, when confronted with facts will talk about feelings or just shut down like a child with a temper tantrum when challenged. I consider myself a middle of the road person, as I don't fully agree with either side as I believe a lot of Americans truly are. We vote based on what is best for us, our families, and then the country. (usually prioritizing as I just stated) I love that I found your channel and I hope to see you break 100k soon!

As a conservative, I can hold meaningful conversations with liberals. We may not agree on everything, but we can come away having learned new things and remain good friends. If I try to have a civil debate with a leftist, all I get are insults. I've never cut connections with anyone based on political opinion or who they voted for because I value my relationships more. But I have been cut off from other friends because of mine. You can probably guess where they land.

Wow. I must confess, I didn't know any of this. I have to confess that, until now, I thought that liberals and the left were the "same thing".

I feel this is an accurate accounting of what's happening now. You could search for some of the topics he mentioned and see the effects on society and the media and how different it sounds. The people standing up for their beliefs actually made sense back then.

There are two liberals in the US. There is the classic Liberalism, which is modern-day Libertarian or at least that is the party that is closest to the practice and ideals. Then there is the modern liberal, aka liberal with a small L, which wouldn't know Liberalism if it jumped up and bit them. Modern liberals use Authoritarianism as their ideological cudgel, modern liberals view the State as the agency to replace religion as the underlining structure of governance. These are all things that are in direct conflict with Classical Liberalism, which sees the individual as the source of power. Classic Liberalism has a core pillar in private ownership, whereas modern liberalism refutes the individual's right and sees the State as the owner. In both Communism and Socialism, both being modern liberal ideologies, the State owns the source of production, being different in who owns everything else, the State (Communism) or the Individual (Socialism). One way to measure how far away from Capitalism and how close to Socialism we have moved to is by looking at the amount owned by individuals and the amount owned by the State.

Pretty much, the United States was built on what was then considered liberal values. The thing is, the Constitution and Declaration of Independence are classical liberal documents. As for liberal v. Leftist v. Conservative, though…. Think about this: people on the far left oppose interracial marriage more than people on the right, and the people who oppose interracial marriage the least (the people most likely to be okay with it) are those of us somewhere in the middle (this is from either Gallup or Pew research; I don’t have the link, but I’m sure you can look it up). Honestly, the far Left and the far Right actually agree on ends quite often, just disagreeing with rationale to reach those ends. Most liberals, once we think about it, are just as wary of the far Left as we are the far Right.

Definitely true, as America is an exception where the rest of the world left and liberals are separate parties and liberals are seen as center right. It's caused by the American laws that favor a 2 party system.

If you want to know who is "for the people" look at homelessness statistics since the 90s to now and compare who is president during those times, that will give you an idea of whose policies are working and who are the ones only out to line their own pockets and those of the people who fund them.

This might help you learn a little. Since there are only 2 major parties in the US, the democrats and republicans people may not fully agree with either. For example, those that are libertarian or conservative. They usually choose from these 2 parties the candidate they feel better represents them thoygh there are smaller parties as well.

Wow, that is confusing. As a conservative I share ALL the views and values of other conservatives and the Republican Party, and so I'm not sure why any Republican would care either way. Is Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton a leftist or liberal? There are not too many policies, if any, from either one of them that I can say I like. Who in our history would be a good example of a 'leftist' versus a 'liberal'? In this film, President Roosevelt appears to be sited as a liberal and not a leftist. Yet, when the great Jesse Owens won 3 Gold-Metals at the 1936 Olympics he was snubbed and not allowed to go to the White House. The White Olympians met the President, but not Jesse. Of course, he was also snubbed by Hitler, which is not surprising, but also by our so-called liberal President was terrible! So, it appears there really is some grey area between the two terms and the distinction is not as straight forward as they want you to believe.

What you must understand is that there is a plethora of opinions of what a Liberal, Conservative and Left is! First a lefty person in the USA is not the same as in Sweden or China and ofc this goes for Liberals or Conservatives too. A conservative in Sweden would be perceived as a socialist in the USA and what Sweden calls the far right is actually Conservatives in the States, what that tells you is that Sweden is by default much more socialist and communist but in China the Swedish communist would be seen as a liberal. So one has to pay attention especially in Europe with so many different countries that a French or Swedish or Greek liberal can vary a lot and may be seen upon by each other as being either very lefty or very much to the right. But in general liberals and conservative values individual freedom and freedom of speech, the left values that to but only if it is whit in their ideology socialism or communism and they do not belive in the individual but in the collective. So PragerU is right here the liberals and conservatives have much more in common, they have the same goals but their roads to that goal differ some, the left has a different goal and their ways to that goal varies a lot depending on if you are a socialist or a communist (and now also the Green radical groups/parties to some extent) .

That's why as a conservative I separate Liberals from Leftists. I freely admit there are at least 2 factions on the right as well. Most conservatives simply want to keep our country the way that it was..prosperous and successful without caring about your skin color or what you do in the bedroom. What we deem the Far Right are the people who are the bigots and troublemakers. We disavow them and most have nothing to do with them politically. Hard to always do socially especially in small towns. Unfortunately the Left deem anyone who disagrees with them to be "Far Right". Liberal progressive here. Due to leftism-I have no place in the Democrat party. Dennis Prager offers up some decent points here and it is mostly accurate. The term "liberal" has indeed been bastardized to effectively mean "leftist". But it wasn't just the leftists who did this. It has also been authoritarian conservatives doing it. Because the "liberal vs conservative" argument is a strawman fallacy pushed by authoritarians from the left and right to more effectively dominate American politics. The actual political spectrum looks more like this: Liberalism vs authoritarianism and conservatives vs progressives. On the far left, we find the authoritarian minded progressives. On the near left, we find liberal progressives. On the near right, liberal conservatives. On the far right; authoritarian conservatives. The overwhelming majority of Americans are liberals. Actual liberals. Liberal progressives or liberal conservatives. But even though they certainly have the numbers, this group takes a back seat to the more authoritarian minded right and left because these two camps have almost all of the activists lol. Nature of politics in the US. It's the authoritarian element the two parties pander to--and why most feel unrepresented. When it comes to the parties, I tend to go with the party who will do the least amount of longterm damage.

Dont let tem fool you, balancing any budget and really not raising national debt is a joke really... isn't in the cards for DC any time soon...fiscal responsibility left when we went off the gold standard, took social security funds and made part of the general budget, and deficit spending is the accepted standard now, the last balanced budget was under Clinton...but that was nlegatively offset by NAFTA and a horrendous '94 crime bill imo.

Instead, Liberals believe that the color of one's skin is immaterial and the character of one's person is important. Leftists oppose this view, holding that color of skin is more important. Liberals see any emphasis on skin color and segregation as racist. Leftists view the protection of racial differences as important and seek segregation, while viewing the Liberal idea that we are all equal as racist.
